Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 204: Examination Grounds (Chapter 3)

Chapter 204: Examination Grounds (3)

Bam!

“Not bad.” The woman smiled. Her hand was blocking Lin Xiao and assessed the power he was using. Internally, he was wondering where this little monster crept up. The power that he used was more than enough to push her back and forced her to defend with power comparable to Body Training Rank 10.

“Tsk.”

Seeing how the teacher captured his hand without much effort make Lin Xiao felt a bit annoyed. He felt that the teacher was cheating. It looked so easy for them to capture him that his attack seemed to be nothing more than a joke in their eyes.

“Ha ha ha, do you think that you can truly defeat me with this kind of power?” the teacher asked amusedly.

Lin Xiao shrugged. “There are so many teachers in the Examination Grounds?”

“Well, no. I’m not a teacher.” The ‘teacher’ replied helplessly. “I’m one of the seniors here who’s currently learning the runes.”

“Runes?” Lin Xiao asked curiously. It was then he recalled that the room was indeed filled with runes all over.

The woman smiled. “Some of us who are staying here are teachers but most of the times, it’s just seniors or alumni who came to learn. We’re allowed to learn but we have to serve as examiners when it was time for the students to take test. Of course, you can take test every single time but during this time of the year, all 10 doors are open for the students who have to take the examination.”

Lin Xiao nodded in understanding. It seemed that the teachers in the Sun Dragon Academy was making use of the resources they have by asking seniors to come here to replace their teachers. Well, it was not weird either since it meant that they didn’t have to pay them while they have to help the academy.

How cunning.

“Go to the next stage.”

“Yes.”

Lin Xiao headed to the third stage and then fought again. Without even using the skills specifically, his movement was already quick thanks to the steps he learned before. The senior in front of him was also astonished at the young man who nearly hit him just now.

“You’re not bad, Brat. You can go to the next stage.”

“Ah, I’ll pass.”

“Yes?”

“I don’t want to get beaten up by the seniors there.” Lin Xiao shrugged, giving excuse to not go up. He didn’t want to pass the fourth stage and aroused Teacher Su Luo’s suspicions.

The senior arches his eyebrows. While everyone knew that 1-3 for Body Training, 4-6 for Foundation Establishment, 7-9 for Golden Core Stage Rank 1, 10-15 for Golden Core Stage Rank 2, there was possibility of them passing even before they reached the designated stage. After all, some geniuses could fight those at higher stage than them.

“That’s too bad.” The senior nodded then raised his hand to use his Qi. “I’ll use the tower mechanism to bring you back to the first floor. When you come here again in the future, you can directly head to the fourth floor.”

“Yes?”

Lin Xiao was stunned but then he realized that he had already reached the first floor again and the door outside was right in front of him.

‘That’s…’

‘Runes. Of course, it’s not that senior who’s using is but he’s only activating the runes that are already inside the room. It seems that there are mechanism that the one who build this building had made before to allow those who didn’t want to challenge higher to go back directly.’

Lin Xiao nodded. He looked down and realized that there was a plate in his hand. It looked like a student plate with words written: Sun Dragon Academy, First Year Student.

“Well, I’m now officially student in Sun Dragon Academy.” Lin Xiao played with the token in his hand and smiled. He had been wondering in the very beginning why there was no token or something like that given to him when he became the students. It seemed that they would only give the token after some time had passed, which was after they had proven to be qualified to stay in Sun Dragon Academy.

How interesting.

‘The academy only wants to accept genius and it’s not without reason that they’re making such strict requirement.’

‘Well, if they only give some Spirit Stones, I don’t have much intention to stay too high in the ranking and attract their attention.’

‘….Don’t you know that you already attract attention?’

‘What? I’m still low key!’

‘Low key my ass!’ Lin Hu rolled his eyes at Lin Xiao’s words. If Lin Xiao was low key, how about those whose name couldn’t be remembered by most people in the academy then?

Lin Xiao was still quarreling with Lin Hu while he walked out. He glanced up and noticed that his current ranking was 287 and the last one at the ranking was 605. Not everyone had taken the test yet and there were still many Foundation Establishment students who hadn’t made their move.

“The written test is after this?” Lin Xiao asked the others, who had already come out faster than him. It seemed that talking to that senior took the time and made his ranking lower.

Lin Yun nodded. “Yep.”

Lin Xiao glanced up to the ranking and narrowed his eyes. Lin Xiao, Lin Yun, Wenren Yu, Han Jiang, Princess Lan Yi Hua had all passed the third stage. Sui Wenyan and Fan Ling were the only two in their group to pass the fourth stage and from the way Sui Wenyan looked like, she didn’t even try to challenge the fifth floor and directly headed back.

Lu Jian only passed the second stage while Xia Ye only passed the first stage.

All of them took the test that was simply comparable to their current rank and didn’t even bother to try the next level. After all, they wanted to keep low profile.

Hehe, low profile…

Many people were already paying attention to them, though.
