Lyrick Jiang nodded after receiving the order and took a step forward to drag her out before his boss would personally strangle her for using such tactics. Alas, at the same time, Laurel Wang’s voice reached them just when Lyrick Jiang approached Stella Du’s white as a sheet complexion.

“Mr. Jiang—” Laurel Wang who was deliberately being ignored by Lyrick Jiang called out. However, all she received from Ethan Lu’s assistant was a cold side glance before he sternly spoke with a blank tone.

“Miss Wang, I’m sorry but I will only listen to my master and these are his orders. Hence, it should be executed without delay.”

“Lyrick…” Seeing this side of Lyrick Jiang, Lexi was quite surprised by his audacity. She wasn’t surprised that Ethan Lu would be heartless even after hearing Stella Du’s pleas and swallowing her strong pride.

‘Okay, goddess~!’ When Lyrick Jiang heard Lexi’s voice, he stopped. After all, Lexi was his mistress and Ethan Lu was his master. Therefore, even if she only called his name, he instinctively stopped without a word or question.

“Miss Wang, I respect you and your father, Senator Wang. But, I don’t appreciate your interruption. If you are displeased by my actions, then, that’s your choice— I have no say in that.” Casting Laurel Wang a blank stare, Ethan Lu firmly responded. “Badmouthing Lexi is just the same as badmouthing me. So, I take Miss Du’s offense as a direct insult to me. I won’t forgive anyone who tries or even had a thought of harming MY WOMAN— physically or emotionally.”

Upon hearing him say the stressed words “my woman”, although it was already obvious, everyone around were utterly speechless. After all, he just confirmed his relationship with Lexi without a second’s hesitation. To them, he was an oddly private person and saying such stuff that he never said before nor this overly protective in his actions, it was enough to shock this image they had of him as a former casanova.

Granted that Ethan Lu had a long list of ex-girlfriends, alas, he never actually called them his. Everyone just assumed that they were his former lovers just because they were with him or rather linking arms with each other. Still, to say such words with a tone full of conviction, one could tell that the man who was talking was certain that their relationship would last forever.

Meanwhile, among the crowd, Aubrey Ning could not help but scoff at herself. The moment she witnessed Ethan Lu kiss the back of Lexi’s hand, she was taken aback. What more? His validation of his relationship with Lexi made Aubrey Ning feel like she was played by him.

“Gosh… he’s really sly.” She whispered in between her faint scoff while slightly shaking her head sideways. “Fortunately, her work is worthy. Was this his compensation for playing word games with me?” Aubrey Ning added. Fortunately, her deal with Lexi was purely dealt with both party’s mutual interest. Furthermore, she was rather on the win with the Lu Corporation backing her new business partner. Therefore, she could only chuckle by this turn of events as she dissed her toughest competitor, Benjamin Shao as she was sure she would surpass him in the nearest future.

“Ethan, stop.” Upon her observation and hearing that Laurel Wang was Senator Wang’s daughter and knowing that Ethan Lu was about to put a bad memory with his relationship to the Wang family because of her, Lexi intervened.

“Love,” A heavy sigh escaped his mouth as his defense wall instantly shattered with just a word from Lexi. “*sigh* Alright, let’s talk about it some other time.”

Laurel Wang could not help but grit her teeth because her words seemed to take no effect on Ethan Lu. On the other hand, Lexi only said one word and he stopped— even his assistant was listening to her! Just what witchcraft did she use to put them under her spell?

“I’m sorry, Eli. But, we can’t help it.” Chuckling as she humored Elliot Gong, Lexi wrapped her arms around Ethan Lu without thinking of the gossip or scandal that was bound to exit this venue, as she was proud to be able to read her name beside the love of her life and the father of her child.
