Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 398: Lin Xiao’s Marriage (Chapter 3)

Chapter 398: Lin Xiao’s Marriage (3)

The next morning, Lin Xiao continued his practice as usual. This time, Princess Lan Yi Hua was accompanying him and also followed him in the practice. Even though their movements were different, they still could spar with each other.

So when Lin Yun and the others came to visit, the scene they saw was the couple sparring against each other.

“Did you have to much fun at night that you end up sparring at the morning?” Lin Yun asked speechlessly.

Prince Lin Xian, who had purposely taken the time to visit too, was amused when he saw the two of them already diligently train again. “It couldn’t be that Lin Xiao was so bad that he can’t satisfy her, right?”

“Eh? There’s no way he’ll be lacking in that depart…”

Bang!

The Chilling Lake Sword Qi nearly penetrated through Lin Yun’s hand if only he was not fast enough. Looking at his brother who was annoyed, he smiled and waved his hand. “Brother, how are you?”

“Pretty good.” Lin Xiao put his sword down and looked at his older brother with arched eyebrows. “What are you doing here?”

“Did you forget that in the morning the bride had to greet the groom’s parents? Well, since our parents have died, I choose to come over to give her the red packet.” Prince Lin Xian was speechless at Lin Xiao’s lack of knowledge. But thinking about it more, he knew that his younger brother didn’t live in the upper society for so long. Probably this kind of matter was not that common in the village…

It can’t be, right?

The tradition should have been the same everywhere.

Lin Xiao blinked his eyes then looked at Lin Yun, who tried his best to not laugh. There was indeed that tradition in the village but since he was still a youngster back then, why would he care about such things?

He never paid much attention to it because it was not useful.

Princess Lan Yi Hua smiled bitterly at Lin Xiao’s lack of knowledge. She tugged his sleeve while looking at Prince Lin Xian and Lin Yun. “I’ll bring the tea over. Please have a seat.”

“Yes!”

“Your wife is the best!”

Lin Xiao shot a glare to the two of them, which shut them off. Prince Lin San came when Princess Lan Yi Hua was still preparing tea and seated himself too. Before long, Princess Lan Yi Hua came out and served tea for them as they gave the red packets to her.

Usually it would be jewelries for ordinary people but since they were all cultivators, the two of them prepared weapons and materials. Prince Lin Yan also sent some High Grade Spirit Stones over for Princess Lan Yi Hua as his gift that he delivered through Prince Lin Xian since he couldn’t attend in person.

“Do you really have to come in person?” Lin Xiao asked curiously as he also sat down.

“It’s called etiquette! Etiquette! Do you not know how to be polite with each other?” Prince Lin Xian was speechless. He waved his hand. “Forget it, you’re as idiot as ever.”

Lin Xiao scowled when he heard what his brother said.

Lin Xian smiled. He didn’t come just because Lin Xiao got married obviously. “After the arena battles, the Emperor will welcome guests from Jade Snow Kingdom and Bing Yue kingdom. You and Prince Lin Hong will be appointed to welcome them.”

“What?” Lin Xiao was stunned. He thought that he could finally relax a bit but now, out of nowhere, came such an astounding piece of news.

This…

“Are you sure you’re not wrong? I’m not a person who knew etiquette well.” Lin Xiao was obviously stunned by this.

Prince Lin Xian shook his head. “Unfortunately, this is the truth. There will be a lot of people who wants to see you fail of course, but I’m sure that you will be able to deal with them well.”

“That’s what you said but every kingdom must have different traditions. Are you expecting me to be able to memorize everything completely and act in accordance?” Lin Xiao was speechless. He was a cultivator and not politician, ah! How was he supposed to do that?

“It’s not necessary for you to know all of them.” Prince Lin Xian laughed. “However, I would like to remind you to keep polite demeanor. As for the banquet preparation, I’ll handle it.”

“Can you?” Lin Xiao asked.

Prince Lin Xian nodded. “I’m here to inform you so that you’ll be prepared. The one who will prepare the banquet were naturally not the four princes who had a chance to contend for the crown prince’s position but the other princes under them or even the princess.”

Hearing that, Lin Xiao subconsciously turned to look at Lin Yun. Even though Lin Yun was growing up in the small village, it didn’t erase the fact that he was also of Royalty and naturally a prince.

“Yes, he can help too.”

Lin Yun took a deep breath. “Brother, let me help so that I can familiarize myself with it. While I might not be able to help much regarding the protocol whatsoever, I’m sure that I can make sure that the foods are not poisoned.”

Lin Xiao nodded in agreement. When it come to medicine and poison, other than Wenren Yu, he only trusted Lin Yun. These two were really good at medicine and poison.

“In that case, I’ll leave it to you.”

“I’ll do my best.”

At this point, Princess Lan Yi Hua had returned. Her eyes flickered when she saw them as she smiled faintly. “The teachers are also sending us message, telling us to prepare ourselves for the arena battles in a month’s time.”

“Got it.”

“The banquet will be held a few months afterwards. It seems that my Imperial Father is also preparing for a grand celebration.” Princess Lan Yi Hua’s eyes held mocking expression. It was clear that she knew her father would surely want to use that banquet to announce to the world about Princess Lan Xiao Yue’s participation in the Phoenix inheritance along with the man who was chosen to be her fiancé.

What a joke.
