Sword Among Us Chapter 956 – Demonic Venomous Larva

Chapter 956: Demonic Venomous Larva

At night, Ghost’s Domain became even ghastlier. If anyone looked at the area from above, they will be able to see all sorts of will-o’-the-wisps in Ghost’s Domain, and the sight was magnificent. It decorated Ghost’s Domain in a manner that it looked like the netherworld while the place was shrouded in miasma.

But only those who were slightly experienced would know that those will-o’-the-wisps were all torches lit by players.

Since Ghost’s Domain was already shrouded by miasma during the day, it was very difficult for anyone to see into the distance. When it was night, a bizarre fog would seem to fill the air, and under the light from the moon and the stars, it was as if the players had entered a maze. Even though it was not to an extent where they cannot even see their fingers, their visibility was already so poor that it did not make much of a difference.

Not everyone in the game had reached the great stage where they could determine directions based on the wind, much less being able to challenge high-end enemy NPCs specially made for grinding purposes in an environment where you cannot even see your fingers.

Hence, when it was night, the valleys of various sizes would be filled with a large number of torches, be lit near the mountains, or be situated at high spots. They could last for a few hours to ensure that the players could last until morning.

But the color burning from the torches under miasma was rather strange. It was in a faint, blue color, and it looked ghastly as well as hazy, which made it look like a will-o’-the-wisp.

This was the first time Happy experienced Ghost’s Domain at night, and naturally, he found it an exciting experience. But soon, he found it about the same as it was during the day.

“Wow.”

Happy was fully immersed in his extreme training method. Right now, his attributes had increased by a large margin, and his Tendon Changing Classic had already reached the seventh realm. His Indestructible Body had already been trained to the peak of the fifth realm, and he no longer needed to pay too much attention to the attacks from normal Parasitic Spiders. The focus of his training slowly shifted from his body fortification to his Great Demonic World Destruction Art.

‘The defense in Indestructible Body has already surpassed Arhat Body. Even though it doesn’t possess any profound skill, it’s fine even if I slowly level it up. As of current, what’s important for me is to increase the damage for Great Demonic World Destruction Art. When I fight against Moksha Realm players, Dragon Claw and Demon Subduing Vajra Kick is no longer enough to satisfy my demands. I can’t instantly kill my enemies within a short period of time.

‘Anway, Tendon Changing Classic and Indestructible Body have already increased fifty qi points for me. With Tendon Changing Classic around, I can fight for a while in Moksha Realm. From now on, I’ll focus my full attention on training Great Demonic World Destruction Art! If my guess is correct, Dream Clouds and Blood Robes won’t give me too many chances and time to train.’

While he thought about this, Happy slowly changed his fighting style.

As he was surrounded by a cluster of spiders, he continuously moved around two scorpions and fought against them. The frequency of his attacking with his sword clearly increased.

This lasted for around two hours.

Suddenly, the training group where Mu Qi and the Gu poison user was suddenly cried out in surprise. Under the faint blue will-o’-the-wisps, Happy heard the rapid sound of something flying through the air rise from that side. At the same time, there was also a strange buzzing sound that was formed because of wings flapping quickly.

“What’s wrong?” Happy quickly asked.

Before his voice even faded away, the sound of an infant’s wails were heard from that side.

Happy instantly froze. The infant’s wails were very strange. They sounded like waves charging over at him and crashing into his eardrums.

His body stopped moving, and he felt as if he fell into water, because his movement speed had suddenly been reduced.

In his daze, the spiders around him immediately crashed violently against him, and his Indestructible Body trembled frequently.

“Demonic Venomous Larva! Boss Happy, come here quick!” Mu Qi cried out in fear.

At the same time, quite a number of people screamed in fear and shouted.

“Told you to grind slower! It’s night time now, how could you be so careless?!”

“Old Pang, Young Pang, take turns to hold it back!”

‘Demonic Venomous Larva?”

Happy absolutely had no impression of it.

But the sound waves that sounded like a wailing infant just kept coming, and it affected the circulation of Happy’s true qi nonstop. He felt as if he could not bring out his true power, and it made him really displeased.

Happy could already guess that the situation over there was definitely not good.

He did not dare remain idle.

Shocking black flames suddenly shot out from above his longsword.

Shick! Shick!

At that moment, Happy’s Great Demonic World Destruction Art had already reached the fifth realm. The flames surrounding the sword, which were produced by the unique sword technique, could stretch half a foot away from the sword, and it was black as well as bright. It actually looked as if it was sentient, and as Happy pushed the flames forward madly, the flames landed on the cluster of spiders. Immediately, an irregular afterimage of a spherical sword glare appeared in the area.

The Parasitic Spiders who were coughing out disgusting spit around him froze.

Thud!

Their mouths were burnt, and revolting, green goop exploded out of their wounds. Their bodies, which were more than three feet tall, immediately lost the support that allowed them to stand, and they crashed to the ground.

Demonic Sword Asks about Love.

With just one slash, the Parasitic Spiders around him immediately died.

Happy moved and charged out of the encirclement. Now, only the mother—Eight-eyed Parasitic Spider—and two Ghost Scorpions chased after him.

“Hiss…”

One of those Ghost Scorpions thought that its enemy wanted to run, and it bared its teeth to chase after Happy.

“Flames Destroy the World!”

Happy turned around and delivered a slash. The steady sword glare shot out with a black flame that was like black lightning, and it was just in time to be delivered into that Ghost Scorpion’s mouths.

Its outer shell was incredibly sturdy, and its body was very agile, but now, the Ghost Scorpion had its eyes roll back, and it curled up into a ball and died.

Over the day, even though this was the first time Happy killed a Ghost Scorpion, he had still gained an understanding of their entire bodies from head to toe multiple times, which meant that he had a great pool of knowledge of these Ghost Scorpions. Happy knew that while the Ghost Scorpions’ sturdiness differed at different parts of the body, the difference was not great, and they were, in general, very tough. Their only fatal weakness was in their bodies.

That slash took the Ghost Scorpion’s life instantly.

His sword momentum changed, and the Eight-eyed Parasitic Spider had several dazzling black flames made of sword qi bloom on its mouth while it rushed over.

Bang!

The mother spider, which had already laid multiple eggs to produce a lot of spiders, instantly died at Happy’s feet.

Whoosh!

Then, he delivered another sword slash before he withdrew it, easily extracting his longsword from the second Ghost Scorpion’s mouth. Then, Happy turned around and dashed to where Mu Qi and the others were.

His movements were clean and smooth, allowing him to kill that horde of enemy NPCs in one go.

If Mu Qi and the others saw it, they will definitely be dumbfounded for a while.

But it was too dark, the miasma was too thick, and even under the firelight, no one could see what Happy did clearly.

*****

“Ah! Ah!”

The soundwaves entered his ears, and his true qi circulated in reverse.

A flying insect with a huge head and a face like a baby’s chased after Mu Qi. Its body was incredibly strong and small. All three pairs of its wings produced violent gusts of wind when it flapped about, and it moved very quickly.

While it flew, it used that strange baby wail to reduce Mu Qi and his group’s movement speed, and it was… truly… disgusting.

Old Pang and Young Pang were in charge of acting as rearguards to endure the attacks from Demonic Venomous Larva, but it was clear that they had a hard time in doing so. One charge from that Demonic Venomous Larva could send them flying far away in different directions, and it would be very difficult for them to get back up again, because they felt as if their bones were all dislocated. There was a prominent, green tinge on their faces, a clear sign that they were poisoned.

Demonic Venomous Larva did not continue attacking Old Pang and Young Pang, but chased after Mu Qi and the others instead.

When he saw this, Happy’s expression changed.

“What is that thing? It sure is sickening.”

Mu Qi and his group did not dare lure Demonic Venomous Larva to Happy’s side at all while they remained in the valley. They ran about in an incredibly pathetic manner. The traps by the side of the valley could not stop that creature in its tracks at all.

Then, when they noticed Happy running over, the group finally had surprise and delight show on their faces.

“Boss Happy is here!”

“Careful, this thing is called Demonic Venomous Larva. It will only appear in Ghost’s Domain at night, and it’s an elite mini boss. Its strength is at the same level as a martial artist at the initial stage of Myth Realm!”

“Boss Happy, you have to make sure that it doesn’t touch you. If it does, you’ll be poisoned, and your abilities will be reduced by thirty percent!”

When he heard the reminders from his friends from Hunter Clan, Happy instantly went into high alert.

If it could reduce a Moksha Realm player’s abilities by thirty percent with just one touch, then it meant that it did not have a common poison with it. Its power was already not inferior to Little North, who was known as Ten Thousand Poison Duke.

What was even more troublesome was that Demonic Venomous Larva will occasionally release sounds that could affect a person’s speed, and that was about the same as a rather strong aura released by those at Myth Realm. It was not a simple creature to deal with.

“Is there a way for us to make it shut up?!” Happy asked loudly.

Now that he had to fight against a flying insect with poison all over its body, he did not dare go over recklessly.

“We’ll kill it together! Then it’ll definitely shut up!”

Demonic Venomous Larva chased after Mu Qi, and Mu Qi was already cornered to the point that he felt all his hair stand. He quickly answered Happy.

“…That’s the same as you not saying anything.”

Happy frowned, and he could only lift his sword to go up to the fray.

Since he could not obtain anything else useful, he could only personally experience fighting against the creature and gain knowledge about it.

“Back down!”

He grazed past Mu Qi and his group like the wind, and several sword glares went charging at the flying insect’s wings fiercely.

The Gu poison user reacted very quickly. She shouted a warning at him with a pale face. “Don’t! Its wings are very tough!”

Before her voice faded away, Happy’s longsword had already brought up a few metallic sparks with loud clanging sounds from Demonic Venomous Larva’s wings. He quickly activated Petite Dragon, and its wings, which were as sharp as blades, grazed past Happy’s body, leaving behind a burn on him. Happy broke out in cold sweat.

‘Wonderful. Do you have any other information?’ Happy might have rolled his eyes in his heart as he commented sarcastically about how the Gu poison user’s information came in a timely manner, he still gained a certain impression of Demonic Venomous Larva’s defensive abilities.

“AH!”

Happy had managed to accurately cut at Demonic Venomous Larva’s wings, but while its wings were not damaged, it still had its momentum halted by the powerful impact. Its huge compound eyes gradually shone with a red light. It resolutely gave up on chasing after Mu Qi and the others to pounce on Happy.

“Demonic Venomous Larvas will first fight against those who deal damage to it—”

“Gee, thanks! I already know about that! Could you tell me something I don’t know?!”

While Happy retreated, he continued to deliver sword glares nonstop as he spoke through gritted teeth.

“I just learned about it… I never encountered this creature before. Demonic Venomous Larvas are seldom seen in Ghost’s Domain, and they’re very difficult to deal with.”

The Gu poison user looked embarrassed.

Mu Qi quickly explained. “Many high-end training groups will use the traps at the entrance of the valley to forcibly break free from Demonic Venomous Larva’s pursuit. They won’t fight head on against it, and when day arrives, it will naturally disappear.”

“Damn it.” Happy felt incredibly gloomy.

But it was now night time, and it was very difficult to find a suitable training spot in Ghost’s Domain. Even if they wanted to move away, it would also be very dangerous. Their best method was still to kill this Demonic Venomous Larva.

“You’re just an insect at the initial stage of Myth Realm. I refuse to believe that I can’t kill you!”

Happy calmed down and began moving back in an orderly fashion. With Great Demonic World Destruction Art, he began to deliver sword glares from different angles at Demonic Venomous Larva’s body.

Clanging sounds and the sound of friction could be heard nonstop. It was as if all attacks landed on metal.

“Ah! Ah!”

It was continuously burned by the black flames attacked to the sword glares. Demonic Venomous Larva’s screeches became even more piercing to the ears, and it sounded like a baby wailing.
