Song Fang went out of the class to take a breather after the class ended.

Wang Yu took a seat beside Fu Zhi and asked, his voice thick with worry, “Sister Zhi, in case you don’t know about it, our school’s academic performance is not as good as Gu Yuan and Qi Heng in Yu City. In particular, Class 21 has been the black sheep of the school, so how are we supposed to win against those elite schools?

“Besides, I heard that some students from Class 1 and Class 2 are joining those two schools as well, which is going to put all of us in an even more difficult position.”

Fu Zhi was typing something on the keyboard and she was wearing headphones. It seemed that she was talking to someone as she said, “Nope. I can’t get it. Sorry, I can’t accept the mission.”

A sigh could be heard from the other side of the line. “The Ouyang Family is going down the hill. They could’ve spent their effort in other matters, yet they chose to investigate Ouyang Zhui’s child. How is there any possibility that Ouyang Zhui would have a child? He died before he could even get married. Anyway, thank you for your time. You can take some rest now.”

After that, Fu Zhi took off the headphones and turned to Wang Yu. “Why? You don’t believe in me?”

Wang Yu shook his head. “No. It’s just that our opponents are too strong, and unless pigs can fly, there’s no way I can pass my exams.”

Who did not want to get good grades? He also hoped that he could perform well in his studies, but considering his level of intelligence, it would be a pipe dream. He said, “It goes without saying that I want to get good grades as well, but the problem is that I can’t do it.”

“Yes, you can,” Fu Zhi replied, “Don’t look down on yourself, Wang Yu. Everyone in this class, including you, has a lot of potential.”

Wang Yu was lost at words.

Truth be told, Fu Zhi had a basic grasp of the situation in Class 21. The reason they could not catch up to the other classes was that they did not have a good foundation. Therefore, all she needed to do was to strengthen their foundation, and they would be good to go.

Besides, not all of the students in Class 21 did badly in their studies. Students such as Zhou Zihuai and Zhou Tingting had outstanding grades.

Fu Zhi then continued, “Besides, have you forgotten about Zhou Zihuai? He’s pretty good as well, so don’t count your chickens before they hatch. You guys are not as bad as you think.”

“That’s because…” Wang Yu shouted. However, he came to a sudden stop when he realized that everyone was looking at them. He cleared his throat, pitched his voice low, and continued, “That’s because he’s not from Class 21. He’s originally a Class 1 student, and he only came to Class 21 because the boys in Class 1 bullied him. Zhou Zihuai’s family is poor. Every time when we have a parent meeting, the parents of those rich kids would compare them to Zhou Zihui, saying that they couldn’t even perform better than a kid from a poor family. Then, those kids would pull Zhou Zihuai into the restroom and give him a good beating…

“Of course, you’d ask why Zhou Zihuai doesn’t want to report to the teachers. He did, but Qian Wenrui sided with those rich kids and asked him to stay quiet. Not only that, but she also told his parents that he has bipolar. Zhou Zihuai couldn’t stand it anymore, so he deliberately failed all his exams during his junior year and got kicked to Class 21. Also, I heard that Zhou Zihuai’s father died a long time ago, and his mother has remarried.”

This was also the reason why he went to great lengths to help Fu Zhi during the English public speaking competition when she first arrived at No.1 High School. To put it bluntly, he thought Fu Zhi was like him. She had lost her father, and she had no other choice but to live below the Lu Family’s fence.

Other people might think that Zhou Zihuai had a thing on Fu Zhi, but none of the students in Class 21 suspected that he liked her. This was because they knew Zhou Zihuai’s past.

After all, as a boy who grew up in a broken family, he knew very well that he could not give anyone a good future. Therefore, he chose not to fall in love with anyone and decided to spend the rest of his life alone.

Wang Yu rested his arm on Fu Zhi’s table and continued, “Although Zhou Zihuai looks normal, Song Fang told me that his stepfather is an alcoholic and he would beat him up every time he finished drinking. All in all, Zhou Zihuai’s family conditions can’t be compared with yours.”

Fu Zhi squinted her eyes.

“Alright, enough talking. I’m going to fill my stomach,” Wang Yu said, “Don’t tell Zhou Zihuai everything that I told you today. He has a strong sense of pride, and he doesn’t want other people to know about his condition.”

…

At night, He Ming and his group had already left No.1 High School.

Fu Zhi walked up to the podium and inserted a hard drive into the computer.

There was an essential difference between the education system in China and that in foreign countries, whether it was elementary school, high school, or university.

In the past, whenever Fu Zhi was giving lectures for those professors or lecturers, she would prepare lesson plans and show them specific examples corresponding to each field of specialization. The most important thing for Class 21 now was the final exams, but the first thing she needed to do was strengthen their basics.

Honestly, they had one trump card that would guarantee them victory—Ye Jiu.

However, the final exam was not Fu Zhi’s goal. She wanted to prepare them for the college entrance examination. Therefore, unlike He Ming and the others’ classes, she focused on junior high school coursework.

Then, after she had finished her lesson, she would split the whole class into several groups. She would ask several good students such as Zhou Zihuai to lead the other students for a group discussion.

Fu Zhi’s plan was pretty complete. After all, she had heard that this was how the adults managed their children at home.

Therefore, the entire class fell silent after they saw her on the podium.

“I hope everyone can put the results aside first and focus on your studies. I’ve ordered a batch of books for you all, so now we’re going to start from the basics.”

The students all sat upright, and just when Fu Zhi was about to start, Song Fang came into the class with a pancake in his hand.

Fu Zhi threw him a glance and said, “Nothing can be accomplished without norms or standards, so I’m going to set a few rules. Starting from tomorrow, everyone has to come to school at 6:00 am sharp for morning classes. I’ll give you all a 30-minutes rest after school ends at 5:30 pm. Then, we’ll meet at the sports field, do some sports for 30 minutes before continuing our evening lesson.

“Next time, please be on time. You all are not allowed to leave the class early, come in late, eat in the class, or play with your phones. Once I catch any of you not following the rules, you’ll be punished by running for five laps. I won’t give you all too much homework, so you’ll have to finish it before the class ends every day. If you can’t finish it, go to the sports field and run for a few laps. However, if you can finish it, you can…”

“Do whatever we want?” Wang Yu chimed in.

Fu Zhi lifted her head to look at him and continued, “You’ll be rewarded by running around the sports field for five laps and then continue the next mission.”

Wang Yu did not know what to say.

‘And you call this reward?’

After he came around to his senses, he said, “This is too hard, Sister Zhi. I’ve never been up so early or up so late studying since I was a kid!”

“This is the life of a senior year student. When you’re tired, think about your family assets that you can’t inherit. Think about the rich girl you like who doesn’t like you back because you’re poor. If you can’t get good grades, you won’t get a good job. When you can’t get a good job, you won’t have enough money to hire someone to beat Song Fang up.”

Song Fang was stunned. He looked at Wang Yu in disbelief as he said, “You want to hire someone to beat me up?”

“Do you want to listen to my explanation first?” Wang Yu said.

Fu Zhi asked both of them to stay quiet so that she could finish her rules. Truth be told, although she sounded harsh, there was nothing she could do as well if her classmates refused to cooperate with her.

Ma Mingquan and Director Liu were standing outside the class. Ma Mingquan couldn’t help himself and tears began to form in his eyes.

“My girl has finally grown up,” he said.

However, Director Liu looked at Fu Zhi with a mixed expression on his face. He couldn’t fathom why a good student like Fu Zhi would choose to become Li Nanli’s girlfriend. Well, it was not that Li Nanli did not deserve Fu Zhi, it was just that he was so much older than her! She could have picked someone of her age!

Just when he was trapped in his thoughts, he heard a loud thud.

He raised his head up and looked towards the source of the sound.

It’s Fu Zhi.

When she was teaching, there was a stern expression on her face. Director Liu had no idea why but it reminded him of the scene where she killed Anmisu in one punch.

Right now, she was holding a chalk and a pointer in her hand. She was smacking the blackboard, and white powder could be seen fluttering down from the blackboard.

“What are you guys looking at? Is there a question on the table? Look at the blackboard!” She hissed.

Everyone lifted their heads and sat as straight as a ramrod.

She then turned around and began writing down several formulas and questions on the blackboard.

All of the students in Class 21 widened their eyes and focused on the blackboard.

After roughly one minute, Fu Zhi scrunched the test paper and smacked her hand on the table hard. She took a deep breath, and just when everyone watched her in confusion, she said, “Did you hear everything I said? Who told you to look at the blackboard? What are you all looking at the blackboard for? Look at me!”

Director Liu and Ma Mingquan looked towards the blackboard instinctively.

“The answer for this question is… Do you guys understand? Why are you looking at me? Look at the test paper!

“Stop staring at the test paper! There’s nothing you could achieve by looking at the test paper! Take your notebook out and start taking notes!”

Ma Mingquan and Director Liu did not know what to say.

Well, they were pretty sure that the students in Class 21 would never forget this for the rest of their life.

She took about five minutes to explain one question. When she finished about ten questions, one hour had passed.

“Who’s going to answer the next question?” She asked as she swept a glance across the class.

After realizing that no one was going to volunteer him or herself, she continued, “No one wants to volunteer? I’ll simply pick one, then.”

She then looked at Wang Yu and Song Fang. “You two. Come to the front and answer the question. As for the rest, write your answer down on a piece of paper. After you’ve finished answering the question, hand in your answer starting from the students at the back.”

They did not know what they should say right now.

They really missed when Ma Mingquan was teaching them. His voice and gaze was gentle, unlike Fu Zhi…

Wang Yu and Song Fang looked at each other, and both of them could see the despair in their eyes.

They walked up to the podium and stood in front of the blackboard. They could only manage to write two steps, and they had stopped writing.

Sitting in front of the table, Fu Zhi took a sip from her tea and said, “I’ll give you guys another three minutes. I’ve explained this kind of question to you guys before, so stop wasting our time.”

Three minutes soon arrived. She got up from her chair and said, “Alright, time’s up. Hand in your answer. Five minutes are more than sufficient for you all to answer the question. If you don’t understand the question, you won’t be able to answer it. Hurry up, hand in your answer.”

The students in the last row got up from their chairs and began collecting the answers. As for Song Fang and Wang Yu, both of them were still standing in front of the blackboard, looking like two statues.

Fu Zhi turned her head around and looked at their answers.. Aside from a few simple formulas, she couldn’t see any specific algorithms or answers.
