“Hey, you child, that’s not an issue! Since you guys are roommates and stay in the same room, you should learn to give in a little more and don’t squabble over every little thing.”

Zhang Manhua sighed in relief while shaking her head in amusement.

At this, her daughter nudged her lips and continued ‘complaining’.

“Mom, you don’t know how selfish that roommate is. I get scolded if I do something not to that person’s liking and get ordered around a lot! That roommate is a terrible person! Also…”

Zhang Manhua thought at first that her daughter’s roommate was very unreliable, but as she listened and observing her daughter’s expression, she could not help laughing.

Pei Ge, who was agitatedly talking, paused at her mother’s laughter.

“Mom, what are you laughing at?” She blinked and gave her mother a look of confusion, not getting what her mother was laughing about.

“Ha ha! Ge Ge, do you hate or like your roommate?” her mother asked between laughter.

“Huh? Of course, it’s hate!” She paused for a bit before answering quickly.

“Oh? Why can’t I see that you hate your roommate, then?” Her mother teased with her.

“Ah?” She was dumbfounded.

“It looks like you, child, looks have been living pretty well in your company’s dormitory.” Zhang Manhua continued to laugh at her daughter’s dazed look.

Although her daughter was complaining about her roommate, her expression definitely did not display any hate!

Have I really been living well with Ji Ziming? she mumbled to herself.

All right. She appeared that she had actually been cohabiting finely this week.

Ever since that first night the man came home late and she locked him outside, they had actually been living together under that implemented ‘house rule’.

From then on, the man never returned home late. Even if he did not have dinner at home, he would still rush back home before 10 PM.

She did not get why he would follow this rule, though. After all…

He was not like her who lived with her mother. He lived alone, so even if he was locked outside, he could still return to his house to sleep. It should not matter to him whether she locked the door or not.

Still, she was unsure if it was her hallucination, but she felt that he seemed to be seriously following this ‘house rule’.

In all honesty, she was actually pretty happy regarding him following this ‘house rule’.

What was depressing, though, was that the annoying fellow liked to order her around a lot! As long as he was home, he would keep ordering her around! It was as if she were his maid!

“Ge Ge? Ge Ge, what are you thinking so deeply about?” Noticing her inattentiveness, Zhang Manhua asked her this.

“It’s nothing. I was just thinking… I really don’t seem to hate my roommate that much.” She smiled vaguely, hiding her thoughts.

“He he. Properly get along with your roommate. If your roommate is lazy, then be more hardworking. Anyway, it’s not as if you guys will be living together forever. You’re colleagues and will be seeing each other every day temporarily, so just get along well with that roommate.” Her mother unsuspectingly told her this.

She obediently nodded. “Okay.”

That’s the right attitude I should have. Except for letting that annoying fellow have his way, what else can I do? Anyway, it’s not like I’ll be living together with him for my entire life.

She sat at home and chatted with her mother for a while. At 8 PM, after they had dinner together, she finally left to make her way to the house she and the man shared.

She did not call Li Qi to fetch. Instead, she waited for a bus to board at the bus stop.

“Hoo…” She expended an air of relief while gazing up at the stars in the night sky.

Ever since she started cohabiting with that annoying fellow, it appeared that she had not had the time to appreciate the night scenery.

Her daily life was exceptionally rigid and regular.

Every day, she attended classes until 5 PM at Bauhinia Court and went home inside Li Qi’s car afterward.

Once she was at home, she would have dinner with the man and be ordered around by him…

Sigh! I just realize that my life is a tad boring, and it almost revolves around Ji Ziming!

She nudged her mouth gloomily at that. “No way. Such a life is too stifling.”

I can’t live my life following such a monotonous schedule. I need to make it colorful and have my life!

Thinking up to this point, she boarded the bus heading in the direction of her and that man’s house of cohabitation.

Kachak!

She took out her key from her handbag and opened the door to the villa. The moment she entered, her cat started darting between her legs.

“Purr!” The cat affectionately rubbed itself against her legs while purring.

“Pudding, I’m back!” She happily greeted it.

Changing into her shoes, she picked up the cat and walked into the living room.

Surprisingly, she found the man, who should not be home at this time, reading a book with a coffee in hand in the living room sofa.

Juggling a coffee with one hand and a book in another, he looked totally the part of a refined young master. Unfortunately, she was not in the mood to admire him.

“It’s already 9 PM; why are you drinking coffee?”

She walked to the man and pointed this out in displeasure.

The hand holding the coffee paused. He then took another sip, as if not hearing her at all.

Noting his act of ignoring her and recalling these few days she had faithfully been serving this young master, she was immediately enraged!

“Hey, Ji Ziming, I’m talking to you! Don’t you hear me?!”

With that, she reached her hand out to snatch the cup of coffee away from him.

In her anger, she completely forgot that she still had a fat cat in her embrace. Hence…

“Meow!”

“Ahhh!” As the cat tried to escape her embrace, she lost her balance and started toppling over to the man.
