Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 75

Chapter 75: Father of All Male Classmates, Priority When Choosing a Spouse

Upon seeing the certificate, the various question marks in his classmates’ hearts all disappeared.

It was true.

It turned out that Su Bai was such a terrifying big boss. Sure enough, people and their physical looks could not be generalized.

They could not understand the world of a big boss.

Shi Lei wilted and slumped in his seat. How could he possibly have obtained a junior trainer certificate?

His perfect plan was ruined just like this, and he felt simply bitter about it.

Guo Dong swallowed his saliva. D*mn it! Did his rival have to be so powerful?

“Good. In the future, the cultivation class representative will be Su Bai. Now, I invite all students to follow me to the laboratory.

“Since you’re not in grade 3 yet, there’s no official textbook, so I’ll only teach you some basic cultivation knowledge for now.

“Your first task is to train your pets well.”

Hou Jie walked out with a textbook. The Wood Specter glanced at everyone before exiting the room as well.

Su Bai glanced at Shi Lei, who was still rooted to his chair. Heh, you don’t know anything about the strong.

“Haha! Look at how furious our new class monitor is. He should’ve likely plotted to obtain the position for a long time, but who would’ve thought that a dark horse like Su Bai would appear out of nowhere?”

Yang Zhou laughed wildly, happy to see the annoying prefect upset.

“You still dared to laugh? Be careful, lest he make you clean the classroom.” Jiang Yang glanced at him, but he secretly felt happy, too.

“It seems like Shi Lei won’t target us anymore. After all, he already knows that we’re not easy to mess with.”

Chen Rouxue grabbed her pet’s wings when she said that.

“Hehe! (✪ω✪)”

Big Demon was aroused by the cub’s beatings and chased after it in attempts to play together.

“Howl! ( ̄へ ̄)”

Purple Jade proudly walked to its owner’s side, expressing its refusal to play.

As everyone piled out of the room, a lot of Su Bai’s classmates approached him, wanting to see his junior trainer certificate, and once they laid eyes on it, their expressions would predictably change, then their smile would turn mischievous as they aimed to befriend him.

Unlike the teachers, these students were fearless of not cultivating their pets well with this big boss around.

The girls in the class took turns acting coquettish and cute. The school flower, Liu Weiwei, came forward to see his trainer certificate, her coldness and reservedness having fallen to the ground.

Not only had the boy instantly become the father of all the male classmates, he had also gained unparalleled priority in being chosen as a spouse.

“Can we practice pet battles together after school?” The girl battled her eyelids tantalizingly. She was like a daisy glowing amid snow with her beautiful appearance, and her velvety voice made it difficult for people to refuse her.

“I’m really sorry, but I don’t have much time these days.” Su Bai shook his head in refusal.

“Okay, then call me whenever you have time.”

This belle glanced at Chen Rouxue, then nodded, and left quickly.

“How is it? Isn’t it cool to have the priority of being chosen as a spouse?” Yang Zhou leaned over and whispered. “Big brother, if you don’t want the girls, just introduce them to me. I really wanna train with beauties, especially a cold and reserved missy like Liu Weiwei.”

“Go away; you don’t deserve it!” Su Bai glanced at his friend. This guy was too perverted.

“It’s really too sad for you. You’ve never even touched a girl’s hand.” Jiang Yang laughed and mocked.

“You can go and die!” Yang Zhou punched him angrily.

“Let’s go; stop horsing around. We need to occupy a better seat,” said Chen Rouxue, seemingly unmoved.

When they arrived at the laboratory, this group of friends still felt curious about the various equipment. After all, they had not been here much.

“Okay, everyone. Bring your pets for inspection one by one.” Hou Jie turned on the automatic integrated inspection machine and glanced at Su Bai. “Come here and help me record the data.”

“Oh, okay.” The boy nodded.

The class ended soon after the pet testing. Their teacher studied the pet data and status, then she gave corresponding cultivation plans.

Su Bai also formulated a cultivation plan for the rest of the class. He was idle and was not stingy with those who believed in him, so he became an assistant teacher.

“When your Purgatory Tyrant’s egg hatches, I’ll give you a present.”

Hou Jie patted the teen on the shoulder, feeling gratified. He was a good student who really reduced her workload by half. Such a lovely pupil had to be treated well.

“Haha! Thank you, teacher.” Su Bai did not reject this offer. He was poor and could only survive this long on gifts given by big bosses like Hou Jie.

“Howl!”

After class, he sat at the experimental table and teased the cub. He held an energy medicinal cake in his hand, raising it higher every time his pet was about to reach it. Having promised not to use its spiritual power, the cub jumped up and down to try and reach the food. It became angry and glared at him for teasing it.

“Erm, I take back what I said before. Let’s manage the class together in the future; I hope to create a harmonious atmosphere for everyone.” Shi Lei suddenly walked over and released a string of words.

“Sure, no problem.”

Su Bai nodded, feeling completely indifferent. These small class representative positions in the school were not worth a mention, and he was not interested in obtaining them. He would just pretend and act cordially, but people like Shi Lei really thought of themselves as important officials, unable to extricate themselves from their mundane roles.

If it were not for Hou Jie, he would not want to be a class representative.

“Haha, in that case, let’s have a meal together after school. I’ll treat you.” Although a little unhappy with his slow attitude, Shi Lei still issued an invitation with a smile.

“No need; I have something to do after school. I don’t have time these days.” Su Bai refused.

“All right.” After a few moments of silence, the pedantic prefect turned around and backed away.

In the second class, Hou Jie talked about some basic methods of making energy medicinal cakes. It was one of the basic skills of professional Pet Tamers.

They did not need to be like a professional pharmacist trainer but must learn the most basic types of energy potions and medicinal cakes. Now that the automatic machines were very convenient to use, the general medicinal cakes were easy to make, too.

Some other high-level medicines, such as the profound silk, relied on pharmacists to concoct, and machines and ordinary people could not make them.

“Next, I’ll send you some materials. Everyone, follow my steps and make the energy medicinal cake slowly. The goal is to keep your pet from vomiting after consuming it.”

She laughed and continued her lesson.

Su Bai looked at the wood spirit crystal green fruit, bitter salvia, and medicinal cake essence in his hands. These were the materials for making wood-attribute, basic energy medicinal cakes.

By the time the teacher finished speaking, he had already finished baking the cake. He casually threw it at his pet.

“Howl~ Ψ( ̄∀ ̄)Ψ”

Purple Jade jumped up and ate it in elation.

“Burp!”

Suddenly, the sound of vomiting echoed. He turned around and saw that Yang Zhou’s Little Conch had directly vomited the energy medicinal cake and was currently flushing its mouth with water.

His friend sheepishly rubbed his head. “No way. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

The conch climbed to Su Bai, having had enough of its owner.

“Gulp, gulp~”

It nudged the cub, indicating that it wanted to play with it in the future.

“Howl~”

The cub raised its paw and patted the jewel-like shell of the conch. It nodded in agreement, indicating that it had chosen rightly to live in the lap of luxury.

Yang Zhou was speechless.

“Hahaha…”

A roar of laughter exploded in the classroom, making the atmosphere extremely cheerful.

“Student Yang, the energy medicinal cake still contains the bitterness of the Blue Sea Urchin. It needs to be improved.”

Hou Jie walked over and looked.

“Yes, teacher; I’ll work hard,” he immediately answered.

Puff puff~

Not long after, intermittent puking sounded in the laboratory, with a dozen pets spitting energy medicinal cakes. They turned away from their Pet Tamers in disdain.

“Ah, White Cloud Tadpole, I was wrong! Don’t run away…”

“Puff~ (`へ ́*)ノ”

“Rainbow Sparrow, I was wrong; I’ll have a bite first next time…”

“Spark Duck, come here! I’ll try again; please don’t be angry…”

…

In an instant, a dozen pets ran away from their Pet Tamers and would have rushed out if not for the Wood Specter.

The pets also had it difficult and felt hopeless to be stuck with their fraudulent owners.

After the training class was physical training class. The teacher was the big-muscled instructor, Teng Yan. Wherever his Stone-ice Blizzard Furbolg stopped, no one dared not to train well.

The worst thing was when Yang Zhou and Jiang Yang were treated harshly because they had stabbed its anus previously. The male instructor specially increased the training intensity for the two.

He even appointed Yang Zhou as the class representative, intent on getting back at the boy.

The afternoon classes were all theoretical knowledge classes. Today, everyone really got a deep understanding of what it meant to be in third year of high school.

“Son, you’re back. How was school today? Do you like your new class?” His mother was at home when Su Bai returned, and she came out with a plate of grapes.

“I’m okay with it, but the new class monitor is quite unlikeable. By the way, I became the cultivation class representative.

“Still, because I have a special pet training class, I’ll have more time after school in the future. I can consider doing something else.” He sat on the sofa and spoke while picking up a grape each for himself and the cub.

“Oh, then work hard; it’s best not to venture in the wild these days. It seems that there’s a wanted criminal in our town who kidnapped a fifteen-year-old. It pays to be more careful.”

Mother Su nodded, then peeled a grape, and fed it to the cub.

“A wanted criminal… I understand, mom.” Su Bai nodded. It seemed like those wanted criminals were related to that blood pet he had seen previously.

Leaving the cub to play with his mother, he retired to his bedroom. The first time he did was look at the Purgatory Tyrant’s egg.

He tried pouring some light balls into it.

“Huh? It failed? Is it saturated already?”

The boy was shocked to see that the fire attribute light balls could not be pressed into the egg.

After waiting for a minute, he picked up the earth attribute and undead attribute light balls but still could not press them in.

“I see! It has reached saturation so fast. I really wanna hatch you soon,” he exclaimed. The egg had entered the hatching stage, but because he was poor, he could not incubate it yet.

He had to make some money as soon as possible.

With the remaining time, he did not take the cub out for exercise but studied about incubation steps and wrote them down, instead.

The day passed quickly, and he resumed lessons on Tuesday as per usual. However, because of the pet training class, they were released at 6 p.m. instead of 5 p.m.

This way, Su Bai did not need to bring his pet for training after school and could train with it in class together. The competition among the pets was becoming more intense, so the training effect was improving.

On Wednesday morning, he took a leave of absence from school to participate in the selection of the spring festival contest.

In the spring morning, the dew was damp and cold, the grasses and trees were verdant, and the brambling birds chirped.

The slight cool breeze blew as he walked, bringing along the freshness of the forest this early morning. The fragrance of flowers by the roadside mixed with the pleasant melody of spring.

Su Bai walked on the wet concrete floor with the cub beside him. Its little furry paws stepped on the ground without making any noise, its lovely ears occasionally swaying slightly as it looked around with its purple, round eyes.

From time to time, it would walk to a morning glory on the roadside and smell it; the cub tilted its head and bit off a piece of grass before gnawing on it slowly.

“Buddy, keep up!”

The boy watched the sun rising bit by bit in the east. The clouds were dyed faint red, which fascinated him greatly.

He turned his head and occasionally called to the cub, which was playing on the roadside.

“Howl~”

The cub ran to Su Bai with a piece of green grass in its mouth. Soon, it was attracted by a small grasshopper jumping about.

When they arrived on the street, it was not crowded yet. He ordered two small dumplings and two bowls of porridge at a steamed bun shop.

He prepared an energy medicinal cake and a bottle of milk-flavored potion for the cub.

“Wow, you came really early.” Not long after, Chen Rouxue walked in and spoke.

“I prefer the morning fresh air, so I woke up earlier. I already ordered breakfast for you; let’s eat slowly.” He nodded.

“Thank you!” Grinning, the girl took out two bowls from her backpack and poured an energy medicinal cake and a potion into the bowl belonging to Xiao Bai.

“Hehe!”

Big Demon jumped onto the table and extended its big tongue to lick the potion. It finished half a bowl of energy medicinal cake in one bite.

The cub glanced at Xiao Bai, then moved its bowl back slightly to protect it. It ate slowly, looking at Su Bai from time to time, asking for a bite of his steamed buns.

The two humans chatted while eating dumplings stuffed with pork and green onions.

“Today, during the final selection, they’ll choose five out of ten people to represent Carp Town in the five cities’ spring festival contest. Our opponents are all quite strong,” said the girl after taking a sip of porridge.

“It’s alright. We should be fine after the assessment. Otherwise, we’ll be letting down our reputation as champions, right?” He smiled reassuringly.

“Of course, I’m just saying.” She smiled as well. “Still, Yang Zhou and the others were eliminated, so only the two of us can go.”

“There’s no other way; their pets’ cultivations are still too low.”

Su Bai shook his head.

“Hehe (*⊙~⊙)”

Big Demon suddenly fell on the table, staring at its owner with big dazed eyes.

“HOWL!” The cub laughed wildly upon seeing this sight. How stupid was the pet to choke itself? It was too embarrassing.

Chen Rouxue became speechless.

Picking up her pet, she patted its back vigorously, then made it drink half a bottle of water. Finally, the guy swallowed the energy medicinal cake stuck in its throat.

“Hehe~”

It nudged her affectionately.

She put it down and continued eating with Su Bai.

“Hehe~ (.•؎•.)”

Looking at the cub which was still eating, Big Demon stuck out its big tongue piteously.

“Howl!”

Purple Jade quickly finished its remaining energy potion and jumped on a bench with its energy medicinal cake. Don’t touch my food. This can’t be shared; it’s impossible in this lifetime.

Since Big Demon could not snatch the cub’s cake, it flew over and watched as the other ate.

Every now and then, it would hand over a steamed bun it snatched from Chen Rouxue and place it in front of the cub.

“Hehe~”

There you go.

Glancing at it, the cub grabbed the bun and threw it back. Xiao Bai opened its blood-basin mouth and swallowed the bun in one bite.

Purple Jade: “…”

“Let’s go to the examination room!”

After finishing their meals, Su Bai said.
