The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 2494 – Abdication (Chapter 1)

Chapter 2494: Abdication (1)

Long Yue’s method broke everyone’s glasses. All present here were overlords and rulers who occupied one side of the mainland. After a little

thinking, they could understand Long Yue’s decision to cut o all means of retreat. But if they asked

themselves, perhaps no one could make such a decision so rmly and hand over their own country and territory to others.

For a person sitting in a high position, this was denitely the most dicult decision to make.

In order to protect the people, he was willing to abdicate, give up his high position and glory, and

step down from the position of a ruler.

Long Yue was the only heir to the throne of the Long Xuan Empire. Once his father reached a hundred years old, he would also be the only emperor of the Long Xuan Empire and no one could

threaten him to succeed to the throne. What he was doing today was cutting o his own way out. Within the hall, the sound of discussion rang out in an instant.

It was an indisputable fact that the Long Xuan Empire was already in decline. However, a starved

camel was still bigger than a horse, and the territory and strength of the Long Xuan Empire were

still quite daunting. Even if this decline continued, it would take at least hundreds of years, perhaps even thousands of years, before the Long Xuan Empire would face the crisis of a country’s destruction. However, before that, with the lifespan of human beings, Long Yue would have long been buried in the soil, and the so-called destruction would not be faced by him. But he still chose to do it anyway.

The emperor looked at his son, trembling. He never dreamed that Long Yue’s method would be like

this. He was lled with anger and unreconciliation and wanted to rush up and beat up Long Yue, but he dared not act rashly in front of Shen Yanxiao. He had worked his hardest to make the Long Xuan Empire have more, but his son chose the opposite path from him, handing over the reins of the Long Xuan Empire to others, which the

emperor could not bear at all.

Shen Yanxiao looked at Long Yue, once a naive boy who made people feel ridiculous. He had unwittingly become a man with great courage and a sense of responsibility, able to make such a decision. Shen Yanxiao truly believed that what Long Yue cared about was not his safety as the heir

to the throne but the safety of the common people in the country. With such boldness and vision, Long Yue was already prepared to be a leader.

“Do you really desire this? If the Long Xuan Empire belongs to me, you will no longer be the prince of the Long Xuan Empire, and your original splendor and wealth, as well as your noble status, will be gone.” Shen Yanxiao raised the corners of her lip and looked at Long Yue with a smile.

“My country is already in a crisis; how can I, as crown prince, still care about my own reputation? The Long Xuan Empire is not strong enough to resist the invasion of the Devil Race. As crown

prince, if I can’t defend my homeland, can’t protect my people, then I would rather not be a prince. As a ruler who enjoys the respect of the common people and sits above a vast territory, naturally, I also have the obligation to protect my people. But since I cannot protect them, I should give up my position.” Long Yue looked at Shen Yanxiao calmly and unwaveringly.

“Long Yue is talking nonsense! Pei Yuan! Do you know why he has such silly thoughts?” The

emperor couldn’t listen any more. When did his son become so muddle-headed? Pei Yuan slowly opened his eyes and looked at the furious emperor. His eyes were full of sorrow.

“Your majesty, what Prince Long Yue is doing is the only way to save our Long Xuan Empire. When

the devil army resurfaces in the Radiance Continent, with the strength of our Long Xuan Empire, we

simply have no ability to ght back.” Pei Yuan spoke in a small voice.

“What are you talking about?! Fighting the devils is not a matter of my Long Xuan Empire!” The

emperor angrily shouted.
