Chapter 55: Could Not

When MinFeng arrived at the presentation room, everyone was already sitting on their corresponding chair.

When they saw him and YanRong arrived, they stood up and saluted.

“Chairman Lu. Miss YanRong.”

“Enn.. Sit down everybody.”

He sat at the very front of the table while YanRong sat on his left side.

She leaned her head forward and whispered,

“The presentation was okay but there are problems with implementing it.”

They way YanRong twisted her body while whispering to MinFeng did not escape from the eyes of the employees.

When both YanRong and MinFeng were talking, the employees could not help but stare at them.

YanRong was a beautiful maiden while MinFeng was a handsome man.

Both of them were suited for each other.

One look and everyone could see that they were like a celestial couple.

(A/N: Meehh.. She’s not even fit to carry FengJiu’s shoes!)

They were born for each other.

Like Yin and Yang.

The woman was pure and white, like the snow falling from the sky.

The man was firm and majestic, like a sturdy bamboo swaying in a cold wind.

The employees could not help but think that few years from now, YanRong would be their Future Mistress.

YanRong felt the employees’ stares and she blushed.

All the men inside the room almost melted after they saw YanRong’s blushing face.

While all the females present were feeling envious of her because she was very close with their boss.

MinFeng realized that the room was very quiet.

He put down the files he was reading a while ago and stared at them.

“What? Proceed.”

MinFeng was very oblivious of his employees thoughts.

His mind was wandering and thinking of FengJiu.

“What are you waiting for? Proceed! We must finish everything in an hour.”

He wanted to finish his work early so he could go back to his beloved wife.

When YanRong saw his indifference, she could not help but bite her lips.

She inhaled a couple of times before smiling sweetly.

“Yes. We must finish this in an hour. Chairman Lu still has something to do later.”

She turned her head and looked at MinFeng.

“Should I get a reservation at Magnifico tonight?”

MinFeng froze.

Afterwards, he nodded.

MinFeng forgot that they have to meet up with a new investor who loved Italian cuisine so they should hold their meeting in an Italian restaurant.

“Enn.. Set a dinner reservation.”

MinFeng went back to reading those business proposals he was holding.

He wanted to return at FengJiu’s side but it seems like he could only call her and tell her to sleep without him tonight.

It was a normal business meeting but when the employees heard YanRong said those words, they thought that both of them already promised to accompany each other tonight.

They could only lament between MinFeng’s and YanRong’s ambiguous relationship.

FengJiu waited for MinFeng’s arrival.

She wanted to call him but she vetoed the idea because she knew that he was very busy with his work.

*ticktock*

*ticktock*

Hours passed by instantly.

It was already nine o’clock in the evening but MinFeng was still outside.

FengJiu felt anxious.

‘What if something happened to him?’

MinFeng did not send her any text message.

She could not help but think negative things.

She knew MinFeng.

Everytime he’s not with her, he always send text messages and called her every now and then.

But tonight was different.

No call.

No text message.

Nothing at all.

FengJiu subconsciously bit her finger while thinking of MinFeng.

Her phone vibrated.

She immediately grabbed it hoping that it was MinFeng.

But she was wrong.

It was an email.

From an unknown email address.

It was very suspicious.

FengJiu did not want to open it but curiosity really kills the cat.

She clicked the email and saw some pictures.

It was MinFeng.

Half-hugging a woman in white dress.

The woman in white dress was leaning on his chest while one of his hands was holding her shoulder.

FengJiu’s grip on her phone tightened.

She could not properly see the woman’s face but she could tell it was that ‘YanRong’.

She took a deep breath a couple of times.

She knew that whoever sent her the email wanted to destroy her and MinFeng’s relationship.

She knew.

Still, she could not help but feel angry at MinFeng.

MinFeng did not like touching other people especially women but based on what she saw on those pictures, he was already half-hugging-half-touching that woman in white dress.

She could not help but feel jealous. She wanted to scratch that woman’s face.

She did not know if it was because of her pregnancy but her emotions were very intense.

She wanted to throw things.

She wanted to stab people.

She wanted to scream as loud as possible.

‘Why? Why was MinFeng hugging that woman?

Did he leave me here just to be with her?

Will he spend his night together with that woman and won’t come back here tonight?’

FengJiu bit her lips.

She touched her tummy to calm herself.

She did not know when but she fell asleep while thinking of MinFeng and his ‘betrayal’.

She woke up when she felt that someone laid down on the bed beside her.

She knew it was MinFeng but she did not care.

She was angry at him.

She moved away from him.

When MinFeng tried to wrap his arms around her waist, she immediately flicked his arms away from her body.

She turned her back on him.

MinFeng froze.

He knew she was angry.

But he did not know why.

Maybe because he came back late?

Maybe because he did not send any text messages?

Maybe because he did not call her?

MinFeng sighed.

It’s not that ‘he did not’ but rather, ‘he could not’.

His phone went missing and he only found it later on. It was under his chair.

He was very sure that he already looked under his chair a couple of times but he did not see his phone until the end of their meeting.

MinFeng kissed FengJiu’s shoulder repeatedly.

“FengJiu..”

FengJiu turned her head and glared at him.

“You are disturbing Little Bump’s rest.”

She scooted away from him and covered her body with a blanket.

MinFeng could only scratch his head while looking at her back.
