The Bumpy Road of Marriage: Divorce Now, Daddy Chapter 1557 – I Am Not Afraid

Chapter 1557: I Am Not Afraid

Wen Shan was quiet in Nalan Chunbo’s arms. The painkiller was starting to take effect so she felt much better and leaned on Nalan Chunbo’s shoulder calmly.

Nalan Chunbo gently rocked her and murmured, “Silly girl, you still have me around. How can I let you suffer?”

Wen Shan was no longer crying, but her body was still trembling slightly.

“I won’t delete my thesis,” Wen Shan said through gritted teeth. She would not be moved in this.

She understood Nalan Chunbo’s good intentions. She also knew that he really cared about her and wanted to protect her from online backlash. However, she was aware that if she deleted the thesis, although it could prevent netizens from attacking her in the first place, other people might suspect that she was acting fishy even if they managed to prove that Professor Yin plagiarized her thesis later.

Only a guilty person would delete it.

Nalan Chunbo frowned. He knew how hot-tempered Wen Shan could be, but it was not the right time to be stubborn.

“Shan Shan, I know you feel you’ve been treated unfairly, but—”

“I’m not afraid of being scolded, but I won’t delete it. If I take it down now, people will praise me for correcting my mistake. However, I did nothing wrong here!” Wen Shan protested, growing agitated as tears welled up in her eyes.

Yes, Nalan Chunbo’s intention was indeed to prevent her from being criticized.

However, Wen Shan was more mature than he thought and she knew what she wanted.

It was him who always regarded Wen Shan as a child, as no parent would wish for anyone to say anything bad about their children.

They always did their best to give their children a completely safe environment for them to grow up happily.

“Papa Nalan, please don’t ask me to delete it. I don’t want to do that,” Wen Shan said desperately, grabbing Nalan Chunbo’s hand.

If Nalan Chunbo insisted on taking down her thesis, she certainly had no way to stop him.

She knew Nalan Chunbo wanted to avoid her getting criticized and condemned, but she had her own opinion.

“Plagiarism is an unforgivable crime in all industries. As long as your name is related to any form of plagiarism, whether it is in this industry or not, your name will be tarnished. That is not something you can handle,” Nalan Chunbo explained. He knew Wen Shan was feeling wronged right now, but she would feel even more upset if she got scolded by the public.

Wen Shan knew that. Copying a professor’s thesis would not only get her accused of plagiarism, but she would be labelled as a terrible student who betrayed her teacher and elder.

“I did nothing wrong so I have nothing to fear,” Wen Shan said firmly.

Nalan Chunbo observed her for a while and finally realized that she would not change her mind. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. “Silly girl.”

Wen Shan looked up at Nalan Chunbo while staying in his embrace, “Can you let the website spare me some time? Don’t directly delete my thesis in the first place.”

“You can rest assured about this. I will find Jack.” As a senior member of the forum, he has the authority. Despite him having an expertise in mathematics, he was fortunate enough to have a good relationship with Jack.

Wen Shan said no more.

Nalan Chunbo took out his phone and directly called Jack. The phone rang for a while until someone finally picked up. “It’s me.”

“Hey, Nalan. I was just about to look for you. There’s an issue with your little girl.” Jack seemed busy with this matter as well so he directly told Nalan Chunbo about it in his not-so-fluent Mandarin.
