The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 1490 – The First Battle (Chapter 2)

Chapter 1490 – The First Battle (2)

Del City, located at the juncture of the Barren Land and the Long Xuan Empire, was once ruined by the baptism of

war; not even half of the walls were left intact. But now, it had been built anew.

Although it was just one small city, when the armored horses of the four-nation alliance arrived outside Del City, the

people could not help but gasp in amazement at the nearly perfectly built city standing in front of them.

Tall and sturdy walls, towering gates, dozens of artillery above the walls. It showed the appearance of a strong city.

The commanders of the four countries successively got off their carriages and looked at the the city in front of them

with complicated thoughts.

Looking at Del City before them, and then thinking of the cities in their own country, they really had the urge to

vomit blood.

The construction of Del City could be said to be extremely tough and tenacious. The entire city had only one

entrance. The surrounding walls were all made of the hardest obsidian; whether in height or in thickness, everything

was absolutely breathtaking. All the artillery were hidden inside the wall with only the muzzle exposed, and the

blocks that extended from the wall could completely hide the artillery and gunners. Even the Archers and Magicians

who were good at long-range attacks both needed to attack the gunner repeatedly through such a small hole.

If they wanted to destroy these artillery, they could only break the wall!

Such construction worked surprisingly well in defense, but because of the high cost required, there was no city that

dared to do it other than the imperial capitals of various countries.

And Del City was just one of the most inconspicuous small cities in the Barren Land. To think that it had been built

so perfectly; how could this not make the several commanders cough up blood?

“How extravagant this Shen Yanxiao is! Is it all right to build a city to be this fierce?!” Qu Xun looked at the wall

made of obsidian and felt like he was watching a pile of gold coins. Who would believe that the city with an off-thechart-defenses was actually a small city built less than a year ago?

In such a short period of time, to perfect the city to such a point, the cost surely must have reached a staggering

number.

This was just a small city!!!

If the commanders of the four countries coughed up blood, so did the soldiers of the four countries. Thinking of

their generals who hesitated to take out money for military expenses all day, and then seeing such a situation in the

Barren Land, they really had the urge to die.

“The Long Xuan Empire indeed gained small advantages. If Shen Yanxiao built every city on this scale, then the

Long Xuan Empire, which has the most cities, can take up a lot of money this time.” Elder Wen said with a sour

mouth. Although they had known previously the approximate size of the cities in the Barren Land, it was no match

for the shock when they actually saw it.

Nouveau riche

Shen Yanxiao was really a nouveau riche!

After the commanders of four countries finished vomiting blood, they began to fantasize that after Shen Yanxiao’s

death, the cities they divided would also be as perfect as Del City.

When everyone was done lamenting the luxury of Del City, Elder Wen and Qu Xun also issued the command to

attack.

Anyway, this ultimate city belonged to the Long Xuan Empire. Even if it were broken into a pile of rubble, it would

have no effect on them.

They could not let the Long Xuan Empire gain small advantages!

The Lan Yue Dynasty and the forces of the Seven Kingdoms began to attack Del City, but what made them

speechless was that they had already come to the gates of the city, yet they hadn’t seen the slightest resistance!

Was it possible that this Shen Yanxiao really planned to abandon all the other cities and only defend the main cities?
