She thought Wei Zhiqian was trying to trick her with his choice of words into thinking that he wouldn’t marry anyone.

The reason he could start doing something like that was that he noticed Tan Mo wasn’t crying because she was sad anymore. Instead, she was plainly making a scene because she was completely drunk.

Thus, he could take his time.

However, no matter how much the lady thrashed around or cried, Wei Zhiqian still found her cute.

He was willing to stay by her side until she sobered up.

“No. I promise.” Wei Zhiqian laughed wryly.

“You promise you won’t like another woman or marry another woman? You better remember it!” Tan Mo wailed. “If you go against your words, then… Then…”

Wei Zhiqian patiently waited for her to finish her sentence.

After what seemed like a long time, she finally said, “Then, you won’t be able to have babies!”

The thought of making babies made her already red face even redder.

“Okay. I promise you.” He nodded and paused for a second before adding, “But if you don’t let me like anyone else or marry anyone else, then what happens when you have you have your own family one day? I would be alone. Isn’t that too much?”

Tan Mo was shocked by his statement and raised her head to look at him.

She just kept staring at him and would blink from time to time.

“How are you going to compensate for that?” Wei Zhiqian asked.

“Compensate?” Tan Mo blinked again and suddenly found an answer. “If you don’t marry someone else, then… I won’t marry anyone else either! I will stay single forever to be with you!”

The lady then sobbed, worried that Wei Zhiqian didn’t like her idea since he did not respond to her. She rubbed her head on his chest and said, “You won’t marry another woman, and I won’t marry another man. I’ll stay with you forever.”

Wei Zhiqian was utterly confused by her answer. He couldn’t understand what her real intention for promising him that was or what kind of feelings she had for him.

“But…” Wei Zhiqian said and paused, making Tan Mo look at him nervously. “I still need to have a normal life, right?”

He decided to take the risk and say something that he had never said to her.

Now that the lady had grown up, he couldn’t help but wonder when she would finally learn about what being in a relationship really meant or how a couple interacted.

However, Wei Zhiqian did not have the patience to wait any longer. Thinking now that Tan Mo was already 18 years old, he believed that she would have or should have known about all that stuff already.

“I’m not young anymore. I’ve never touched a woman in my life for the past 20 years, but there will be times that I can’t hold my urges back. Those kinds of urges aren’t that easy to hold back, you know?” Wei Zhiqian replied. One of his hands was on Tan Mo’s shoulder while the other had already unconsciously wrapped around her waist, holding her down on the spot where he felt tight and tense.

Tan Mo’s body froze when he said that. She gasped as her eyes widened.

Wei Zhiqian raised a brow. Judging from her reaction, he guessed that she understood what he meant.

“What should I do then?” he continued to ask in a hoarse voice.

He had decided to show that even he had desires.

Yet, he also regretted coming to that decision.

He had the urge to forget about everything and make Tan Mo his.

After a moment of silence, Tan Mo let out a loud wail again.

“Uncle! Y-you! Did you go find another woman when you couldn’t hold yourself back?” she cried.

The thought of Wei Zhiqian sleeping with another woman angered her.

All she could feel in her heart was rage and pain.

The man she had loved so much was touched and used by another woman.

Her cry only got worse after that.

Wei Zhiqian did not expect that Tan Mo would express all of her emotions like that after getting drunk.

No matter how much Wei Zhiqian patted her head or tried to comfort her, she wouldn’t stop crying.

He was literally punching himself on his face in his head, yelling at himself for being an idiot.

Tan Mo would not stop crying after that, to the point where the man even wondered if she had been saving all her tears up for the past 18 years.

“Momo, you are going to hurt your throat like this.” Wei Zhiqian was worried about the most, that her throat would hurt from all the crying.

“I won’t. I can heal myself,” Tan Mo said as she sobbed.

Wei Zhiqian had completely forgotten about that and sighed. “Didn’t I say I’ve never touched another woman in my life?”

“Then, will you do that in the future?”

“I won’t,” Wei Zhiqian said.

‘Well, except for you, of course,’ the man thought.

“What? Do you not believe me now?” Wei Zhiqian asked as if he was whispering.

Tan Mo had no idea when Wei Zhiqian started resting his cheek on her forehead.

When he spoke, his lips would move along with it. Tan Mo felt his cheek moving up on down through her forehead. It was soft and warm.

The moment she felt the heat from his lips, her head was starting to heat up again.

Her ears were completely red as if they had been baking inside an oven for hours.
