When An Xiaxia was called away by Su Xiaomo, Sheng Yize declared his territory in a low voice. “She’s my wife now.”

An Yibei adjusted his glasses. “And she’s my sister. Take good care of her. Cherish her and don’t let her down.”

He made his point with those succinct words.

Sheng Yize smiled. “I will.”

He then turned around and strode off to look for An Xiaxia, leaving An Yibei behind, sighing to himself.

It was a mix of regret and relief.

Papa An chuckled. “Xiaxia’s babies are almost a year old. When am I going to see you with a girlfriend?”

An Yibei snorted. “What’s the rush? I’m in no hurry.”

Si Bai happened to walk past them at that moment. Hearing their conversation, he asked in a quizzical tone, “Uncle, do you still not have a girlfriend?”

An Yibei was speechless.

“Poor you!” Si Bai looked at him sympathetically.

“Since when am I your uncle?” An Yibei said in a chilly voice. “Go play somewhere else, you brat!”

Scratching his head, Si Bai politely bid him farewell. “I’ll go feed my wife, then. Bye!”

An Yibei smacked his forehead and darted a glance at Papa An, only to find the latter smiling brightly.

“Yibei, it’s time to put some effort into it!”

Si Bai put a milk bottle in Pepsi’s hands, then took a bigger one himself. He then sat down beside her and drank his milk.

Pepsi looked around curiously. She shrieked in excitement after spotting some balloons.

Si Bai gave it a glance, then said in a self-important manner that reminded one of a senior citizen, “That’s for babies!”

Pepsi whimpered. Wasn’t she a baby now?!

“Don’t cry! I’ll go get one for you!” Si Bai, the little henpecked husband, went to fetch his wife a balloon right away.

However, they were too high up for him to reach.

“Why, isn’t it Si Bai? Now, call me ‘daddy’ and I’ll get one for you!” Qi Yanxi sauntered over to his side at that moment and teased the boy.

Si Bai pursed his lips. “I have a father already.”

“You never know when you’ll need an extra!” Qi Yanxi rubbed his head.

Si Bai refused him earnestly after some consideration.

“I don’t think you’re suitable for that.”

Sheng Yize happened to walk past him at the moment and Si Bai ran happily to his side. “Father-in-law, can you get me a balloon? I want to give it to Pepsi…”

Si Bai was defeated and asked in disappointment, “But why?”

Sheng Yize said calmly, “It’ll sap her of her will to make progress.”
