Chapter 768: The Glowing Guan Tao

The boys nodded and rolled up their sleeves.

Some brought scissors and some brought daggers. They were all used to dig the stove pit.

Fortunately, there was sand in this space. After pouring water, the soil was soft, so it was not difficult to dig.

The others surrounded them curiously. When they heard they were digging a stove pit, they couldn’t help but widen their eyes in surprise.

“Guan Tao, why do you know everything?” A girl couldn’t help but praise.

Guan Tao only smiled and said nothing.

Children of the poor had to take charge early, so they naturally had to learn some life skills. She did not want to know these things, but she had no choice.

Including cooking and making clothes, her mother had influenced her since she was young. Now, she was the one making dinner at home because her parents got off work very late.

“Guan Tao, do you think this depth is okay?”

After digging for a long time, the boys were sweating. They looked up at Guan Tao and asked.

Guan Tao walked forward and placed the iron pot on it. Then, she knelt on the ground and looked into the remaining space through the rectangular ventilation hole.

It was just right.

“Yes.” Guan Tao nodded.

Soon, Lin Yi and the rest ran back with a bundle of branches.

Seeing this, Xia Qinghuan quickly went up to them and asked, “Did you see a snake?”

When Yan Tian heard that, he looked at her in amusement. “Don’t scare yourself. It’s not that easy to encounter that thing.”

Starting a fire was naturally easy for Guan Tao. In her house in South City, Guan Tao’s family had always used a clay stove that needed firewood to start a fire.

First, they placed some easily combustible dry wood in the stove pit. Guan Tao used the waste paper used to store the tent as a fire starter. Fortunately, there were two lighters in the supplies. Otherwise, they would have to retreat to the primitive times and use wood for a fire.

A wave of thick smoke gradually drifted out. Seeing this, Guan Tao quickly picked up a piece of paper and fanned it at the stove pit.

Not long after, there was a whoosh. A tongue of fire suddenly darted out of the pit and instantly ignited the firewood.

“Got it!”

“Damn, she’s too powerful!”

Everyone exclaimed. In their eyes, Guan Tao was glowing.

Jian Ai also looked at her with a smile. Although Peach was low key and modest, she had many hidden skills.

They were both children who grew up in South City. Since her mother and brother spoiled Jian Ai, she did not learn these things.

It was almost noon. Guan Tao added a handful of firewood and placed the iron pot on top. She took out some drinking water from the box and poured it into the pot.

Seeing this, Jian Ai quickly said, “Everyone, take out instant noodles if you have them. It’s more flavorful to cook it with the noodles because other than soy sauce and salt, we don’t have any other seasonings.”

“I have them!”

“Me too!”

“I have some too, and a few ham sausages!”

At this moment, the students suddenly felt a collective sense of honor. They generously turned around and carried back a pile of food.

There were instant noodles, ham, pickled vegetables, braised eggs, and so on.

“Guan Tao, leave the instant noodles bowl for me. I want to use it as a bowl!” Xia Qinghuan suddenly said.

The students also reacted. They did not have bowls and chopsticks!

The chopsticks were still alright. They could find two branches and cut the skin with a knife. How could they eat without bowls? They couldn’t eat it from the pot, right?

Jian Ai’s gaze landed on the empty water bottle. Suddenly, she had an idea. “Everyone, cut the water bottle in the middle. It will become two bowls.”
