Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 128: Eagle Power Group

Chapter 128: Eagle Power Group

“What did you find?” Lin Xiao asked as soon as they entered the forest.

Wenren Yu glanced back then sighed. He patted Lin Xiao’s shoulder. “You might not believe this, but I think that Bo Wu might be inside a group and acted on behalf of the group.”

“Our target is just one, right?”

Recalling the detail of the missions back then, Lin Xiao was sure that their target was only Bo Wu. He was charged for killing some travelers and also some people in the village. If he was part of Eagle Power Group, it meant that they might need to work much harder to find him and make sure that the group didn’t mess up with their work.

Wenren Yu nodded. “Bo Wu is the leader.”

“…it means we need to infiltrate the group?”

“Yes.”

“But if he’s the leader, why is the task only say to kill Bo Wu and didn’t say anything else about other people in the group?”

“Eagle Power Group is just a small group of youngsters who are quite powerful. They’re all fairly young, at 20 to 30 years old. However, the real purpose of the group is also to rob rich people who come to the village,” Wenren Yu explained.

Lin Xiao’s mind blanked. He looked at Wenren Yu in suspicion. “What did you hear back then?”

Even he didn’t get such complete information.

Wenren Yu smiled bitterly. There was one person in the group inside the bar that was tricked and then extorted just now. That person complained vehemently to his friends, allowing Wenren Yu to get more complete information from them even though he was only listening in.

After explaining a bit more, Lin Xiao came to realize that the Eagle Power Group was nothing more than a small group. They were trying to expand to get more riches so that they could cultivate better, but their power was limited.

In addition, it was hard for them to get even more followers because those of Foundation Establishment couldn’t resort to such things easily. Unless they targeted the powerful descendant from some clans, they were destined to not be able to earn enough for their cultivation resources.

“Do they have any backing?” Lin Xiao asked.

“Are you worried?”

“No. But if it’s possible, I don’t want to attract unnecessary enemies.”

Thinking about the woman who had died before already made Lin Xiao felt headache. Even though he knew that it was not his fault, he knew that there were also many people who would not listen to reason and tried to blame him for their own incompetence.

At that time, he might have to fight against whoever the woman work for.

“There shouldn’t be any. If they really have backing, they wouldn’t stay in this small village for a long period of time,” Wenren Yu replied.

“Good then.”

They were just about to continue talking when they saw that there were several people from a distance away. The three of them tacitly hid inside the woods without saying anything to each other.

The sound of people laughter entered their ears.

“We got good haul this time.”

“Yes! To think that we can encounter the group when they’re hunting this Beast rank 3. In normal condition, we won’t be able to defeat it no matter what we do!”

“So lucky!”

Lin Xiao noticed that the four people have plain clothes. They also looked quite haggard as if they have just finished a battle with someone who was quite powerful. Traces of blood remained in some parts of their clothes.

Looking at how relaxed these people were, Lin Xiao could guess that they felt save in their village. In the village, there might be some people who were already Foundation Establishment, but those powerful figure would not do anything to them. Thanks to that, they would be able to roam freely.

‘That man…’

The man at the center was, without a doubt, Bo Wu. Lin Xiao had seen his picture in the Mercenary Association because the association provided them with enough information. As for why there were still no one who killed this man until now, Lin Xiao had no idea at all.

It can be either Bo Wu was powerful enough to thwart his enemies.

Or it could be because the mission was only issued recently because Bo Wu expanded his tasks.

The four people soon disappeared into the village. Lin Xiao looked at his brother and Wenren Yu. “So, shall we start to make a move?”

“Not in the village.” Wenren Yu frowned.

“Why not?”

Wenren Yu looked at Lin Xiao like he was looking at an idiot. “Do you think that those Foundation Establishment Cultivators will stay silent if we wreck their base?”

Lin Xiao opened his mouth then closed it again like a fish. He only recalled that the Foundation Establishment Cultivators in the village didn’t like to meddle in other people’s business. However, it would still irk them if someone tried to beat other people in their own turf.

“So, we wait?”

“Yes. They shouldn’t be staying in the village for a long period of time. When they got out. Let’s try to find which one is the leader then we can have a short talk with him.”

Short talk?

Wenren Yu’s lips twitched because he knew that they wouldn’t be talking with their mouth. Instead, they would be talking with their fist.

Behind them, Lin Yun also nodded in agreement. It seemed to be the best choice of course on their current situation.

“Let’s go inside and find an inn to stay for the night. Wait, we have some silver coins, right?”

“There should be some.”

“Good then.”
