The Little Brat's Sweet And Sassy Chapter 363 – Sleepless Nights

Chapter 363: Sleepless Nights

Bang!

The cell phone smashed against the door and fell to the ground with a muffled sound.

Ye Ming had just happened to push the door open and entered. He was shocked by the noise and the fire in his heart instantly exploded.

“Ye Ci! What are you doing?”

Ye Ci shivered and bit her lip, as her tears flowed down.

Seeing this, Su Yuan hurriedly said, “Don’t yell at the child! You don’t know how bad the people on the Internet are!”

She had just sat beside Ye Ci and vaguely seen the photo.

She was terrified just from seeing, how much more terrifying was it for Ye Ci?

Ye Ming picked up the phone. The screen had a long crack, but this did not obstruct him from seeing the photo.

With a livid face, he threw the phone on the bed and stared at Ye Ci gloomily.

“Oh, so now you know fear? What’s the use of being afraid? If you hadn’t insisted on participating in the competition, would this situation have happened?!”

Of course, he knew about the situation on the Internet!

Otherwise, he would not be so angry!

Previously, he had thought of trying to smooth things over and trying his best to suppress this matter at Second High.

Who would have known that in the blink of an eye, this matter would have spread on the Internet and that it would spread at an alarming rate!

However, not to mention Second High School and Yunzhou, but the entire Internet knew about Ye Ci’s cheating now, and they would not be able to suppress it even if they wanted to!

Seeing how furious he was, Su Yuan knew that it was useless to persuade him otherwise. She could only choose to shut up and sit beside Ye Ci, as she gently patted her shoulder in an effort to comfort her.

She also knew that the matter had already blown up.

Ye Ci muttered, “Ning Li… It had to have been Ning Li behind all this! Dad! It must have been her!”

Ye Ming looked at her coldly, almost laughing out of anger.

“So what if it’s her? So what if it’s not her? In your examination venue, other than you, there were still fifty-one examinees and four invigilators! With so many people, did you think you could shut everyone up?”

Other than the four teachers who might not actively expose the news to the media because they were more concerned about the competition, there were still fifty-one other students who could be any one of them!

After all, this thing really had happened.

Otherwise, Ye Ci would not have been unable to say a word of defense to refute it until now.

“The most important thing now is to reduce the heat of this matter as soon as possible!”

Ye Ming took a deep breath and continued.

“I’ve already called Yiming. He said that he will help contact them and remove the trending Weibo search as soon as possible. Also, we’ll find some Internet trolls and try to change the direction of public opinion as much as possible.”

Upon hearing what he had said, Su Yuan also quickly added, “Right, right! This is the most important thing! Those people on the internet are really too scary. Some of them have already started to make fun of Lil Ci. You said that they bear no grudge against Lil Ci, so how could they do so many terrible things?”

As she said this, she had completely forgotten that Ning Li had experienced something similar when she had been attacked by the Internet.

If she had paid any attention at that time, she would have realized that the picture with the cross was actually nothing.

At that time, all she had been able to think about was that Ning Li had caused so much trouble for her and the Ye family after having only just arrived at the Ye family. She had been so completely embarrassed, so how could she have paid any attention to what Ning Li had gone through?

Now, it was Ye Ci’s turn.

Only now did she seem to realize what the word “cyber-bullying” meant.

Ye Ci clenched her teeth.

“Then, are we just going to let this go?!”

The person who had leaked the information had harmed her to this extent. How could she let it go so easily?

Ye Ming frowned and spoke in a deep voice.

“Yiming said he would investigate as soon as possible. However, you should also control your emotions and stop going crazy! While you’re at the center of the storm, anything you say or do could make things worse. Do you understand?”

His tone was extremely stern.

It sounded extremely harsh to Ye Ci’s ears.

Ever since she was young, Ye Ming had always doted on her.

Today, he had been angrier with her than he had ever been in the past ten years combined.

She choked and said, “I understand.”

As she spoke, she walked over and took back her phone.

However, just as she took her phone, the screen lit up.

It was an unfamiliar number from Yunzhou.

Ye Ci’s heart skipped a beat. Her instincts told her this was not something good and she immediately wanted to reject the call. However, in her panic, she accidentally answered the call.

An unfamiliar voice came from the other side.

“Ye Ci? You’re the one who cheated, right?”

Ye Ci hung up in fear. Her heart was beating violently, and her mind was blank.

She had already guessed what the call was about, and it had turned out to be true!

Before this, she had never known that a call from a stranger would be so terrifying!

Even if the other party had only asked if she was Ye Ci, she still felt extremely terrified and her whole body had turned cold.

But then, that same number sent another text message.

[ It looks like it really is you. What? You have the guts to cheat, but you don’t have the guts to pick up the phone? Why are you so shameless? ]

With a pale face, Ye Ci quickly deleted the text message and dragged the number into the blacklist.

However, this was only the beginning.

Someone had exposed her personal information on the Internet, including her name, class, photo, and phone number.

Almost at the moment that she blocked that number, another call came in.

It was still an unknown number.

At the same time, all kinds of abusive messages were sent one after another.

[ I heard that you cheated in the national material competition? That’s pretty impressive. ]

[ As expected, no one is as shameless as you. Cheating in the final, while the results of the preliminary competition are also problematic, right? ]

[ Looking at the photos, you look so mean. Sure enough, you’re just as shameful! Are you happy with the honor that you stole? Is it glorious? ]

[ You snatched the opportunity that should have belonged to someone else. Don’t you feel any guilt at all!? Ye Ci, can you sleep at night? Why don’t you just die? ]

…

More and more phone calls and text messages bombarded her. At one point, Ye Ci’s phone had even jammed.

Every word was like a sharp knife that ruthlessly scratched her body. It was incomparably painful!

Her whole body trembled violently, and it became difficult for her to breathe. It was as if an invisible hand was choking her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe, and her chest hurt.

Ye Ming frowned and said, “Don’t look at those things. We’ll talk about it tomorrow.”

Su Yuan quickly went over and took the phone from her hand.

“Your father is right. You have a good sleep first. Let your father and your cousin handle these things first, okay?”

Ye Ci did not say a word. Her eyes had a faraway look, as if she was still in the midst of that huge shock.

After a long while, she nodded stiffly.

Ye Ming left again.

Ye Ci lay on the bed, intending on getting some rest.

However, as soon as she closed her eyes, the phone calls and text messages quickly surfaced in her mind.

It was as if she had suddenly stepped on air. Her whole body trembled, her eyes snapped open and she immediately sat up!

She was stunned, tears silently flow down her face.

How could she sleep tonight?
