Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 147: The Auction (Chapter 3)

Chapter 147: The Auction (3)

Sui Wenyan furrowed her brows. “It’s not that rare. Besides, the opening items are only for the lower ranked people who couldn’t spend much. Do you really need this grass?”

“Yes.”

Lin Yun had been studying under Wenren Yu and understood that the composition of this Dragonfly Grass was leaning towards Yang side. It meant that this grass would be beneficial to him since he required a lot of Yang type medicine.

“In that case, we’ll bid it.”

Since they needed it, why should they hesitate? Even if the price was quite low and it was not that rare, there were only some stores that sell Dragonfly Grass. They should just buy it here.

“Anything else?”

“How about some manuals?” Lin Xiao asked as he pointed to some interesting fighting manuals in the list.

“You won’t be able to get it.”

“Why?”

Pursing her lips, Sui Wenyan’s gaze lingered on the VIP rooms at the second floor. Even though they couldn’t see anything from here, she knew that there were so many important people who had come for today’s auction. Would those people let them get the interesting manuals?

She highly doubted it.

Wenren Yu noticed Sui Wenyan’s line of sight and immediately understood what she was thinking. He could only sigh. Even if they have enough money, they didn’t have enough power to protect the treasure. What they could get would only be the lower ranked treasure.

Lin Xiao finally nodded. Even though he was a bit disappointed with the fact that he wouldn’t be able to get anything important from this auction, he still could get the least important one.

Dong!

The sound of the door closing was faint, but some people turned their head to the back to see it. The auction was going to start.

As the room’s lighting turned dimmer, Lin Xiao focused his attention to the stage at the front. He had to admit that he was impressed with the technology or probably some other method that they employed in this auction house. Truly worthy to be one of the best auction house in Feng Yi City.

A beautiful woman appeared on the stage. She had fine figure and the aura she exudes wouldn’t lose in the slightest bit with many other Foundation Establishment Cultivators. With a smile, the woman opened the auction.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the monthly auction of Yue Yi Auction House. This time, there are a lot of precious treasures that we will present to you. Of course, the same rules still apply where only the one with the highest bidder will bring the items’ home.”

The woman winked her eyes, creating attractive sight. Many men already suck up their breath, trying to ignore the temptation before their eyes. If not for the fact that they were inside an auction house, many might have already behaved improperly.

“Foundation Establishment Cultivator?” Lin Xiao asked in low tone. While the others were attracted by the woman’s face, he was more concerned with her cultivation. The woman made no attempt to hide her own cultivation’s stage, but it was certainly her stage that made people wary.

Foundation Establishment was harder to contend compared to Body Training Stage. Many people who had reached that stage meant that they were already powerful enough and ready to advance to the next stage. Besides, the qualitative difference between cultivator at Body Training Stage and Foundation Establishment Stage could be very big.

Just like how each Body Training Stage represented different power, the difference between Body Training Stage and Foundation Establishment was just like a carp and a dragon.

Very different.

If not for the qualitative difference, there was no way Lin Xiao would be at Sui Wenyan’s complete mercy during their previous fight.

“Yes, she’s already at Foundation Establishment Stage,” Sui Wenyan said with pursed lips.

Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. “You don’t sound too happy.”

“I’ll explain later. Focus on the auction for now.”

“We’ll start the auction now. The first item to come forward is a Jade Brush. This brush is a weapon that’s very useful for scholar. Unfortunately, the use is limited to Body Training Stage. The starting price is 10 gold,” the woman introduced the item with a smile on her lips.

Wenren Yu felt his mind blanked for a moment before he shook his head and looked at Sui Wenyan. “Did she use some kind of charm? I feel like there’s an attraction around her.”

Sui Wenyan scoffed. “It’s normal. If you can arouse the Qi in the world and try to make it so that it would work to create illusion, you’ll be able to do the same with her. Also, don’t try to fight her.”

“Why?”

“You’ll die before you know what happens.”

Hearing that, the three of them were shocked. They knew that Foundation Establishment Cultivators were powerful, but they didn’t know it was even more so.

Lin Xiao clenched his fist as his eyes burn with desire. He wanted to get even stronger. If Foundation Establishment was already this strong? How about those at higher stage? He couldn’t wait for him to be able to place himself among them.

“11 Gold!”

“12 Gold!”

“15 Gold!”

Looking at some people who started bidding, Lin Xiao calmed himself and paid more attention to the stage. It wouldn’t take long for the woman to introduce Dragonfly Grass that he wanted. At that time, it was time for them to start bidding.

The first few items would be priced below 100 golds, which was only the starting items for the auction. After all, it was hard to find so many treasures since the auction was held once a month.

“It’s here,” Lin Yun murmured.

“Next is Dragonfly Grass. The starting price is 100 gold coins. You already know this grass is a very useful herb for alchemist. There are many medicine out there that need this herb.” The woman winked again.

Once more, Wenren Yu felt shivers and shook his head. He felt that the woman was bad news.

“101 gold!”
