Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 111: Watching

Chapter 111: Watching

“Thank you very much,” Lin Xiao said sincerely. He would never imagine that just by talking with someone who was already more familiar with the outside world, he would be able to gain much more.

“It’s not a big deal.” Sui Wenyan waved her hand with a grin on her face. She was living well for the past two years, but she was also being very careful. A mention of her background might put her in tight spot because there were still people who were keen on eliminating those from Taiyi Sect.

The reason was still unclear to her, but she could guess that her sect had somehow created enemies. After all, she was only Outer Disciple back then, which meant that the information she could get was extremely limited.

“Can everyone become mercenary?” Lin Xiao asked curiously.

Sui Wenyan nodded. “The selection is not that difficult. As long as you can show that you have some strength, it’s easy to pass the entrance test. Besides, there are countless people signing up as mercenary every single day.”

Hearing his senior disciple telling him this all, Wenren Yu felt a bit ashamed. He always relied on the herbs if he wanted to do anything. In fact, the only money making method he knew would be to sell herbs and medicine.

Medicine….

“There’s Alchemist Association in Feng Yi City, right?” Wenren Yu asked.

Sui Wenyan nodded. “Yes. I never went there before, but if you follow the map, I’m sure that you can find it.”

“Why do you want to go to Alchemist Association?”

“I want to sign up as an alchemist.”

Lin Xiao furrowed his brows. Signing up was not a problem, but if he was not wrong, Wenren Yu’s name couldn’t be used freely because it was registered as outer disciple in Taiyi Sect.

“Are you sure you’re not leaving your tail behind if you do this?”

“It’ll be dangerous,” Lin Yun chirped in.

Wenren Yu shrugged. “I can’t really do anything aside from making medicine and gather herbs. Rather than abandoning my capabilities, it’ll be better to register as an Alchemist using fake name and enjoy the benefit from the association.”

“…that’s complicated.”

“There’s no other method. Alchemist can get some benefit including some free herbs and discount. With more resources, I’ll be able to help you in your path,” Wenren Yu explained. He had thought it through. He wanted to be more useful to Lin Xiao and helped to pave way for this brat to become the Emperor.

While Lin Xiao’s attitude might be still a bit problematic, Wenren Yu knew that the other princes might not even be any better. At the very least, Lin Xiao was someone who would do what he said he would.

“Alright.”

Sui Wenyan listened and furrowed her brows. She seemed to be thinking of something. “Our Street Performance Group will have a performance in front of Du Family mansion today. If you wish to see, you can sneak in the crowd.”

Wenren Yu immediately turned his head. “You’re going to dance?”

“I’m going to play music,” Sui Wenyan elaborated. She had learned several musical instrument and her role in her group was to play music for the others when they performed.

“With beautiful costume?”

“Of course….”

Sensing that something was wrong, Sui Wenyan narrowed her eyes and looked at Wenren Yu. There was faint glint in her eyes. However, that gesture of hers didn’t diminish her charm in the slightest bit. “Wenren Yu, are you trying to pinpoint on something?”

“Eh?” Wenren Yu was stunned. “Senior Sui is beautiful regardless of what you wear….”

“Oh, is that so?”

Bang!

When the punch was thrown, Wenren Yu had no other choice but to back out. His eyes widened slightly because he could tell that the power behind Sui Wenyan’s punch was that of Foundation Establishment.

“Wait, I didn’t mean to look at you like that! Senior!!!”

“Shut up! You twerp!”

Lin Xiao and Lin Yun pretended that they didn’t see anything. If these two wished to quarrel, they would rather stay behind and not intervene. Lin Yun looked at his brother and grinned.

“Brother, it seems that Miss Sui is the crush that Wenren Yu talked about before.”

“What crush?” Lin Xiao asked in confusion.

“Wenren Yu once said that he had a crush when he was in Taiyi Sect. To think that it’ll be a fairy like woman,” Lin Yun replied with a sigh. With Sui Wenyan’s face, even he felt that she was really beautiful. It wouldn’t be a joke to say that Sui Wenyan had countless admirers when she was in Taiyi Sect.

Not to mention, she was also quite talented and powerful. Her age didn’t differ that much from them, but she was already at Foundation Establishment.

Lin Xiao blinked his eyes, feeling speechless. It seemed that he was the only one who had never met any woman who could catch his eyes. This couldn’t do. Even his younger brother had already had a crush when he was younger.

Internally, Lin Xiao secretly set a goal for himself to find a woman for himself. One that suited him the best.

However, his current goal wouldn’t change. He wanted to learn more so that he would be able to become a proper emperor and didn’t die because of this annoying inheritance that he got by chance.

Bang!

By now, Wenren Yu was unable to do anything. He was one rank below Sui Wenyan and with the two of them trying their best to stay quiet in this alley, the fight turned into Sui Wenyan’s favor.

“I give up! I give up!”

“Hmph. If you dare to say anything like that again, I wouldn’t hesitate to kill you.” Sui Wenyan cracked her fist.

Wenren Yu resisted the urge to cry. He was already being very covert. How come she still managed to figure it out. Ah, he better stayed quiet from now. That way, he wouldn’t get into unnecessary trouble like this.
