He shouldn’t get intimate with her at a time like this. She wasn’t completely used to him yet. It was better to wait until both parties were fully committed to it.

The sexual desire in Luo Tao’s eyes instantly faded away. He released his hand and tidied up Mo Yan’s messy nightdress. Then, he gently touched her cheek and said in a hoarse voice, “You must be tired today. Have a good rest.”

After saying that, Luo Tao got up from the bed and walked outside.

Mo Yan was stunned. She felt the temperature drop in the air, and her mind was in a mess.

She really couldn’t tell how she felt about Luo Tao. He was her husband, and she was willing to do whatever he wanted her to do. However, technically they had only met a few days ago.

Moreover, Luo Tao didn’t know that she actually her stepsister, Mo Lian.

This secret was stuck in her heart, causing her to always subconsciously put a barrier between herself and Luo Tao. This feeling of being a liar was not pleasant. She had wanted to confess to Luo Tao many times, but she had hesitated.

If Luo Tao were to find out about the Mo family’s lies, he might fly into a rage. He might cause trouble with the Mo family or even beat her up.

Therefore, she ultimately chose to keep the secret to herself.

Early the next morning, Mo Yan was about to leave for the city when she received a call.

Seeing that the number on the phone was her brother, Mo Yan took a deep breath and did not dare to answer the call.

She was very afraid. If her brother was calling to tell her that her mother’s condition had worsened and that she needed to undergo surgery immediately, what could she do?

“Wait a little longer, wait a little longer. I’ll get the money soon…” Mo Yan prayed softly and sighed. In the end, she picked up the phone.

“Sister! We’re saved!” Her brother shouted happily on the other end of the phone.

“What?” Mo Yan’s pupils constricted when she heard that.

“The Mo family not only helped mother pay for her medical fees, they even transferred her to a special ward. My tuition fees have also been paid. The doctor said that mother will undergo surgery tomorrow!”

Her younger brother said happily and then added gratefully, “Sister, you’re really amazing!”

The Mo family actually had a conscience and was willing to save her mother?

Hearing all this, she was stunned.

“Really?” Mo Yan could not believe it and could not help but ask.

“Really, really! I watched them pay the money!”

“Mom is really saved?” Mo Yan’s eyes were a little wet as she sobbed.

“Absolutely! Sister, don’t worry! Alright, I’m going to school. Talk to you again soon. Bye bye.” Her younger brother hung up the phone.

Listening to the “Beep, beep, beep” sounds coming from her phone, Mo Yan still could not believe it, and couldn’t help but pinch herself.

Mo Yan broke out into a smile. This meant that she did not have to take out a loan or sell her kidney.

The heavy weights on her shoulders suddenly lightened. Mo Yan could not help but reveal a sincere smile on her face. When she went out and saw Luo Tao coming back from his morning run, Mo Yan even greeted him with a smile on her face, “Luo Tao, Good morning!”

Following that, Mo Yan hummed a song and went to wash the clothes.

Sensing Mo Yan’s happy mood, the corners of Luo Tao’s lips curled up. He was also in a good mood and sent a message to Qin Yuan, “Well done, I owe you a favor.”

Qin yuan quickly replied, “I’m really honored to be able to receive a favor from you. How about this, I’ve been eyeing your global limited edition sports car for a long time. When you return to the Huo family, how about you give me a ride?”

The dignified Fourth Master Huo was in a good mood. He immediately waved his hand and said: My people are still there. When you’re free, just go and get it.

When she came back with a bucket of clean clothes, Mo Yan’s sharp eyes noticed that Luo Tao was seriously looking at something in the room.

A well-known local hooligan who actually knew how to read? Mo Yan was impressed.

Walking over quietly, Mo Yan stuck her head out and found that Luo Tao was actually reading an English report. His finger would swipe down the screen of his phone from time to time.

Having long noticed that Mo Yan was peeping from behind, Luo Tao did not even turn his head back and asked indifferently, “What are you looking at?”

I should be the one asking you this! Mo Yan cursed in her heart and said with an embarrassed expression, “You can read English?”

Luo Tao raised his eyebrows and asked, “Do you think I can’t?”
