Chapter 826: Kill and Save

The general from the Chinese army was dressed in shiny white armor, and he stood out like a sore thumb in the army. At that moment, he had already been completely surrounded. With the help of the last three guards, he fought hard to fend off the Mongolian cavaliers’ attacks. He appeared to be in a perilous situation, and it was only a matter of time before he was either captured or killed.

“That bastard has quite a lot of guards, and he’s pretty good as well! He’s definitely at least a vanguard general! Haha! Don’t try to steal him from me! I’ll bring him back alive to get my rewards from the khan, and I’ll marry Gege Ushan as my wife.”

While the horse hooves thundered, a path was suddenly opened among the cavaliers. A man with an alloy staff of more than six and a half meter long charged to the Chinese general with crazed glee on his face and with an astonishing charge. Judging by the look on his face, it was as if the general was already his captive.

The three guards beside the general instantly sensed just how threatening this person was. One of them said nothing and went up against him with nimble movements. When he was no less than sixteen feet away, he suddenly tumbled on the ground and swept forward with his longsword. A fatal sword glare instantly cut through the legs of the Mongolian cavalier’s steed.

A shrill neigh sounded. The Mongolian struck at his own steed, and it fell to the ground with a bang, but the Mongolian jumped several feet into the air like a demon, and while he was airborne, he held his staff with both hands, and with a momentum that tore through air, the staff charged down with the force of a mountain crashing down. He crushed the guard who already had nowhere to run until he was a bloody pulp, and he was sent flying far away.

“Oh no!”

“General, leave! We’ll hold him back!”

When they saw that the man with the alloy staff rushed to them without stopping, the last two guards beside the general looked as if they were now determined to fight till their dying breath.

The general, who was protected behind them, thrust his longsword forward repeatedly to cut down several Mongolians, but more people surrounded him, and it was impossible for him to break out of the encirclement.

Bang! Bang!

The man with the alloy staff clearly had the strength of a 1,000-man commander or a 10,000-man commander. When he faced the two guards who went up against him, he did not even spare them a look. A staff-generated wind swept through the air, and he easily sent those two guards flying into the army before he continued to rush at his prey.

When he heard his last two guards’ pained screams, the middle-aged general who was dressed in shiny white armor finally looked defeated. He held his longsword and was prepared for his final resistance.

During that critical moment, the man with the alloy staff suddenly pulled back.

A dazzling and splendid sword force came charging at him from his side, and it came from the army around him.

A Mongolian cavalier was torn in half from the middle, along with his horse. The powerful sword force came to a stop with the corpse that was pushed forward because of it, and at the same time, that sword slash allowed a small gap to appear in the encirclement that had previously been so tight that the general could not hope to escape from it.

“Who is it?!”

The man with the alloy staff scowled, but he noticed that a young person with a Bamboo Hat over his head had just charged in swiftly through the gap. None of the cavaliers around him could stop him, and as sword glares shot forward from his sword, there will occasionally be people who will fall from their steeds.

The mysterious elite appeared with almost the same momentum the Mongolian cavaliers had when they mowed down their enemies and pushed forward without resistance.

The man with the alloy staff could feel a powerful sense of danger from the person.

He dragged a person from his horse and jumped on it.

“Go and kill the general! Get his head and go back!”

The man with the alloy staff had already noticed that the charge from the front and back had already been intercepted. The two thousand or so cavaliers at the back were now engaged in a bitter fight once they were blocked in their paths, and the vanguards also could not move forward because the Chinese martial artists from the flanks had joined the fight. The situation made it so that he could not continue dragging out the fight. Hence, he immediately got rid of his idea of bringing the general back alive to claim his rewards.

Right when he finished speaking, the Mongolian cavaliers who surrounded the general tightly immediately attacked!

The man with the alloy staff continued ordering his men, and he was prepared to reorganize his forces to launch a charge again to get out of the encirclement by the Chinese army!

Clang! Clang!

The general in shiny white armor might be pretty good, but since he was completely surrounded, after he killed more than ten people in succession, he also sported a lot of wounds on his body. He was covered in blood, and he was in an increasingly dangerous situation.

Thud! Thud!

Two Mongolian cavaliers lifted their hatchets up high behind the general, but right then, a bloody hole was appeared out of nowhere on their foreheads. Their lives flowed out rapidly from that hole, and they crashed behind the general along with their weapons.

There was a nonstop stream of people who died!

When he heard the abnormal movements behind him, the general turned his head around to look, and it was only then that he noticed a young martial artist with a Bamboo Hat over his head had already charged over. While he opened the path with his sword, he killed off the enemies who were the closest to him and who brought the greatest threat to him.

The pressure on the general’s shoulders lessened immediately.

“Thank you.”

“Enough with the chit chat and leave this place.”

Since he was forced to take a quest in a baffling manner, had to protect a general of the imperial court who was not really good at fighting, and had to be forced to fight with his full strength by using his sword and Joined Finger, there was no way Happy will be friendly with the general. He threw behind those words and attacked with his fingers and sword to forcefully carve out a bloody path to survival.

There was no way the man with the alloy staff will allow the general, who was already supposed to be in his clutches, to run away.

“Don’t let those two escape!”

The cavaliers behind him quickly brought out their hatchets and threw them.

But what they did not know was that Happy had been troubled by how much of a tough time he had killing his enemies. Even though he could instantly kill a Mongolian cavalier with the damage from his sword technique and finger technique, the burden he suffered was a little too heavy when he had to find their vital spots while he dodged the attacks from the cavaliers around him as well as pay attention to the general’s safety.

When he heard the fierce sounds of air being torn coming at him in an endless stream, Happy was not terrified, but was delighted.

This was basically someone handing over a pillow to him when he was sleepy!

“Well then, it’d be disrespectful of me to refuse your gift!”

He said nothing else. Happy quickly activated Arhat Body and Shifting Stars. At the same time he withstood the attacks from a few Mongolian cavaliers head on. The dozens of hatchets that came flying at him deviated from their original track to hit different targets.

“AH!”

“AH!”

The Mongolian cavaliers who blocked Happy instantly suffered greatly. No matter which part the hatchets hit, they will find it hard to deal with the blow, because the damage in those hatchets was astonishing. Their metal scale armor could not stop the hatchets from cutting into them, and they were reduced to a bloody mess. Pained screams rose and fell, and they fell from their horses.

The notifications of him gaining points rose continuously.

Happy instantly tore open a gap in the encirclement that was originally very hard to break through.

“Hurry!”

“The general isn’t dead! Protect the general!”

A large group of lancers outside the encirclement had their morale largely boosted. They surged into the encirclement without caring for anything else, and once they continuously killed more than ten people, they were finally at equal grounds with the Mongolian cavaliers, and they fell into a stalemate with them.

They lost their initial advantage, and the Mongolian cavaliers found it hard for them to bring out their advantage before the lancers. When the man with the alloy staff saw that his prey had been escorted by the mysterious elite back to the lancers and was protected once more while more martial artists charged at him, he immediately knew that he could not try to kill the general anymore. He gnashed his teeth together and glared at the man with the Bamboo Hat before he shouted loudly for his men to gather together and break out of the encirclement. If they continued fighting against the Chinese army, this group of cavaliers will all die under the lancers’ spears.

The system notification arrived.

“Ding!

“Successfully saved the general. Obtained one thousand points!”

The blood-drenched general was now safe dozens of feet away. He quickly thanked Happy. “Thank you, swordsman. Could you tell me your name?”

When Happy saw that there was no one in the area, he lowered his voice and whispered his identity. Then, he ignored the general’s thanks before he jumped out from among the soldiers around him.

He did not come here to chat with the general and flatter him. The martial artists behind him had already approached the battlefield. If he did not hurry up, there might be very few points remaining.

He had to seize time!
