Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 194: Attracting Attention (Chapter 2)

Chapter 194: Attracting Attention (2)

Lin Xiao passed a glance at his younger brother and shrugged. “How should I know? Maybe good, maybe not.”

He glanced to the front where a young man was attempting the second one only to be kicked out right away. It seemed that to be able to stay for some time in the second step was already quite good.

“She’s on the third step!”

“Woah! Would she last long?”

Princess Lan Xiao Yue was already on the third step, but only one leg. It seemed as if she was struggling to stay as long as possible before her body jerked and leap back in beautiful arc. There was sweat on her attractive voice as she controlled her breath.

“The third stage is really difficult,” her melodious voice sounded helpless.

“That’s fine, Princess.”

“Yes. you’re already very amazing to be able to pass the second stage.”

“Your Highness, please accept my heartfelt admiration.”

Lin Xiao watched everyone trying to butter up Princess Lan Xiao Yue and chose to ignore them. In any case, he had no interest to get close to that princess. Even if she was good, but he always disliked those type of girls who acted like they were the best and looked down on everyone else.

Swish!

Many more tried and Su Luo was only watching from the side. She nodded in satisfaction when she saw the result from Princess Lan Xiao Yue and also Lin Hong. The two of them were really great. Back then, Princess Lin Fei’s performance didn’t even lose out from the two of them when he first joined.

She glanced to another group and furrowed her brows when she saw Princess Lan Yi Hua, who was standing with her head lowered. She waved her hand. “There’s no need for you to try. You can’t even pass the stairs back then.”

Princess Lan Yi Hua raised her head then looked down before stepped away. Lin Xiao looked at the teacher with a frown. Even if she couldn’t pass the stairs back then, why didn’t she let her tried again?

“Brother…” Lin Yun was about to warn his brother when he heard Lin Xiao speak.

“Just try it. There’s nothing wrong with testing if you want to find out,” Lin Xiao said with cheerful tone.

Teacher Su Luo looked at Lin Xiao and arched her eyebrows in displeasure. To think that there would be someone who go against her words for another student. “What’s your name, Brat?”

“Lin Xiao,” Lin Xiao replied fearlessly.

“Lin Xiao?” Teacher Su Luo browsed the data he had and then smirked. “You’re nothing more than a country bumpkin who’s only at Body Training Stage rank 10. What makes you think that you’re qualified to go against my word?”

“I’m not going against you, Teacher. I’m only saying that the entrance test is already a few days ago so is it not possible for her to have an advancement? Denying a student’s right to do the test when you said that we all can do the test is strange, Teacher.”

Actually, Lin Xiao wanted to scold the teacher in front of him, but he knew that if he let his mouth run off, he would be the one getting punishment.

Teacher Su Luo looked at Lin Xiao with disdain. “You think you know the right thing? If you wish to be associated with this trash, it means you’re also a trash with no future. You don’t need to do the test either.”

Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes. “Are you kicking me out of the class, Teacher?”

“Yes.” Teacher Su Luo pursed her lips and raised her chin.

“It seems that Teacher Su Luo is a teacher who’s always right and hated low talent students. I might not have much background, but I know for sure that I’m also a cultivator. What makes you think that a cultivator with low background like me will never achieve anything?” Lin Xiao asked back, his voice was calm and indifferent yet there was a hint of rage beneath it.

He didn’t mind being insulted for having low background because it was the truth. He lived at the small village for most of his life before he could enter the capital city and attended the test back then. However, being called as a trash without future was a bit too much.

“Achieve anything?” Teacher Su Luo laughed out loudly. She looked at Lin Xiao and shook her head. “Brat, do you really think that you can walk around freely without background. In just a few years, you’ll realize the difference in background meant everything. You’re nothing more than a trash that will become a stepping stone.”

Stepping stone?

Right now, even Sui Wenyan was annoyed. She also didn’t have much background and lived her life normally before attending the academy. In fact, she used to be a runaway because of her connection to Taiyi Sect. But she would also not accept being insulted to be nothing more than a stepping stone.

The teacher in front of them seemed to be highly favoring those with good background and have good talent, but she admonished those with poor talent and poor background.

No, she was simply bullying those without backing.

“Teacher is saying that a cultivator’s future is determined by their background? On what grounds are you saying that?” Lin Xiao couldn’t stand it anymore. “There are a lot of powerful cultivators who start from having nothing then make their name on their path. Just because we have low background it didn’t mean that we’re going to always stay at the bottom of the ladder!”

Teacher Su Luo sneered. “There might be others, but those with poor character like you will never make it past the stage. You’re doomed to be nothing more than a stepping stone.”

“Since you’re so confident, why don’t we make a bet?” Lin Xiao asked back.

“A bet?”

“I’ll pass the examination each year. Isn’t there the examination ground each year?” Lin Xiao said with a smile.
