“Take this!”

Jinpok swung his giant battle axe at the monster charging towards him. It cleaved the monster into two from its head to its chest. The Amon tried to use its last breath to swing its claw at Jinpok but it barely scratched his armor.

Soldiers shouted and screamed as they started fighting the Amon all around. Many were wounded but no one died. The soldiers all had sturdy armor covering their bodies and the Amon’s claws and teeth couldn’t penetrate the armor.

“Use your potion if you need to! Don’t save it!”

Joonbum shouted at a soldier who was hesitant about using his potion. As the potion was poured over the wound, it quickly began healing it. This was an upgraded version made by the Khalodian Red Cross which had increased healing power. It brought about severe pain as a side effect while healing, but the speed of it was unmatched.

“Stand your ground!”

“Kill them one by one!”

“They’re coming!”

The soldiers fought hard and the wounded screamed in pain from using the potions but none were dying. The only things that fell were the monster Amons. Besides, the soldiers outnumbered the attacking monsters.

Joonbum used his giant sword to chop off an Amon’s head.

“That’s a clean cut!”

Jinpok smiled at Joonbum while flicking his axe to get rid of the blood.

“How’s it faring? You seem restless.”

“Yeah, but it’s okay. I am in control.”

Jinpok had a downside where he would go into a frenzy on the battlefield. But this battle was already considered common in their lives and Jinpok was able to unleash all his energy before going back to his family to live normally.

He swung his axe and cleaved another Amon into two.

“They are running! Get ’em!”

Someone shouted and the soldiers began to fire their guns. With gunshots and the smell of gunpowder everywhere, the short battle that went on for twenty minutes was over.

“Dammit. Is it over already?”

Jinpok grunted. His body was covered in blood and bits of monster flesh, and he was picking them off by hand.

“Everyone else is tired except you.”

“Oh, is that so?”

Doral nodded. It was only a twenty-minute battle, but it took a lot of focus and concentration which exhausted everyone. However, the soldiers still had some reserves left. Their ten-year battle against the monsters had toughened them enough to not be too tired from this.

‘He’s strong.’

Lee Chulmin frowned. He had heard about the Emperor, Commander Jinpok, and Doral the Ainos multiple times. But stories about them were unbelievable as they were similar to myths or legends so Chulmin wasn’t sure if they were real. It was especially unbelievable in Joonbum’s case.

‘I thought it was the outcome of extreme idolization, but I see that it’s all true.’

Most of them who came from Earth thought the same way. That was why some ambitious ones were trying to become a 2nd emperor to surpass Joonbum.

‘It is impossible.’

That world already considered Joonbum as the emperor, and even in some sense, a god. There was no way the new people from Earth would have a chance.

“Call a medic!”

“Kill off those monsters!”

Soldiers began to thrust long spears into the monsters on the ground. Some pretended to be dead but those were soon killed before they could jump up to attack.

“It’s good that we gathered the strongest ones here,” Jinpok said with a smile. All of the soldiers here were elites. They were the forces that Jinpok himself trained for this very expedition.

“Commander. The central and southern armies are advancing towards the eastern and southern sea area. They are battling their way through, which is taking some time, but they are advancing while eradicating the entire monster population on their way as ordered, sir.”

A messenger ran up to them and reported while they were resting.

“Okay. Any other news?”

“We have not found any survivors as of yet. It seems that they will not show themselves easily as danger lurks everywhere. The construction team has started building a defensive fortress at the 1st location. The southern army reports that swampland and a large frog-shaped monster is slowing them down.”

The landscape of Earth had changed drastically due to natural disasters. Japan had long since sunk into the sea, leaving only a vast ocean in its place. The Korean peninsula, together with a large chunk of Chinese land, was broken off from the mainland and was now an island in the sea.

This was actually welcoming news to the army. At least the Korean peninsula was now an island that could be cleared to create a safe haven.

“They are on the move!”

“Wow, they’re fast.”

“PREPARE FOR MONSTER AMBUSH!”

“MOVE!”

The forest began to shake. Just as humans gained experience fighting against monsters, monsters too had gained experience fighting humans. These monsters had twenty years of experience hunting down humans.

“So, the construction team has already started.”

Joonbum commented casually as he saw soldiers moving to prepare. Their army was advancing towards the north so that they would take over Seoul and then advance further. They needed to set up their headquarters as the base for their operations.
