Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 22: Pulling the Bull

Chapter 22: Pulling the Bull

Crash!

Flying was always everyone’s dream. Once their cultivation was high enough, they would be able to get the ability to fight. But of course, they could use another method to fly in the sky like what Lin Xiao did.

As for the after effect… that would not be something one could easily bypass.

‘I’m alive.’

Landing on top of the lush tree, Lin Xiao was glad that he was still alive. Even though he ended up falling to the ground afterwards, the bushes also helped to withstand his fall. There were numerous scratches from the branches on his arms and legs, but he didn’t care for it all.

Glancing to the back, Lin Xiao nearly cursed when he saw the bull was still rushing over to his direction. It seemed that the bull had taken an interest to the human who managed to fly.

“Why do you come here, you crazy bull?”

Swish!

Standing up, Lin Xiao rushed over to run once again. His hand was still holding onto his bow. It was then he thought to himself about whether it would be a good idea to try shooting the bull with the arrow?

‘But what if it’s getting even angrier?’

But the bull was getting closer and closer. Lin Xiao had no confidence that he would be able to pull the same stunt as before because he didn’t have any other root that could serve as rope.

As for climbing tree to evade that bull…

Moo!

There were already so many trees destroyed by sheer force from the bull. Unless he wanted to get himself killed, he better not climbed the tree and settled up there.

‘What should I do?’

The bull was getting closer.

‘Screw it, I’ll just try my luck.’

Taking an arrow from the tube he was carrying, Lin Xiao aimed towards the bull and released the arrow. When he was little, he had been practicing how to use bow with his foster father along with his brother. The two of them were not powerful enough to protect themselves, so they needed to learn how to use weapon.

Since Lin Yun was fairly weak, his parents decided that a bow would be a good weapon. Lin Xiao also learned how to use one since it could be useful. Thanks to that, the two of them could use bow when it was necessary.

Dzing!

The bow headed straight to the bull’s head and couldn’t pierce its hard skin. However, the sharp tip of the arrow grazed the surface, creating a line of wound on the bull’s face.

The bull looked at its face.

MMOOOOOOO!

(how dare this human scratches my handsome face!)

If only the bull could speak, Lin Xiao had the inkling that it was what the bull would surely say. However, he had no time to care because he had to keep on running. The angry bull kept on voicing its cute voice as it rushed over to tramp on Lin Xiao while destroying the trees on the way.

No other animals could be seen on the path.

Lin Xiao prepared another arrow while running as fast as possible. When the path before him was clear, Lin Xiao turned his upper body around and released the arrow once more.

Dzing!

The bull evaded the arrow, but it hit the side of the bull’s body. The sharp stone created another line of wound as blood seeped out. But such a little wound would not be enough for Lin Xiao to kill this annoying bull.

MOOOOO!

(Damn you, you want to try hurting my handsome face again? I won’t let you!)

Lin Xiao continued to run faster and faster. The sound of water entered his ear as he got nearer the village. His eyes lit up as he recalled the small river where he usually took water for his brother and himself.

Eh wait, if he brought the bull to the village, what would the villagers said to him?

Inside his mind, Lin Xiao calculated which one was more important: his life, or the villagers’ opinion on him.

It didn’t even take a split second for him to come to his decision.

Of course!

His life is more important.

Even if the villagers are angry, they wouldn’t be able to do anything to him if they didn’t know that he was the one attracting the bull.

With that in mind, Lin Xiao swiftly moved his legs to the other side, towards the path that was heading to the village and not where the cliff was. There was a small forest beside the tall mountain where he usually searched for herbs.

Mooo!

The rampaging bull was still chasing close on his back and Lin Xiao tried to speed up his speed.

By circling this area, he would also effectively pull the bull away from his home where his brother was staying. He wouldn’t want to have the bull went rampage there too because there were a lot of valuable herbs that he had been gathering for some time.

Dzing!

Lin Xiao tried to shoot the bull again, but this time it missed. The bull proudly voiced its voice again as if asking for praise.

‘Why is this bull look like a dog now?’

Mooo!

As the village came in sight, Lin Xiao noticed that there were several people who were going out of the village. From their outfit and also the weapons in their hands, Lin Xiao knew that they were part of the hunting squad.

Hunting squad, eh?

‘I have come to deliver a nice gift for you.’

Lin Xiao looked at the river by his side and decisively jumped inside.

SPLASH!
