The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 2495 – Abdication (Chapter 2)

Chapter 2495: Abdication (2)

The emperor just couldn’t understand, when had his son become so stupid as to cede their country to

others? Although it would be very dicult for the Long Xuan Empire to ght against the Devil Race, the

emperor understood that the devils were not the enemy of their Long Xuan Empire alone, but the enemy

of the whole Radiance Continent. Even if their Long Xuan Empire could not ght o the devil army, Shen

Yanxiao and the other three countries could not just stand idly by. They would certainly help, even if just

for the sake of a human victory.

Long Yue’s decision, in the emperor’s view, was extremely foolish. Obviously, he could use the other three

countries and Shen Yanxiao to save the Long Xuan Empire and his son. Why did he choose the most

unacceptable path?

Shen Yanxiao looked at the furious emperor as if his reaction had long been within her expectations.

Long Yue turned to look at his father. The respect of the past had been replaced by a touch of despair.

That was his father, the king of a country whom he had most respected and admired. He had thought

many times that he would become a powerful king like his father in the future. But now, that mountain he

called ‘father’ standing in front of him had gradually collapsed, and the messy rubble had smashed into

his heart, making his soul ache.

“Father, don’t you understand?” Long Yue’s voice was very light, but it made one feel an unbearable

sadness.

“The Devil Race is indeed not an enemy of our country, but once the war starts, the whole Radiance

Continent will become a battleeld. The Seven Kingdoms, the Divine Wind Alliance, the Lan Yue Dynasty,

and even the Barren Land will usher in the attack of the Devil Race. Even if they are willing to help us fend

the enemy, it is only after they have wiped out the devils in their own territory that they will have the

chance to send troops to aid us. However, the army of our Long Xuan Empire will not be able to hold on

until that time.” Long Yue was really desperate. He would not have made such a choice unless he had to,

but as the crown prince, he could not ignore the lives of the common people.

Shen Yanxiao would denitely send troops, but it was only after she had slaughtered the devils in the

Barren Land that she would have time to rescue the Long Xuan Empire. However, the current situation in

the Long Xuan Empire would not allow them to resist the devils for too long.

Once the war broke out, the Long Xuan Empire would be the rst conquered territory, and then the

people of that empire would also be the targets of the devils’ massacre.

Destroying a country…

The devils had done this before.

Long Yue’s words left the emperor speechless. He stared at his son in a tangle, trying to nd any

suspicious hints from his face.

But unfortunately, Long Yue’s expression was full of sadness.

Shen Yanxiao just looked quietly at the opposition between the two monarchs of the Long Xuan Empire.

“Father, we still have the possibility of living in the Barren Land.” Long Yue closed his eyes and said

something desperate.

The emperor’s shoulders collapsed in an instant and he seemed to have aged by many years in a ash. He

hastily sat down in his chair, looking at all the people in the hall with complicated eyes.

The emperor of the Long Xuan Empire, the ruler of a country, was now reduced to this state.

“Long Yue… You did the right thing…” The emperor said in a hoarse voice. Not that he was no longer

greedy for power, but because he nally understood that only when he was alive could he have all that. If

the Long Xuan Empire were destroyed, even if he still had the title of ‘emperor’, that too would only last

while he was still alive. If he died, everything would disappear.

Territories, statuses, all of it would turn into nothingness.
