The Good for Nothing Seventh Young Lady Chapter 1489 – The First Battle (Chapter 1)

Chapter 1489 – The First Battle (1)

The forces of the four-nation alliance were moving towards the Barren Land, and even without prior agreement,

they all knew very well that if they wanted to destroy the forces of Shen Yanxiao, then they must break The Rising

Sun City. Only the fall of The Rising Sun City could completely eliminate the foundation of Shen Yanxiao in the

Barren Land.

With the expansion of Shen Yanxiao’s forces, all the cities in the eastern region had been taken down, spreading to

the other three regions. The quickest way to break through the line of defense of the enemy and enter the road to

The Rising Sun City was at the border of the eastern region.

“I heard that Shen Yanxiao already knows of our actions, and she has transferred all the people in the cities to the

five main cities. Is she planning to give up all the cities and defend the main cities?” Jiang Wan sat in the carriage

and looked at the map of the Barren Land. According to the area marked in the map, the first city they would attack

was the outermost city, Del City.

Del City was a small city that was not worth mentioning before millions of troops.

Inside the carriage, Long Yue had his head lowered with his face cloudy and uncertain.

Jiang Wan glanced at His Royal Highness, and felt somewhat speechless in his heart.

The emperor wanted to let Long Yue have a military achievement during this time, and he could understand this

point. After all, the emperor had only one heir to the throne of the Long Xuan Empire.

However, since Long Yue arrived, the number of words he had said to him could be counted on his fingers. It was

like putting a hot face on a cold ass[1] and Jiang Wan also could do nothing about it.

[1] Means the other party doesn’t bother with you or care about you.

Jiang Wan had been very used to receiving no response from Long Yue. He said, “Del City’s defenses should not be

high. After all, the cities under Shen Yanxiao’s hands, except for The Rising Sun City, have been constructed in a

very short time. According to the result of the investigation of our spies, the humans in Del City have all evacuated.

As for the demons, there was no exact news, and no one has heard of human beings entering the defense of Del City

either. Aside from the several pieces of artillery on the city gate tower, Del City does not have any resistance. Prince

Long Yue, please rest assured that your safety will be guaranteed here.”

Long Yue slightly knitted his brows. A word from Jiang Wan finally elicited a reaction from him.

“Spy?”

Jiang Wan said, “Yes. In fact, after the expansion of Shen Yanxiao’s forces, the emperor had since intended to guard

against it. Some trusted aides have already broken away from their nationality as the citizens of Long Xuan Empire

and joined the Barren Land. They have been investigating the Barren Land cities during this time, and have recently

sent information to the emperor. Actually, not only our Long Xuan Empire, but the other three countries should have

also sent spies to infiltrate the Barren Land.”

Indulgence did not mean ignorance. The four countries maintained a neutral attitude toward the expansion of Shen

Yanxiao’s forces, but this did not mean that they knew nothing about the movements in the Barren Land.

Long Yue looked at Jiang Wan.

“Can you estimate how long it will take until we can attack The Rising Sun City?”

Jiang Wan answered, “If Shen Yanxiao gives up the defense of other cities and directly guards the five main cities,

we would not have to fight at all on the road, and we would be able to reach The Rising Sun City as soon as half a

month from now.”

“That fast?” There was a hint of surprise in Long Yue’s eyes.

Jiang Wan smiled and said, “This is the quickest time. But if I were Shen Yanxiao, I would also stick to the main

cities. If I used and wasted my strength in a small city, then The Rising Sun City would not be able to keep up. Even

if she assembled her battle line at that time, they would also need to put their all into the fight.”

“Is that so.” Long Yue once again lowered his head and seemed to be no longer interested in this topic.

Jiang Wan looked at the scenery outside the window and said slowly, “We are going to reach Del City soon.”
