Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 98

A week passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, there were only ten days left in May.

The last class on Friday was about pet training. Su Bai and the others were learning to make medicinal cakes in the laboratory. Vomiting sounds could be heard from time to time in the classroom from the pets, whose Pet Tamers made disgusting medicinal cakes.

Su Bai fed the medicine cakes he made to his pets. The cub’s spiritual power had already reached its current level’s peak, and it was not far from breaking through to become a warlord.

After winning the championship on Sunday last week, the town gave 200,000 rewards to everyone on Monday. As for the materials for upgrading their contract books to silver, their distribution was postponed until this afternoon, when they would head over.

The reason why the cub had progressed so quickly was the effect of the 200,000 yuan along with the three Flowing Cloud Fruit obtained before.

The Flowing Cloud Fruit was worthy of being a spiritual plant with its fruit at the market price of 100,000 yuan a piece. The fruit contained a large amount of pure spiritual power, so Su Bai combined it with other materials to make ten bottles of potion.

The cub had already reached this level after drinking eight bottles of medicine in the past five days, and Su Bai believed that it would break through after drinking the remaining two bottles.

As for its skills, he had yet to prepare them, mainly because Liu Changchun had not paid the advertising fee as promised.

After he followed it up, the man said that it would be transferred today. However, it was already 5 p.m., yet there was still no news.

“When are we going to the Scarlet Monster Wilderness?” Chen Rouxue asked.

After her outstanding performance in the five towns’ spring festival competition, someone gave her a Scarlet Badge. She was now qualified to enter that monster wilderness.

“Didn’t you say it’s dangerous last time? Why do you want to go in now?” Su Bai glanced sideways at her.

“Since it’s the two of us now, we can take care of each other.” The girl blinked.

“Let’s wait a while and enter in June after making preparations. It’s still relatively dangerous inside. As you’ve seen, the cub just broke though, so there’s no way we can go in right now.”

Su Bai shrugged. In fact, he also wanted to go in and explore.

“Okay, but don’t just sneak in by yourself. We’ll go together in June.” Chen Ruoxue nodded.

Soon, the last pet cultivation class in the afternoon ended. As soon as he got up to go to Hou Jie, the phone in his pocket vibrated.

He quickly opened it: Your card number ****2356 received a transaction of 3,000,000.00 yuan. The balance on the card is now 3,001,234.00 yuan…

“Wow, it’s such a cool amount.” Su Bai punched his fists in the air, feeling so excited that he wanted to jump up.

“What happened? What made you so happy? Which young lady sent you a message?” Chen Ruoxue teased.

“Look at this.” Su Bai pulled her over and handed her his phone.

“One hundred thousand, two hundred… three million. The advertising fee has been transferred; no wonder you’re so excited.” Chen Ruoxue counted the amount and was shocked.

Even though she had known the amount already, she was still shocked to see this text message. After all, this was the first time she had seen this much money.

Su Bai chuckled. “Hehe! I hereby announce that you’re to be provided for.”

He then turned and walked to the podium. With three million more in his pockets, he felt like he was floating.

“Teacher Hou, will you be at the Blue Moon Cultivation House tomorrow? I wanna pick some skills for my pets,” he asked.

“Yes, you can come over; I’ll be there.” His teacher smiled. “I said last time that I will give you a small gift once you hatch the Purgatory Tyrant. Come over tomorrow and I’ll give it to you. I keep forgetting about it.”

“Thank you, teacher! I’ll be there tomorrow morning.” He turned to leave after saying this.

…

“Ah, the days of training are so tiring. I feel like I’ve lost a few pounds recently.” Yang Zhou sighed as he walked.

“What an exaggeration. It’s only been less than ten days,” Jiang Yang said in disdain.

“You can do it, guys.”

Looking at them, Su Bai finally gave up the idea of inviting them to a big meal. He would wait for the college entrance examination to be over first.

“You two can go first. Ruoxue and I are going to the town government.”

After they had walked for a while, he said.

“Okay, let’s go.” Yang Zhou and Jiang Yang did not say much, since they already knew that the pair did not want to be with them.

“Let’s go to the bank to make money.”

Su Bai pulled Chen Ruoxue along.

“Just look at how happy you are.” The girl pouted.

“Of course, this is the first time I made so much money.”

When they arrived at the bank, he transferred the 200,000 yuan he had promised to Wang Er and the others.

Including Chen Ruoxue, four individuals amounted to 800,000 yuan. After sending them their share, he was left with 2,200,000 yuan. He originally wanted to give Chen Ruoxue a little more but decided against it in the end.

Money was too vulgar and was not as good as other gifts.

Moreover, his girlfriend was not particularly short on money. She was her family’s only daughter and a little rich lady.

“I thought that you would give me more money quietly, but you turned out to be so cold.” Chen Ruoxue looked at the phone, pretending to be angry.

“Stop this kind of proposition; come here and I’ll give you my bank card.” He hugged her shoulders and put the bank card around her neck.

“Keep it; I don’t want it. Let’s go quickly. We still have to find Chen Bo.”

Chen Rouxue giggled, putting the bank card into his pocket and pushing him away.

“Howl!”

The three pets followed behind happily.

“Oh, you’re finally here. Everyone else has collected their stuff and left.” Chen Bo told the two when he saw them coming.

“We were delayed on the way.” Su Bai glanced at Chen Rouxue.

“Okay, this is your material. It should be enough for your contract book to advance to silver directly. You can take it away after you sign here.” The man pushed two boxes to them.

Opening the box, Su Bai saw a broken green branch which looked like an emerald inside. This branch exuded a strong breath of life and made people feel refreshed.

“It’s actually a Coral Branch of Life; what a good material!”

Su Bai nodded in satisfaction. The Coral Branch of Life was a kind of coral that grew in the deep sea. Legend had it that it grew only one centimeter every ten decades, so it was a very precious treasure. Although this was only a Tier 2 material, it was definitely enough to promote his contract book.

“This is… a Netherstone?” Chen Ruoxue looked at the dark stone in her box with uncertainty.

“No, that’s a Cursed Stone. It’s a little strange, and it’s rumored to be a kind of ghostly cursed insect which turned into it after death. It may contain some of the cursed insect’s skills during its lifetime.”

Su Bai looked at the stone and explained. The Cursed Stone was very similar to but was ultimately different from the Netherstone. The Netherstone was just a special stone formed in a place with strong ghostly power.

“No, the booklet says that this is a Netherstone. Did you recognize the wrong thing?” Chen Bo looked at the boy with a complicated gaze.

“Who knows? I’m not a professional appraiser, anyway.” Su Bai shrugged.

“Okay, you can take it away after you sign here.” Chen Bo nodded. Anyway, he had not taken out the wrong thing for them, so would it not be nice to just do them a favor here?

The two signed the papers and left numbly with their items.

They ran to an uninhabited field with their pets. As the sun set, the two summoned their contract books.

Two bronze two-star contract books, one exuding a strong breath of life and the other exuding a dark ghost atmosphere, appeared.

“Let me do it first.”

Su Bai said as he placed the Coral Branch of Life above the contract book.

As his mind moved, the contract book radiated light, and the Coral Branch of Life was wrapped in an emerald liquid before submerging in the book. He felt like his spirit had fallen into an ethereal state. Not only his mental power was slowly increasing, it seemed like some profound meanings were being submerged in his spiritual sea.

The bronze contract book slowly changed color as it was completely promoted to a silver one-star contract book.

With a wave of his hand, the book opened to reveal the emerald pages. At this time, there were two more blank emerald green pages in the contract book.

Thus, Su Bai had two new uses for the contract book in his mind. He tried calling his two pets.

“Roar!”

“Howl!”

Both raised their heads at him and started circling him.

He focused on the thought and clearly transferred his meaning to the two pets.

“Come, do you want to try entering the contract book?” he asked.

“Howl!”

The cub nodded immediately. It wanted to go in and take a look.

The Little Tyrant also looked at the contract book longingly.

“Okay, go in.” He nodded and mobilized the contract book. With a flash of green light, both pets were taken into their respective contract pages.

Su Bai could see in his mind that the space was not big and could be considered small at about five times the size of his pets.

Other than having healing and hypnotic properties, pets would enter hibernation shortly after going into their respective pages.

Generally speaking, it was a resting place and somewhere he could store his pets.

The pets yawned after wandering around for a while, and he quickly released them again.

“Howl?”

The two little guys looked at the surrounding fields, suddenly shaking off their sleepiness and bursting into playfulness again.

“How did it feel?” asked Chen Ruoxue with a smile.

“Not bad.” Su Bai nodded, feeling like his body had also received a certain amount of strength to feed back on.

Moreover, the life sharing of the bond skills between him and the cub had evolved his summoner skills, which meant that he could now use life sharing with other pets.

He even wondered if he could use himself as a medium to share his life among his pets at certain critical moments. He played with the possibility in his head.

“Then let me see if there are any skills left in this Cursed Stone.”

Chen Rouxue also started the promotion of her contract book.

Soon, her contract book was successfully promoted, and she smiled happily.

“There’s really one skill, called the Shadow Curse. It can summon the shadow of the cursed object to help oneself fight, but this shadow only has 70% of the opponent’s power.”

“It’s pretty good,l; you’re lucky.” Su Bai approached her. “Do I have a reward for being a great hero? For example, a kiss or something?”

“Dream on! I’ll treat you to dinner at most.” Chen Rouxue rolled her eyes.

“Rice?” He grinned.

The girl stayed silent and tried to get familiar with the contract book’s new uses first following its promotion. Big Demon also urged her to put it inside so that it could take a look.

“Let’s go back.” The boy walked to the girl and carried her up with his arms around her waist.

“Ahh! Put me down…”

Although Chen Rouxue was yelling no, her arms still wrapped around Su Bai’s neck.

“I refuse. Who told you to be so cute…”

“Hey… I told you not to kiss my face at will…”

“Then give it back to me…”

“Dream on! Let’s go quickly…”

As the sun set, the shadows of the two overlapped.

After dinner, Chen Ruoxue was sent home.

Su Bai went to the pet market for another stroll and then spent 50,000 yuan to buy five live mid-level servant insect monsters, the kind that was completely useless.

When he returned home, he greeted his parents and went to his bedroom.

On the bedroom table, the Little Bloodworm was eating an energy medicinal cake in the glass jar. Upon seeing the pets, it quickly went into hiding in fright.

“Howl! ( ̄へ ̄)”

The cub glanced unhappily at it. What was it hiding for? It was not going to eat it.

The Little Tyrant opened its big mouth and snapped a volcanic rock in half, making the bug shiver in fright.

“Okay, don’t scare it.” Su Bai glared at his naughty pets.

He reached in, and the Little Bloodworm quickly crawled to his palm and rubbed it affectionately.

Among the two demons, Su Bai was simply an angel in its eyes. He gave it delicious food and also protected it from harm.

As for the fact that this boy had captured it, that was completely unimportant now.

“Come, Little Bloodworm, use your silk thread to kill these five sleeping guys.”

Looking down at the Little Bloodworm, Su Bai pointed to the five fist-size mid-level servant insects.

“Si…”

Without hesitation, the Little Bloodworm directly spat five silk threads to strangle the five insects’ necks. After a few times, their heads fell down.

The Little Bloodworm flicked off the serous on the silk threads and took them back.

It was also at this time that five golden auras flew out of the five dead insects and merged into the Little Bloodworm.

Su Bai was looking forward to seeing any changes, but nothing happened. He looked at Little Bloodworm’s data. Its lifespan had increased by five days. Nothing else had changed, and even its spiritual power had not increased a bit.

“It seems that 10,000 Dragon Breaths must be gathered for you to change.”

Sighing, he put the Little Bloodworm back into the glass jar. Although this matter was a bit urgent, he was not in a rush and could take his time.

The Little Bloodworm was a little puzzled. Why did Su Bai make it kill these bugs? It could not feel any changes at all.

The Little Tyrant came over and mobilized its spiritual power to dig out the five thumb-size crystal nuclei. These crystal nuclei were not very useful and were too complicated.

“Come on; let’s have dinner. I’ll give you a new flavor potion tomorrow.”

Su Bai took out the medicine cakes prepared for the two pets from the cabinet.

“Howl! Ψ( ̄∀ ̄)Ψ”

Ah Bai, you’re finally willing to let us have dinner; we’re so hungry!

“Roar~ (๑ ́•『•`๑)”

It’s dinnertime!

Eating was of utmost priority, and they had been looking forward to dinnertime for a long time. When they saw Su Bai taking out medicinal cakes, they almost salivated in their anticipation.

In the past, Su Bai could not understand their thoughts oftentimes, but now he could fully understand them.

“Buddy, are you very dissatisfied with me?” Su Bai put down their food and placed it in front of them. He then reached out to caress the cub’s head.

“Howl! ( ̄へ ̄)”

Hmph! How would I dare to be dissatisfied with Ah Bai? You only know how to care for the little bug and don’t love me or my younger brother anymore.

The cub avoided his touch and took its medicinal cake.

“Are you dissatisfied with me, too?” He helplessly glanced at the Little Tyrant.

“Roar~ ( ̄ー ̄)”

The little fellow looked at him and then at the Little Bloodworm in the jar. Ah Bai, stop caring about that nasty worm. I can pinch it to death with a single fingernail; it’s simply useless.

Su Bai: “…”

At this moment, strong spiritual power fluctuations came from the cub. Su Bai quickly looked at it and realized that it was about to break through.
