Chapter 60: Caught in a Dilemma

Lin Xuan was gratified and she nodded. The wrinkles on her face had blossomed into flowers. “Alright, I wish to see your baby soon. I’m afraid I don’t have much time left.”

Su Wan was sad. She took a glutinous rice ball in fermented rice wine for Lin Xuan. “Grandmother, don’t say that. You will see our children grow.”

Lin Xuan laughed and stopped mentioning anything sad.

The atmosphere at the dining table was joyous and the four of them enjoyed the rare warm moment.

After lunch, Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan accompanied the old folks as they watched the television and were asked to stay back for dinner. Then, Xie Changfeng and Lin Xuan had wanted them to put up a night at their place.

With Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng’s persistence, Xie Changfeng and Lin Xuan finally stopped insisting. Before they left, Xie Changfeng tapped Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulder and his dark eyes showed aspiration and advice of a father to a son.

“Grandson-in-Law, please send my regards to your mother. You must treat Wan well. If you betray her, I won’t forgive you easily.”

Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s waist and made a promise.

“Grandfather, I will. Wan Wan is the most important person in my life. I’ll cherish her.”

“Wan Wan, let’s bathe together.”

Sleepiness was overcoming her and her mind was under a dizzy spell. However, she awoke at the sight of that handsome face now staring at her.

Su Wan tried to open her eyes but she was not completely conscious. She could see the ceiling light shining on his face and the interlacing of light and shadow made the man in front of her look as if he had an aura above his head.

He was like a deity from heaven who had come to the mortal world.

“Since you did not say anything, I’ll take it that you’ve agreed.”

Jiang Xuecheng’s dark eyes were glistening and his brows curved up slightly. He was obviously in a good mood.

Su Wan looked at him, puzzled. What had she agreed to?

Before Su Wan could think carefully, she was caught off guard and carried by Jiang Xuecheng.

“Xuecheng, what are you doing? Please put me down!”

This was not the first time Su Wan had been carried in such a manner but every time she saw Jiang Xuecheng’s expression, she felt something amiss. Su Wan woke up alertly and her rationality suddenly started kicking in.

Jiang Xuecheng did not bother about her request but showed a profound smile. “You can’t go back on your word.”

Su Wan was puzzled. She shook Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulders with exasperation. “I didn’t speak just now, how could I have promised you anything?”

Jiang Xuecheng only laughed but did not talk. With the advantage of his height and build, he ignored Su Wan’s resistance.

When Su Wan was carried toward the bathroom, the alarm in her went off. She instantly understood what he wanted to do!

Su Wan’s heart was filled with lament and resent. Before marriage, he had agreed to respect her wishes, so why did she feel like she had jumped into the fire pit?

Since the hard way didn’t work, she decided to use another method. She softened her posture and looked pitifully at Jiang Xuecheng, “I’m still on my period. It’s not very convenient…”

On the other side, the beast was grinning. In a leisurely manner, he took off his clothes and was ready to skin her.

Su Wan darted a look at Jiang Xuecheng’s calm eyes but she was shuddering in fear. She turned around with her back facing Jiang Xuecheng.

Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan’s ostrich-style manner and had more urge to tease her rashness.

Jiang Xuecheng walked to Su Wan and removed her hand covering her eyes and went in with her.

Su Wan shut her eyes tightly and refused to open them. Jiang Xuecheng did not see that as a problem. So, he stretched his hand to touch the button on Su Wan’s blouse.

Su Wan screamed “ah!” and she instantly opened her eyes. Then, she wished she had not opened her eyes.

She felt she never had such moment of embarrassment before!

Jiang Xuecheng smiled and his tone of voice remained elegant, as if what he was doing was something normal.

“Wan Wan, do you want to do it yourself or shall I do it for you?”

Su Wan had mixed feelings. She understood what Jiang Xuecheng meant. She felt aggrieved and at the same time, felt shy and nervous.

She forced herself to look at Jiang Xuecheng and with heroic determination, uttered, “Just ignore me. I’m on my period and it’s not convenient. You don’t have to take the trouble to do it.”

Jiang Xuecheng shrugged. His glistening eyes stared at Su Wan and his voice was deep and alluring.

“Then, I’m too irresponsible as your husband.”
