The Mysterious Heiress: Researcher In Disguise Chapter 403: Lu Yumo Wearing A Skirt – Chapter 5

Chapter 403: Lu Yumo Wearing A Skirt – 5

The basketball match finally started. Both Ye Jiu and Chen Shan, the leader of Hang Yuan High School’s basketball team, stood at the center of the court for the jump ball.

The moment the referee blew the whistle, the cheerleaders of Hang Yuan and No.1 High School all waved the pom-poms in their hands vigorously and shouted madly.

Ye Jiu and Chen Shan had the same height, but he was thinner than Chen Shan. However, his jumping power was greater than Chen Shan by a large margin.

Chen Shan missed his chance, and he cursed inwardly.

Song Fang got the ball first, and the opposing team immediately went up to intercept him.

“Lu Yubai!” Song Fang shouted and he passed the ball to Lu Yubai.

The game had just started for 3 seconds, yet No.1 High School was on the lead. Right now, not only the cheerleaders, but all of the audience in the gymnasium was shouting madly.

“Ahhh, Ye Jiu! Ye Jiu has gotten the ball!”

“Ye Jiu, you’re so cool!”

“Way to go, Song Fang!”

Ye Jiu had just come to No.1 High School half a month ago and he seldom went to play basketball at the basketball court. He looked as if he was not interested in anything, but he was more popular in school than Lu Yubai and his group. After all, he had a good-looking face.

However, he was slightly different today. Not only him but the rest of the five boys from No.1 High School had serious expressions on their faces.

It was a full match, and after the first half of the match had ended, the winning team could ask their own cheerleading team to perform on the stage again, while the losing team would not have the chance.

Fu Zhi changed back to her own clothes after her performance had ended. She had only mastered one song, but Su Xing had prepared two songs for their team.

Cheerleaders in short skirts were standing behind their respective basketball hoops, and the scene looked very pleasing to the eye.

By the time Fu Zhi came back from the dressing room, the match had entered a stalemate.

Everyone was standing inside the 3-point line. The ball was in Lu Yumo’s hand now, while the rest of his teammates were being held up by their opponents. Song Fang shouted, “Make the shot!”

Lu Yumo guarded himself against Chen Shan with one hand, while dribbling the ball with the other as he prepared to make the shot.

In a basketball match, the first point meant a lot to both teams. If they successfully made the shot, then it would be a great boost to their morale.

Lu Yumo was not a professional basketball player, and the reason he was recruited into the basketball team was because of his height.

As such, when Chen Shan smiled at him confidently, Fu Zhi had a strong feeling that he would not be able to score the shot.

Chen Shan had seen through Lu Yumo’s movement.

Just as Lu Yumo jumped up, he raised his hand and intercepted, smacking the ball to the ground.

Just like Fu Zhi expected, Lu Yumo did not make it.

Even though she was standing very far away, she could hear that their basketball teacher was shouting anxiously, “Defend! All back to defend!”

“Lu Yumo, don’t just stand there! Keep your eyes on Chen Shan!”

Chen Shan and his team members were moving towards the hoop in an orderly manner.

At the same time, Shu Weiguo, the secretary of the Education Bureau, frowned and commented, “This is not looking good.”

Ma Mingquan smiled confidently and replied, “Hang Yuan hasn’t scored a point as well. There’s no need to get so hot and bothered. Nobody knows who will win the match yet.”

However, Shu Weiguo did not think so. He turned to Director Liu and sighed, “Mr. Ouyang didn’t come, did he? Although No.1 High School performed really well in the international Physics competition, you have to know that the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility. There are many schools outside wanting to beat No.1 High School to become popular.”

“Don’t worry, I have full faith in my students.”

That said, Director Liu’s hands were filled with sweat.

The cheerleading team of Hang Yuan was cheering for their school, but things were not going well on No.1 High School’s side.

“What the hell was Lu Yumo doing? If he can’t play well, then replace him with another player!”

“Lu Yumo is considered pretty good, but he’s going up against professional athletes. There’s nothing he could do about it!”

“That being said, it will more or less affect their morale. I just hope that they can regain their composure as soon as possible!”

…

“So what with professional athletes? Ye Jiu and Lu Yubai are not inferior to them,” the rest of the replacement basketball players of No.1 High School sat on the bench and yelled.

Before the words died away, the cheerleaders from No.1 High School suddenly shouted.

Lu Yubai snatched the ball from his opponent and passed it to Ye Jiu. Then, the young man leaped lightly into the air and performed a 3-point shot.

The orange-colored ball flew through the air in a perfect arc and fell right into the hoop.

It was a clean shot!

The spacious gymnasium went silent for a second, and in the next moment, it was filled with the scream and shout from the cheerleading team and the students.

“Ye Jiu! Ye Jiu!”

Everyone chanted the young man’s name excitedly, and even Director Liu was infected by the atmosphere. He couldn’t help himself and rose to his feet, waving his hand in the air as he shouted at the top of his lungs, “Nice throw!”

Ye Jiu turned around and looked at the audience with a frown on his face. He raised his hand and put his finger near his mouth.

Slowly, the audience quieted down.

“What does Ye Jiu mean by that?” Someone muttered.

“Because we’re too noisy? Well, I can relate. A lot of people don’t like others cheering for them, as it might affect their performance.”

Standing on the audience seat, Fu Zhi looked at Ye Jiu and shouted after a short while of silence. “Keep it going, Ye Jiu! I will be rooting for you!!!”

The people from Hang Yuan were as quiet as a mouse as they had missed the chance, while the rest of the students did not dare to make any sound because of Ye Jiu’s warning.

As such, Fu Zhi’s voice wafted into everyone’s ears clearly.

Ye Jiu put his finger away from his lips. He smiled and said, “Okay.”

The crowd, “…”

‘Holy sh*t!!!’
