Chapter 124: I Promise You One Thing

Mo Yan scribbled down a row of words. “Even so, don’t mention us. I beg you, please don’t mention us.”

“Why? This should be beneficial to you, right? Your company will give you a promotion and a raise if you win this project.”

Mo Yan shook her head like a rattle-drum. “I want to win the project on my own.”

During the day of the banquet, Mo Yan had a few conversations with Xu Tian about connecting with the higher-ups.

Mo Yan asked Xu Tian, “Do you want to connect with the higher-ups so that they will have a good impression of Hong Jing and choose us?” Xu Tian answered no. She wanted them to connect with the higher-ups so that they could understand the leaders’ views on the project and their thoughts on real estate. People with different backgrounds had different needs, and the villa complex project was aimed at the upper-income group, so they needed to get to know those people.

It was only then that Mo Yan realized that her thoughts were too narrow-minded. Sister Xu really wanted to win this project, but she never planned to use underhanded methods.

Lin Ye stared at Mo Yan for a long time and said, “Okay, I won’t say much.”

“I can agree to one request of yours. Even if you can’t think of it now, you can bring it up in the future. Whatever it is, I’ll do it for you.”

Cough! Cough cough cough! Cough cough!

Mo Yan, who was drinking water, choked after hearing Lin Ye’s words. Didn’t they agree that they didn’t owe each other anything?

Mo Yan put down the cup and wrote on the board, “I already said that if you tell me your name, we don’t owe each other anything! If you don’t accept this, then I’ll treat you as a stranger from now on!”

To be honest, they didn’t even know each other very well. Including today, it was only the third time they had met.

Lin Ye saw her serious expression. It seemed that she really didn’t want him to feel indebted, so he could only give up.

Before leaving, Lin Ye told Mo Yan to rest well and said that he would come to see her tomorrow.

Mo Yan nodded quickly. She couldn’t wait for him to leave as soon as possible.

After sending Lin Ye off, Mo Yan let out a long sigh. She wasn’t good at dealing with people who felt indebted to her,

“Mo Yan, has he left?” Li Guoguo poked her little head out from the door and looked inside.

Mo Yan found it funny and waved her hand to let her in.

“Mo Yan, that boy is quite handsome. You saved him. Did he come to give himself to you?”

Li Guoguo chuckled. Seeing that Mo Yan was in good spirits, she joked with Mo Yan.

She and Xu Tian had just gone to ask the doctor about Mo Yan’s condition. The doctor said that she would be fine after two days of rest.

Mo Yan tapped her head with her finger and wrote, “What are you thinking? He’s just here to thank me. Giving himself to me? You’ve read too many novels.”

“Sigh, I also want to save a handsome boy. Mo Yan, you’re married, and I’m still single! I really want to find a handsome boy to have a sweet love affair with.”

Mo Yan thought that she was funny.

“You have a brother-in-law! Your brother-in-law is more handsome than him!”

Li Guoguo saw Mo Yan’s words and instantly pouted, “I haven’t even met your husband yet.”

“I’ll bring him to meet you guys when we get back.”

Mo Yan showed the board to Li Guoguo.

…

Lin Ye did not return to his ward and directly left the hospital. The old man who rescued the two of them yesterday was already waiting by the car.

“Young master, are you going straight home? Sir heard that you had an accident and rushed back from abroad by plane overnight. He just landed. Sir is very worried about you.”

Lin Ye was silent for a moment and answered, “I’ll give him a call in a while. Let’s go to the psychologist first!”

Hearing Lin Ye’s words, the driver turned around at the intersection and drove in the opposite direction of the Lin residence.

“I remember that claustrophobia can be treated, right, Uncle Jiang?”

Lin Ye was fiddling with a bracelet made of Buddhist beads in his hand. His long eyelashes covered his eyes, making it impossible to see his expression clearly.

Uncle Jiang did not expect Lin Ye to bring up this matter and was momentarily stunned. He originally thought that the young master’s claustrophobia would be even more severe after the kidnapping, but he did not expect the young master to take the initiative to ask for treatment.

After a long time, Uncle Jiang sighed and replied, “Yes, young master, it can be treated.”

Uncle Jiang had watched Lin Ye grow up, so he knew the cause of Lin Ye’s claustrophobia.

Although it could be treated, Lin Ye didn’t want others to tease him, so he could only let him grow up with it. Now that the young master was willing to get treatment, it was a blessing.
