Chapter 751: I Can’t Let A Girl Do This Work

There were too many ingredients, and everything had to be processed personally. One had to string the meat and shrimp together.

After peeling the potatoes, they needed to slice and skewer them.

The stems of the green peppers had to be removed, the corn had to be cut into segments, and the enoki mushrooms had to be soaked after their roots were removed.

There were many things to do, but fortunately, there were fifty people. Under Xia Qinghuan’s lead, everyone worked obediently.

After handling most of the ingredients, Jian Ai asked the staff to teach her how to start a fire and burn charcoal.

The staff was only in charge of giving pointers and would not help, so Jian Ai had to do all of this herself.

“Let me do this job.”

Lin Yi suddenly walked to Jian Ai’s side and snatched the shovel from her. He pushed Jian Ai behind him without a trace.

“Can you do it?” Jian Ai smiled.

It was not that she looked down on Lin Yi. After all, the environment he grew up in said it all.

“I can’t let a girl like you do such a thing. Don’t worry, there’s a teacher teaching me, right? I promise to light it for you,” Lin Yi said and raised his eyebrows at Jian Ai.

Seeing this, Jian Ai didn’t fight with him. “Alright, I’ll count on you today.”

It was past six in the evening, and the sun was only half a head above the horizon. The golden light in the lake was accompanied by a red sunset, casting the entire lake beach under a warm light.

Someone in the other classes had already lit a charcoal fire. Smoke rose, and the students cheered.

Soon, Lin Yi also lit a charcoal fire under the staff’s guidance. He immediately shouted at Jian Ai, “Jian Ai, it’s burning!”

Jian Ai was doing potato skewers. Hearing this, she looked up and smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up.

This scene filled Lin Yi’s heart.

It was good to just look at her like this.

“Are there any students willing to try roasting the food?” Sun Dasheng immediately asked everyone.

Many boys quickly raised their hands. After all, they had never done such a thing before. It would be interesting.

Seeing that so many people wanted to try, Sun Dasheng smiled in satisfaction. He randomly chose two people and said, “Everyone, take turns.”

The ingredients for the barbecue were also very comprehensive, and the meat had been marinated. As long as they sprinkle some cumin and chili powder on it, it would be delicious.

Not long after, the fragrance of roasted meat gradually drifted from the shore that only had the smell of the lake water. The grill, which was five meters long, was filled with meat. Five boys operated it at the same time.

The fat on the meat skewers flickered with light, making people salivate at a glance. The staff watched the students roast the meat at the side, afraid that they would waste the ingredients.

The meat was cooked quickly. Not long after, the first batch of barbecued meat was ready. A huge aluminum plate was filled with meat skewers in the blink of an eye.

“Xiao Ai, stop skewering first. Try this.” Guan Tao walked to Jian Ai with a lamb skewer and handed it to her.

Jian Ai was also hungry. She stopped what she was doing and took a bite.

The mutton was tender and juicy. After marinating it, the taste was rich and delicious.

“It smells so good!”

“It’s delicious. It’s better than what I ate at the barbecue stall.”

“I think so too!”

Perhaps because this resulted from their hard work, everyone felt it was more delicious than the barbecue they had eaten in the past.

“Students, come and get the drinks. One each!”

There were twenty-four cans of Coke in one box, and thirty-two cans of lychee soda in the other. Class One and Sun Dasheng had a total of fifty-two people, so there was enough for everyone.
