Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 399: The Arena Battles

Chapter 399: The Arena Battles

“The banquet will be held a few months afterwards. It seems that my Imperial Father is also preparing for a grand celebration.” Princess Lan Yi Hua’s eyes held mocking expression. It was clear that she knew her father would surely want to use that banquet to announce to the world about Princess Lan Xiao Yue’s participation in the Phoenix inheritance along with the man who was chosen to be her fiancé.

What a joke.

A hand came over and held her hand tightly. Lin Xiao’s face appeared before Princess Lan Yi Hua and before she knew it, he had pressed his lips onto her.

Beside them, Prince Lin Xian was resisting the urge to slap his forehead. Did this younger brother of his really didn’t know etiquette? Why did he have to show off his love in front of him, ah?

He already knew that they were married!

That was f*cking enough!

Lin Yun was also resisting the urge to roll his eyes. Thankfully, Fan Ling was not here because she was busy training while Lu Jian was also fighting with time in order to breakthrough to Golden Core Stage. If they were also here, he was sure that they would all have the same urge to beat up Lin Xiao so badly that his face would be unrecognizable.

Stop torturing singles like them, alright?

“Xiao…” Princess Lan Yi Hua called out when Lin Xiao retreated. Her cheeks were slightly flushed.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be with you. They won’t be able to look down on you ever again in the future,” Lin Xiao promised. He grinned.

Princess Lan Yi Hua’s fingers no longer clasped as she instead held Lin Xiao’s hand. A smile formed at the corner of her lips. A married daughter was like a thrown water and for the rest of her life, she would be following her husband instead of returning back to her family.

They didn’t matter to her anymore. She nodded slightly. “Yes.”

“Brother… now that it’s done, can we return back to the matter in hand?” Lin Yun smiled with a dark expression. Could these two please spare singles like them and not show off so much?”

*cough*

“Sorry, what are we talking about before?”

“It’s about the arena battles now. What do you plan to do for the arena battles? The same as before?”

“Ah?” Lin Xiao knew very well that before he didn’t care so much about his face since he only wanted to do whatever he wanted. But now that he had to build his prestige, he knew very well that he wouldn’t be able to do that anymore.

“How’s the system?”

“Elimination. There are only 1000 people and the higher the rank, the more reward you can get. Also, if someone above you is eliminated, your rank will be pushed down. It’s different from when you’ll directly replace that person and have your ranking far below the other party.”

“How much is the reward?” Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. From what he knew, Sun Dragon Academy was so stingy in the new student ranking before. Just how many Spirit Stones could they even offer?

“The first place will get 1000 Spirit Stones per month and also 50 hours’ chance to study in either one of the rooms.”

“Rooms?” Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows.

Prince Lin Xian nodded. “There are various types of room that you can borrow, including the library and also training room. In general, the places that many students wanted to go is the training room. It can be tailored to suit your cultivation and training there will give you double the result with half the effort.”

“Oh?”

Now, Lin Xiao was interested. If he could get the first place and spend his time in that training room, wouldn’t it mean that his cultivation would also soar within a short period of time.

Now the ranking didn’t seem to be so bad anymore.

“If you didn’t want to use the training room, there’s also the tower where you can learn the formation and runes there. Of course, aside from getting it as the price from each month’s ranking, you can also obtain it by paying Spirit Stones or even exchanging treasure.”

Lin Xiao nodded. “Is it expensive?”

Prince Lin Xian passed a look at his younger brother. “100 Spirit Stones for each hour in training room.”

100 Spirit Stones?

Lin Xiao nearly vomited blood. He had already used up most of his money to buy the house and also to enhance himself. He wouldn’t be able to stay for a long period of time inside that training room no matter what he do.

It seemed that he had to work harder and get rich if he wanted it.

“As for the tower, it’s the same too. However, you can also get a chance to enter inside if there was a student who wanted to challenge the higher level. Of course, there’ll be test for those who want to be the tower guardian.”

In the past, Lin Xiao had also encountered such student. He didn’t think that it was that weird anymore and nodded his head.

“How many students are there in Sun Dragon Academy?”

“How many students?” Prince Lin Xian held a weird expression. “In your batch alone, there are around 600 students, and coupled with other who are already seniors, I think the number should be close to 5,000.”

5,000?

Lin Xiao was stumped. The ranking was only for 1000 students, right?

It meant that 80% of them wouldn’t even get any reward even after they become seniors?

“Geniuses world are full of deaths.” Prince Lin Xian looked solemn. “When you walk in this path, you have to be ready to walk on a path that’s filled with blood.”

“Heh, do you think I’m afraid?” Lin Xiao let out light laugh. He smiled mischievously. “Tell me the reward for other ranks first.”

“Oh. I better list it down for you in case you forget about it in the future.”

“Ok.”
