Chapter 760: I Was Pushed Down

Everyone surrounded the bed. No one said anything, but they looked worriedly at Guan Tao, who was lying on the bed with a pale face.

After drinking the ginger soup, she felt that her body was much warmer. However, perhaps because the lake water was cold, it could not disperse the coldness in her body. Even though she was nestled under the blanket, her body could not help but tremble.

The doctor measured her temperature. Guan Tao was already having a fever.

“The child is running a fever. I’ll give her an IV drip first and see if her temperature will drop in the afternoon. If it does, she’ll be fine. If her fever doesn’t stop, I suggest you send her to the hospital in Liyang County,” the doctor said.

Sun Dasheng quickly nodded. “Alright, thank you, Doctor.”

“I’m sorry for scaring everyone,” Guan Tao suddenly said in a hoarse voice.

Sun Dasheng couldn’t help but answer softly, “I didn’t protect you well. Rest well. Don’t think too much. Rest up first.”

Guan Tao nodded and slowly closed her eyes.

After the doctor gave her the IV drip, Jian Ai whispered to the others, “Teacher, you can go back first. Qinghuan and I will take care of her.”

Guan Tao was a girl, after all. Moreover, she needed to rest now. It was indeed not a good thing for so many people to surround her.

“Alright, remember to inform me immediately if anything happens,” Sun Dasheng said.

With that, Sun Dasheng left with the boys.

When he returned to his room, Gao Yang walked to the bed expressionlessly and sat down like an emotionless puppet.

Yan Tian realized that something was wrong with him and couldn’t help but approach him worriedly. “Gao Yang, are you okay?”

Looking up, Gao Yang’s usually gentle eyes were terrifyingly red. It was unknown if he was about to cry or if he was holding back his other emotions.

His lips moved slightly, but he did not say a word.

Everything that had happened to Guan Tao made him feel uncontrollable fear. This was the first time in his life that he had developed such uncontrollable and infinitely magnified emotions.

This left Gao Yang, who had always been calm and reserved, at a loss for what to do.

Lin Yi shook his head at Yan Tian, who was still concerned. At this moment, Gao Yang needed to calm down and think about why he had become like this because of Guan Tao.

Only if he figured it out himself would everything be clear.

On the other side, as soon as everyone left, Guan Tao, who was on the bed, slowly opened her eyes.

Jian Ai and Qinghuan were sitting at the side, watching over her. Seeing this, they quickly asked, “What’s wrong, Guan Tao? Are you not feeling well?”

Jian Ai looked worried. She was so nervous that if Guan Tao frowned, she would think that Guan Tao felt uncomfortable.

Guan Tao revealed a pale smile and shook her head gently. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Guan Tao paused. A trace of hesitation and fear suddenly filled her eyes.

She moved her lips and looked up at the two people in front of her. “Xiao Ai, Qinghuan, I have something I don’t know if I should say.”

“What is it?” the two of them asked Guan Tao in unison.

However, for some reason, the two of them had a bad premonition.

In the next second, Guan Tao said with certainty, “I… was pushed down.”

Her words stirred up a thousand ripples. Jian Ai and Xia Qinghuan were immediately petrified on the spot, and they revealed dumbfounded expressions of surprise.
