Two months passed

Elsa and Alex have officially divorced, finally, Haikal’s custody falls into Alex’s hands with the help of Dean and Bryana. Raymond still can’t accept Alex’s apology because he’s so upset over his father’s death.

Currently, Alex lives in a minimalist house with Haikal and Anna as babysitters and also his assistant Sinta. He works as a manager in a private company that works with Dean’s company. Elsa was married to Carlos when after officially divorcing him. His ex-wife was on a honeymoon to the USA and didn’t care that Haikal’s custody didn’t fall on her as if he had been blinded by treasure.

Monica and Raymond were in Bandung to be precise at Monica’s parents’ house. According to her wish, the woman wants to give birth to the baby at her parents’ house or in a Bandung hospital and is currently almost nine months and ten days pregnant.

Now, Dean is having weekly meetings with advisors and company executives. He looked dignified in a dark blue tuxedo, sitting next to Vania while listening to employees who were presenting.

Vania, who was also sitting beside David, felt a deep queasy feeling in her stomach due to the smell of David’s perfume which was too strong.

‘Ugh, why does David’s perfume smells so strong. I want to throw up, but if I suddenly get out of here, surely everyone will be angry with me because I’m not focusing on the presentation,’ Vania thought while covering her mouth. The girl tried to hold it in until her body began to sweat coldly, the dizziness started to hit and she finally fell leaning her head on the table.

“Vania!”

David immediately panicked trying to wake up Fania as well as Dean and the other employees who failed to focus on the presentation.

David uses his right hand as a support for Vania’s head. He tried to wake the secretary by lightly patting her cheek. “Vania, Wake up… Vania!”

“You’d better take it to my room,” Dean exclaimed because in his room there is a sofa that can be used to lie down comfortably.

David immediately carried Vania who was still unconscious to Dean’s room, while Dean tried to contact a regular doctor who has a clinic not far from his office, to check on his secretary.

“Doctor, Dante. Please come to my company right away. My secretary suddenly fainted,” Dean called out.

“Okay, I’ll be there in 15 minutes,” said Dr. Dante over the phone.

“Okay, then I’ll turn off the phone.”

“Yes sir.”

Dean hung up the phone then returned to lead the chaotic meeting. He looked at the employees who were no longer focused and talked about Vania.

“The meeting is adjourned, and we will continue after lunch,” he said flatly.

The employees agreed with Dean’s decision. They immediately left the room to their respective rooms while Dean went straight to his room to see Vania’s condition.

In Dean’s room, Vania lay limp on the sofa accompanied by David and one of the employees named Icha who tried to resuscitate Vania by giving wind oil to her nose and stomach area.

“How is the condition?” asked the newly arrived Dean.

“Still not conscious, sir. Her body is in a cold sweat…” Icha replied while fanning Vania using an empty folder.

“But the pulse is normal, right?” asked Dean. He was worried that his secretary would have a heart attack.

Icha holds Vania’s right wrist, pressing the pulse area as if feeling her pulse. “I think this is normal, sir. She seems to be just not feeling well or eating late.”

“That’s good then. We’ll wait for the doctor to come,” Dean exclaimed then walked to his desk. He sat in his large chair, waiting for the doctor who had yet to arrive.

His smartphone rings. Dean immediately reached into his pants pocket to take out the smartphone and saw an incoming call from Bryana.

“Hello, honey,” said Dean.

“We have to go to Bandung now. Monica is about to give birth. Raymond has just given the news about this,” said Bryana from the phone, sounding uneasy.

“You wait a minute. I’ll be home in a minute,” Dean called out.

“Okay, I’m waiting.”

The phone line was cut off. Dean looked back at Vania who was still unconscious until a few minutes later a male doctor around 30 years old with a typical Asian face entered his room.

“Dr. Dante …” Dean said as he got up from the chair. He approached the doctor who was wearing a white medical suit. “Please check on my secretary. She suddenly fainted,” he cried.

Dr. Dante immediately examined Vania while the others waited and watched her until she finally wake up.

“How do you feel right now?” asked Dr. Dante.

Vania held her head. “Dizziness and nausea.”

“Are you having menstrual cramps?” asked Dr. Dante again.

Vania just nodded and bent her face. She seemed embarrassed at being noticed by doctors, co-workers, and also her boss.

“You’d better get out first,” said Dr. Dante noticed that Vania looked embarrassed.

Dean let out a shaky breath. annoyed at being kicked out of his room. He also invited Icha and David to get out immediately while Vania continued to consult a doctor.

“Actually, what you are experiencing and from your physical characteristics is a sign of pregnancy. Moreover, you also experience late menstruation. You should go to the hospital for a more detailed examination,” said Dr. Dante when he was alone with Vania.

“So, there’s a possibility I’m pregnant at this point?” Vania confirmed.

“Yes. What’s the matter? Doesn’t your husband want to have children yet?” asked Dr. Dante.

“Em, I’m just not ready yet,” answered Vania with an awkward smile. She turned his face away and felt so shocked by this situation. ‘If I’m pregnant, this means Carlos’ child, because he was the last time I made love,’ she thought.

“You’d better come with me to my clinic right now. To confirm you’re a true state,” said Dr. Dante.

“Yes, Doc,” said Vania.

Dr. Dante immediately prepared to return to the room, followed by Vania who was still a bit weak and pale. Arriving outside, they were greeted by David and Icha who were curious about the situation while Dean returned home because he had to go to Bandung soon.

“Icha, I have to come with Dr. Dante to his clinic,” said Vania with an uncomfortable look.

“I will come to accompany you,” said Icha.

“Um, no need. I’m fine.” Vania immediately refused.

“Vania, let Icha come with you. This is according to Mr. Dean’s orders,” said David with a flat look.

Due to constant pressure, Vania finally allows Icha to come with her while David stays in the office to control the meeting this afternoon. She along with Dante’s doctor and her friend immediately left this magnificent company. Feeling anxious she continued walking towards the exit of the building.

‘What if I do get pregnant, will Carlos be responsible? He’s already married to Elsa after dumping me, surely he won’t be responsible.. But I also can’t afford to raise this child alone, because after this I will be fired for being pregnant out of wedlock,’ she thought in confusion.
