Chapter 752: Full of Expectations

After the sunset, the sky quickly darkened. There were lights from the scenic area around the lake, so it did not affect everyone’s barbecue.

Everyone chatted as they ate. From time to time, they heard laughter.

The moon had not yet risen in the sky, but a few stars were faintly glowing.

Feeling everything around her, Jian Ai was in a good mood. It was the joy of youth that radiated from the inside out. This was the first time since her rebirth that she felt she had truly integrated into the class.

And this was the regret of her previous life.

“Try this. I barbecued it.”

Gao Yang walked to Guan Tao and handed her a skewer of roasted prawns.

Guan Tao was chatting with the other students, but when she saw this, her smile instinctively froze on her face.

The two girls at the side looked at each other and looked at Guan Tao and Gao Yang with a meaningful smile.

“Thank you.” Guan Tao lowered her eyes and reached out to take it.

Their fingers accidentally collided, making Guan Tao bite her lower lip nervously.

Gao Yang was fine and only whispered, “Eat it while it’s hot. It won’t taste good when it’s cold.”

Guan Tao nodded without looking up.

Only when she felt Gao Yang leave did she slowly look up, her face burning.

“Guan Tao… You and Gao Yang…” One of the female students couldn’t help but ask. Although she didn’t finish speaking, her meaning was obvious.

Guan Tao quickly shook her head. “Don’t talk nonsense. We’re friends and deskmates.”

It was not that Guan Tao didn’t want to admit anything, but her current relationship with Gao Yang was like this. There was nothing to admit.

It was true that she would be nervous and her heart would beat faster when facing Gao Yang alone, but it proved nothing. Perhaps she was like that.

Guan Tao thought.

Seeing this, the female classmate didn’t ask further. However, looking at their conditions, she felt it wasn’t that simple.

Since they were deskmates, it was possible for them to be close to each other.

Not far away, an expressionless face and a pair of sinister and terrifying eyes were staring at Guan Tao’s back without blinking.

Everyone cleaned up at the end of the barbecue. They tidied up the trash, beverage cans, food residue, and other things left behind when handling the ingredients.

After cleaning up, everyone could go back and rest on their own. The remaining scenic area staff would handle the aftermath.

The activity started at three in the afternoon, but the students felt that the day was exceptionally fulfilling. The first collective barbecue gave everyone a very pleasant experience. This made the students couldn’t help but look forward to whether there were more fun things waiting for them for the next few days.

When she returned to her room, Jian Ai threw herself on the sofa, but the smile on her face did not fade.

Xia Qinghuan took off her clothes immediately. “My body smells like barbecue. Do you think my clothes would dry if I wash them tonight?”

“Of course not. It’s not summer. Besides, this is a coat,” Guan Tao said.

Jian Ai sat up. “If you want to wash it, do it early. We’re still here tomorrow. It’ll be dry by the day after tomorrow.”

Xia Qinghuan nodded in enlightenment. “You’re right. I’ll go wash my coat first. Everyone can shower later.”

“Let me do it!” Guan Tao snatched Xia Qinghuan’s coat and said to Jian Ai, “Xiao Ai, take yours off too.”

Jian Ai: “There’s no need for me. I didn’t approach the grill tonight. There’s no smell on me.”
