As they were in a lively chatter, the elevator door slid wide open.

It made him want to kiss her right then while holding her in his arms. That would give her something indecent enough to make her feel properly ashamed.

“You kept your face hidden.” Wei Zhiqian chuckled.

“I heard Manager Wang’s voice.” Tan Mo had a great memory. “Though my face was hidden, I’m sure Manager Wang could still tell it was me.”

“And it’s not like you brought another woman to work today,” Tan Mo muttered softly.

“That’s not necessarily true. Manager Wang might think you already left. I could’ve gone and brought another woman here,” Wei Zhiqian replied with a smirk.

It was meant to be a joke but hearing that made Tan Mo so furious that she lifted her head.

With puffing cheeks, she asked, “Do you always bring women in and out of the office?”

Was he such a promiscuous man?

Tan Mo was infuriated.

Wei Zhiqian was at a loss for words.

“I was just teasing you,” Wei Zhiqian explained immediately. “I don’t know any other women besides you. Who would I possibly bring to work?”

“Haven’t you been on quite a few dates?” Tan Mo quickly questioned.

She remembered it all.

Wei Zhiqian bit his tongue for digging his own grave. He had completely forgotten about all his dates.

At that moment, he regretted that he ever agreed to his mother’s matchmaking.

“I don’t remember any of them. I don’t think they made much of an impression,” Wei Zhiqian said coldly. “Anyway, I don’t remember anyone other than you.”

Wei Zhiqian took a deep breath and answered her sincerely. “I was just joking earlier. Besides you, I’ve never brought anyone to my workplace. I’m barely acquainted with any other women. Who could I even bring?”

“Would you bring them if you were more acquainted?” Tan Mo did not know what was going on with her either. She just felt like bickering with Wei Zhiqian, picking on anything about him that she could.

“I’m just not acquainted, don’t want to be, and am not trying to be.” Wei Zhiqian was not the least bit triggered. In fact, he was slightly pleased. “That is why it’ll never happen. I’m not even considering the thought of it.”
