After a long kiss, Sheng Yize got up and left.

The next day.

It was ten o’clock in the morning and sunlight poured down over the entire island. An Xiaxia made something to eat after she got up, then slumped down on the sofa to watch some variety show.

Her phone then buzzed. It was a message from Song Shi.

“Little sister, I have something yummy for you here.”

There were also two missed calls, which were from him as well.

An Xiaxia found that a little strange. Why hadn’t she heard her phone ring?

She touched his neck and froze on the spot.

There was no pulse.

Was Song Shi… dead?

She tried to stop the bleeding and did CPR to resuscitate Song Shi, but all her efforts were in vain.

An Xiaxia almost burst into tears. He had still been grinning and chuckling yesterday. How had he turned into this dead body now?

The door was smashed open and a few police officers rushed in. One of them produced his credentials and said something in a language An Xiaxia didn’t understand.

Before An Xiaxia could process what was going on, they had grabbed her wrists and handcuffed her.

“I’m not the killer! I was here to save him!” An Xiaxia tried all she could to explain.
