Chapter 762: Really Pregnant

However, Guan Tao was alone at the stern. No one deliberately paid attention to her, so no one saw what had happened.

In the end, because the police could not find any clues or strong evidence, they could not lock onto the suspect. In addition, Guan Tao was in a feverish state and was not in good spirits, so the police also wondered if she was hallucinating because she was too frightened.

After two to three hours, the two police officers recorded statements and left.

However, this news spread among the students. Guan Tao from Class One fell into the water because someone pushed her off the rails.

The police returned empty-handed, making Jian Ai and the rest even more worried.

Guan Tao smiled and comforted the others. “Don’t worry. It didn’t work, but we called the police, so that person should be afraid. Look at all of you frowning. If I had known, I wouldn’t have said anything.”

Feeling that she had caused trouble for them, Guan Tao blamed herself.

Xia Qinghuan sighed and said, “We’re all children of fifteen or sixteen years old. Why is someone so black-hearted? They are killing people!”

Not that she wanted to think of her classmates as vicious people, but this was the second time this had happened. Jian Ai was an example.

Jian Ai’s expression was also not good. Since the police had no choice, they could only be more careful.

“Tao Zi, stay by my side during this period. You can’t go anywhere alone, understand?” Jian Ai said coldly.

Guan Tao nodded obediently. “Alright, I won’t go anywhere. I’ll stick to you.”

Perhaps because of the effects of the medicine after the IV, and because she did not rest well last night, Guan Tao quickly fell asleep.

In the middle, classmates came over to visit her, but Xia Qinghuan blocked them all.

At around three in the afternoon, Guan Tao woke up faintly. She was drenched in sweat and her fever had subsided.

However, her body was a little weak, and her expression was not good.

However, with the fever gone, everyone was relieved.

“Are there no activities in the afternoon?” Guan Tao leaned against the bed frame and asked.

Xia Qinghuan couldn’t help but smile when she heard that. “You’re already so ill. How would we still be in the mood to take part in the activity? Teacher Sun asked us to stay and take care of you.”

Jian Ai was afraid that Guan Tao’s imagination would run wild again, so she immediately changed the topic and asked, “Are you hungry? I’ll get you something to eat from the restaurant.”

Guan Tao shook her head. “I’m not hungry. I don’t have an appetite.”

“Then lie down and rest more. After you recuperate, you can keep up with tomorrow’s progress,” Jian Ai said.

…

On the other hand, not long after Li Xia finished her examination, the results were out. She was pregnant!

She finally had her child and could cover up the lie she told the old lady. Li Xia returned to the shop excitedly with the report.

As soon as she entered, she almost blurted it out. When she saw Old Madam Wang sitting at the counter, Li Xia quickly stopped.

The old lady stood up when she saw Li Xia. “Xia, what’s wrong? I heard from Yunfa that you went to the hospital early in the morning. Is the child okay?”

She seemed to be concerned about Li Xia, but she was actually worried about the child in her stomach.

Li Xia was in a good mood, so she did not argue with her. Moreover, she knew very well what kind of person the old lady was.

“Mom, don’t worry. The child is fine. I just felt unwell and went for a checkup,” Li Xia said softly.

When the old lady heard this, she felt relieved and continued to nag. “You’re pregnant now. You have to be careful about everything. If you have a headache or a fever, you have to tell Mom. Mom is experienced and knows what to do.”

Li Xia smiled and nodded. She looked around the stall. “Where’s Yunfa?”
