Starting With Contract Pets Chapter 177

Chapter 177: A Little Excited

“Ah, I’m finally back.” Su Bai looked at the Baiyue Manor in front of him and let out a sigh.

This was the longest time he had been out, and he had not even returned on Chinese New Year.

He originally planned to return home for his birthday but did not expect the City League Tournament to be held ahead of schedule.

Taking out the key and opening the gate of the manor, what greeted him was a colorful scenery. Various spiritual plants in spiritual fields exuded faint lights as they gently swayed in the breeze.

On the hillside in the distance, a group of Flower-scented Dairy Cows were freely eating fresh pasture.

“Howl!” Purple Jade loved the environment now.

Green light radiated from its body and spread in the surroundings. Right away, the growth of the plants became more vibrant.

Together, they walked toward the Azure Dragon Mound. He would take the next three months to review properly. As for his pets’ strength, there was no hope of improving it in the meantime, so he would take his time slowly.

The catalyses needed to be guided by energy agents gradually, and the speed would be accelerated bit by bit, so it was expected to take several months.

As for their food, he needed not worry about it, either. After spending so long in the Scarlet Wilderness, his harvest was quite rich. There was no need to worry about his pets at all.

“Son, you’re back so soon.” His father waved at him from a spiritual field.

“We thought you’d play in Ancheng for a while after winning the championship; we didn’t expect you to return so soon. Have you eaten? I can cook for you if not.” His mother smiled at him questioningly.

It was obvious from their happy smiles just how proud they were of him winning the championship.

In fact, even though they looked so calm right now, the two had been shouting in excitement when they watched the live broadcast. Especially when they saw his big victory, they were happier than anyone else.

Their son’s strength had been even more shocking; they really could not understand how he managed to improve so fast. Could it be because he picked spiritual plants in the monster wilderness? It did not seem like it was so easy to enter the monster wilderness, though.

They had been stunned for two whole days but still failed to understand it.

“I already ate; I’m not hungry now.” Su Bai shook his head.

“Alright, there’s one more thing. Yesterday, the village head came and said that they want to organize a banquet for you. It’s to celebrate the birth of such a young and powerful professional Pet Tamer in our village. We have yet to give our response,” said Mother Su.

Ever since Su Bai showed off his strength as an elite Pet Tamer, the people in the village had become like licking dogs and would come over to ask for their opinions on everything.

It felt like they were looking to them for leadership.

“No need; I find it troublesome. There’s nothing to celebrate about becoming an elite Pet Tamer as it’s only the beginning.” He shook his head and refused.

“Okay, remember to come down for dinner tonight. We’ll celebrate your birthday by then.”

“Okay, I will.” He nodded.

Back on the Azure Dragon Mound, he first noticed a beautifully designed spiritual garden.

“Su Yue, you’ve done very well.”

Su Bai nodded in satisfaction. His younger brother not only grew all these spiritual plants but also cultivated them very elegantly and stylishly.

That kid is very diligent, he thought in his heart.

“Howl~” Ah Bai, this spiritual soil is very special~ The cub examined the spiritual soil and howled.

“It should be the special spiritual soil produced by Su Yue’s green ant.” He spoke while examining the dark green granular spiritual soil.

He entered the villa, but his younger brother was not in his laboratory and had probably gone to school.

However, the laboratory was full of various test tubes, and inside the test tubes were all kinds of medicines with varying colors.

Su Bai took a look around and found that Su Yue’s level of potion production was quite terrifying. There were already several kinds of potions that he had researched.

“Alright, play by yourselves; I’ll go to sleep first.”

When he arrived at the second floor, he released all his pets and let them play by themselves while he slept.

By the time he woke up, it was already afternoon, and the sun was setting.

“Howl!()〈))” You big lazy pig, hurry up and feed us lunch! We are so hungry! loudly howled the cub at him, clearly very dissatisfied.

Turning around, he saw the five pets waiting to be fed in the living room. The only one which looked slightly better was the Ice Phoenix. It was exercising by itself but still gazed at him with hungry pupils.

“Sorry, I overslept.”

He quickly took out medicinal cakes to make up for the pets. Upon seeing the food, they all ran over numbly.

While the pets ate, he went to wash his face.

The pets had already finished eating by the time he finished washing his face.

“I’m going for lunch; anyone wants to come with me?” he asked.

Other than his pet dragon, all four shook their heads.

“Okay, then. Little Dragon, come with me.”

Su Bai raised his hand for the dragon to wrap itself around his wrist.

“Big bro, you’re too impressive! I watched the game. How did the Little Tyrant do that with the Fireball skill?” At the dining table, Su Yue patted him on the shoulder and exclaimed.

“Oh, it’s a secret. Actually, I’m not quite sure, either.” He shrugged.

“Okay, but you’re really too formidable. You became an elite Pet Tamer in a single year,” complimented his younger brother.

“I’m alright. There are numerous people of similar age as me in the Pet Alliance who already have monarch pets.” He shook his head.

“In our eyes, you are already very formidable.” His mother laughed.

In order to celebrate his birthday and him winning the championship, she whipped up a table full of dishes.

“Yes, our family has reached this point all because of your talent. You’re full of potential,” his father exclaimed.

To think that, just a year ago, he had still persuaded Su Bai not to take the path of a professional Pet Tamer. Who knew that he would grow to this point within a year and also come to possess such indomitable strength?

Not only did he develop such indomitable strength, he even brought huge changes to the whole family.

“Big bro, if you used all your money to buy beginner materials, would you reach the sovereign level now?” Su Yue chuckled.

“Hmm… Considering Jade’s potential score, do you think it’s possible? It’s fate that I bought a Queen of Thorns’s crystal nucleus.” He shook his head.

“You’re right. It’s probably too expensive to incubate materials with a potential of over 90. Strength flies so fast; I can become a Pet Tamer next year, too,” gushed Su Yue.

“By the way, mom, dad, have you two hatched the pet eggs I gave you?” asked Su Bai curiously.

“Of course!”

The two opened their contract books and out flew two pets, a black dragon and a bird with electric lights shining in its purple eyes.

Looking at their data, Su Bai nodded in satisfaction. Although they did not have the best features, they were still pretty good.

“They’re great; I’ll give you the two cultivation manuals tomorrow. You can cultivate them accordingly,” he said.

“Your brother has written a copy for us; I’ll show it to you,” said Mother Su as she got up to retrieve the manual.

After getting the training manual written by Su Yue, he looked at it seriously.

“It’s not bad, but it’s not detailed enough. According to the detected data, this isn’t the optimal cultivation plan, but it’s not bad. I just need to change it a bit.”

Su Bai took out a pen and quickly corrected it.

“It’s done.” He took about ten minutes to finish writing.

Su Yue took it over in disbelief and then exclaimed in admiration, “It seems that I still can’t compare to you in terms of pet cultivation.”

“You can do it; you just need more experience. Your level of medicine production has already surpassed me.” He smiled in praise.

After eating, the two went back to their residences.

Early the next morning, Su Bai rode the cub to school.

As soon as he was out on the street, a black Audi stopped beside him.

“Get in the car.” someone said.

Nodding, he put the cub inside then opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.

“Teacher, why didn’t you ride your pet? Isn’t it faster?” He asked Hou Jie.

“I like to experience the feeling of driving occasionally.” The woman chuckled. “By the way, have you eaten breakfast?”

“No.”

“Would you like to go together, or is Chen Ruoxue bringing breakfast for you?” Hou Jie blinked at him.

“Let’s go together; she is still in the monster wilderness and may not be back until April or May,” he said.

“Huh? Didn’t you go together? Did you guys fight?” asked Hou Jie, puzzled.

“No, she felt like a flower vase next to me, so she went on an adventure with a female senior.” Su Bai shrugged helplessly.

“Hahaha, then are you not very sad, right? You obviously wanted to become stronger to protect her, but in the end she slipped away to stop being a flower vase.”

Hou Jie smiled widely from ear to ear.

Su Bai: “…”

“Hahaha! Young lad, as your teacher, let me give you a piece of advice: Don’t keep your girlfriend as just a pretty face. Even if your girlfriend accepts it, you won’t be able to stand it for a long time.

“A couple must be able to help and support each other throughout, and only then can they get along for a long time.

“If only one party sacrifices blindly, it will definitely become a pathological relationship.” Hou Jie drove backhand and patted him on the shoulder with one hand.

Su Bai: “…Teacher, you don’t even have a boyfriend and have even had a relationship before.”

His retort immediately hit her sore spot, and she glared at him with clenched fists.

“Do you think I can’t find a boyfriend?”

“Teacher, how could you possibly not find a boyfriend? Thank you for your reminder; I’ll treat you to breakfast.” He quickly smiled.

“Since you’re sincerely treating me, then I won’t stand on ceremony.” She nodded.

They stopped in front of an eatery and walked over to have breakfast.

Su Bai ordered sweet bean curd and fried dough sticks, while Hou Jie ordered salted bean curd and fried dough sticks.

“The sweet dish is bland; you should try this salty dish,” she said.

“They’re both good; I like either sweet or salty.” He shrugged.

As the two chatted, the waiter quickly brought their breakfast.

“Are you still going into the monster wilderness next?” asked Hou Jie. She then took a bite of her fried dough.

“No, my pets need to settle for now. It’s meaningless to go to the monster wilderness. I’d rather take the time to study.” He shook his head.

“You’re right. Your progress is too terrifying; it’s time to adjust first.” Hou Jie nodded. “By the way, I have yet to congratulate you on winning the championship. Come, let’s down our bean curds.”

Su Bai: “…”

After bumping bowls with her, he downed his bean curd.

Once breakfast was over, she drove him to school.

His classmates all froze for a while upon seeing him enter the classroom, but after remembering that he was already an elite Pet Tamer, they smiled helplessly.

No one was jealous of him anymore, not even the picky Shi Lei or the persistent Guo Dong. They breathed out deeply upon seeing him, envy and despair rolling in their eyes.

He was too formidable to have become an elite Pet Tamer in a single year and a strong Pet Tamer, too.

All of them had just cultivated their pets to warlord grade and had not even been able to evolve them.

“F*ck, you’re finally here! I watched the game; you were too fierce.” Yang Zhou rushed over and patted him on the shoulder fiercely.

“You carried your teammates and were really too formidable, especially the Little Tyrant’s Fireball skill. Now, many people are studying the principles behind it!” Chen Tingting chimed in.

“You didn’t even look at your online account, did you? It has increased by more than 100,000 followers,” Jiang Yang commented.

Their current pets had been bred to the warlord grade.

Among them, Chen Tingting was already the most powerful. She had successfully evolved the Blade Praying Mantis independently into a Double-blade Praying Mantis, and now she possessed the restraint skill Immortal Soul of War.

These three were originally elated, thinking that they were finally about to catch up with Su Bai, but they received a heavy blow upon seeing him slaughter his opponents in the City League Tournament.

“It’s okay. You all have made great progress.” Su Bai shook his head.

In the two days of the game, he chatted with them and learned about their progress.

“Compared to you, our progress isn’t worth a mention. Who doesn’t know that the more pets progress, the harder it becomes?” Yang Zhou complained.

“Then you can continue working hard. Once the Little Conch evolves one more time, it’s basically a done deal. I can tell you its secret then.” Su Bai laughed.

“What’s the secret? Can’t you tell me in advance, Brother Bai?” The boy’s heart was itchy.

“No.” He shook his head as he sat in his seat and opened a book.

Yang Zhou was temporarily speechless. “By the way, where’s Ruoxue?”

“She won’t be back for a while.” Su Bai shrugged.

Soon after, class started and he temporarily returned to a peaceful campus life.

He seldom took pet training classes now and usually read a book while listening to the teacher. Occasionally, the teacher would come over to discuss with him or ask him for help in demonstrating to the class.

This was because his current strength was not weaker than the teacher.

After school, in addition to staying home, he would go to the Blue Moon Cultivation House to work as a trainer or play with Yang Zhou and the others.

He spent one and a half months in such a silent manner.

One night, when he had already fallen asleep, the old hen-like Ice Phoenix opened its eyes in the bedroom. After making sure that everyone was asleep, it crawled out of the window silently.

“Quack.” I’m going to break through to the commander grade today. I must find a good hidden place where Ah Bai or the others can’t find me.

Thinking like this in its heart, it looked around, chose a direction, and disappeared into the night.

Actually, it had done this several times before. Although its strength on the surface was a low-level warlord, it had actually quietly reached the high-level warlord and had evolved into a Mysterious Ice Phoenix.

Today, it would quietly rush toward the commander grade.

“Quack.” I suddenly feel a little excited. After my promotion, I think I’ll have some self-protection abilities.

At these joyous thoughts, the Ice Phoenix became more excited.
