Chapter 108: Banquet

Mo Yan and Li Guoguo had spent three days at the site to gather all the necessary information, and Xu Tian had also made some progress.

Xu Tian held back her anger. She vowed to sign this contract, so when she redid the document, she was exceptionally careful and even found more information that they didn’t put in their previous document.

On the morning of the fourth day, when Mo Yan got up, Xu Tian suddenly handed her something. Mo Yan opened it and saw that it was an invitation letter for Lin Group’s banquet.

Without waiting for Mo Yan to speak, Xu Tian explained, “It’s from CEO Song, but I think you are more suitable than me to go.”

“Banquet?”

Mo Yan was puzzled. What was the purpose of this banquet?

“Tonight is Lin Group’s anniversary banquet,” Xu Tian said.

Mo Yan thought for a moment and said, “Only one invitation letter? Since CEO Song gave you the invitation letter, she probably thinks that you are more suitable to go.”

For a big company like Lin Group, only people with a certain status could get an invitation. If they were lucky enough to earn the favor of a big shot, their career path would be paved. This was also the reason why many small celebrities rack their brains trying to get into banquets like this.

Hearing Mo Yan’s words, Xu Tian shook her head. “From what I’ve seen, I’m very sure that you are more suitable to go.”

Seeing Xu Tian praising her, Mo Yan couldn’t help but smile.

However, Mo Yan was still conflicted.

Xu Tian was more experienced than her and had seen more of the market. She would definitely be able to collect more information if she were to attend Lin Group’s anniversary banquet. This was also the reason why CEO Song wanted Xu Tian to go.

What really happened was that Song Yun had assumed that Qin Yuan would give Mo Yan an invitation. That was the reason why she only gave Xu Tian an invitation.

As for Li Guoguo, Song Yun did not bother.

“Sister Xu, you have a good memory and you are more experienced. I think it’s better if you go. Sigh! If only there were two more, then the three of us can go together.”

Xu Tian saw that Mo Yan insisted, so she didn’t say anything more.

During breakfast, Mo Yan asked Xu Tian if she wanted to go look for an evening gown after they were done. If they waited until the afternoon to prepare, Xu Tian might not be able to make it in time.

Li Guoguo asked curiously at the side about the evening gown. Mo Yan replied that Lin Group would be holding an anniversary party tonight, and sister Xu would be attending, so she had to get an evening gown.

“Wow! An anniversary party! I haven’t been to one before! I’m so envious! Sister Xu is going to look so pretty!” Li Guoguo exclaimed exaggeratedly, which made Mo Yan laugh.

Xu Tian, who was sitting across from Li Guoguo and had been paying attention to her, did not ignore the flash of jealousy in her eyes..

“Although we can’t go this time, there will be opportunities in the future!” Mo Yan stroked Li Guoguo’s head and said with a smile.

When Mo Yan and Li Guoguo went shopping on the first day, they saw a lot of makeup studios. These makeup stores all had collaborations with clothing stores.

Just as Mo Yan had expected, after the three of them expressed their needs, the shop assistant brought them to the fitting area. Because they were going to attend a banquet, they looked at high-end brands.

The rental prices were ridiculously expensive. Fortunately, Sister Xu said that CEO Song had given them sufficient funds, which made Mo Yan feel at ease.

Taking advantage of this opportunity to try on clothes, Mo Yan and Li Guoguo also tried on two sets of evening gowns. The fabrics were soft and light, and the simple yet elegant designs accentuated their beautiful figures.

“Mo Yan, why do I feel so awkward wearing an evening gown?”

Mo Yan and Xu Tian turned their gazes to her at the same time. Xu Tian looked elegant in a dark blue fishtail evening gown, while Mo Yan’s light pink strapless evening gown made her look lively, but Li Guoguo…

“Guoguo looks like a child who has stolen an adult’s clothes.”

Mo Yan covered her laughter and teased Li Guoguo, who looked depressed.

Li Guoguo was not as pretty as Mo Yan and Xu Tian, and would often be overlooked.

Moreover, Li Guoguo’s body shape did not suit fishtail gowns, which made her look awkward.

“Mo Yan, stop laughing! Come and help me find a better dress”

Mo Yan looked at her and picked out a slightly cute dress for Li Guoguo. It was a minty green dress with a knee-high hem.

The sleeve covered a little bit of the fat on Li Guoguo’s arms. Although Li Guoguo was not tall, her legs were very beautiful. This short dress allowed her beautiful legs to be seen and flaunted.
