“Thank you, Uncle,” said Ye Sheng, bowing in all seriousness.

“You’re severely injured now, so you should go and have a good rest,” said Ling’er’s father in a mellow voice, as he turned to walk back to the nunnery.

Ye Sheng coughed a few times as he bore the pain and followed them back to the nunnery.

When the nun saw Ye Sheng, she frowned and asked, “Are you badly injured?”

Ling’er spoke up before he could reply, “Someone came and tried to kill him. An Acquired Level Sixth Stage cultivator tried to kill him.”

“You’re at Ye Manor all day, and you still have enemies?” asked the nun.

Ye Sheng replied quietly, “These men were probably sent by Ye Qing and his mother.”

The nun laughed coldly. “That’s not surprising. That Hu Mei is excellent at putting on a pretense. When she first moved into the manor, she was humble in front of every single person in the house.
