Rise of the Great Emperor Chapter 100: Half a Year (Chapter 2)

Chapter 100: Half a Year (2)

Half a year passed swiftly.

Bang!

The sound of a beast falling to the ground was considered common in this vast forest. There was always some fighting that occurred from time to time, be it between beast to beast or human against beasts.

“Brother!” Lin Yun waved his hand, greeting his brother who was not far away from him.

Lin Xiao grabbed the large boar he had hunted. There was only one wound on the boar, which was the sword attack right toward its neck. After half a year, Lin Xiao was already getting proficient with Mountain Sword.

Mountain Punch and Mountain Sword shared the same principle, which was to be as steady as mountain yet as powerful as large mountain. Because the two similarities, it was not that hard for Lin Xiao to learn the skill and after half a year, he was already proficient in the two skills.

In addition, the three of them had already advanced in ranks again.

Lin Xiao reached Body Training Rank 9 while Wenren Yu and Lin Yun reached Body Training Rank 10. The cause was simply because Lin Xiao needed much more Qi to sustain both him and the dragon, which caused him to be lagging behind.

“Elder Wang, when are you going to teach me other skills?” Lin Xiao asked as he put the beast down. Lin Yun took the beast and skillfully skinned it. They would always eat the beasts they hunted no matter how much it was. Thanks to that, the three of them were no longer skinny but still quite slender.

Wang Jun looked at the three youngsters from above the tree. He shook his head. “It’s already enough. You need to learn other skills aside from fighting.”

“Yes?”

“An Emperor did not only have to good at fighting and powerful, but you also have to be able to lead other people through many other matters,” Elder Wang said unhurriedly. He looked at Lin Xiao. “I already taught you the basic of beasts characteristic while you’re naturally good at finding herbs and identifying them, so now it’s time for you to learn about human’s interaction.”

Hearing that, Lin Xiao’s face turned a bit awkward. If he had to say, he was someone who didn’t pay much attention about human’s interaction in the past because his hobby was to make people annoyed at him and create countless troubles.

Wang Jun sighed. “Go into Yi Feng City. If you’re asked for identification letter, you can say that you come from remote village. With your clothing, you won’t look that suspicious.”

Lin Yun had his own identification letter while Wenren Yu and Lin Xiao didn’t have one. Wenren Yu couldn’t use his own because he was someone from Taiyi Sect. There were too many people chasing after Taiyi Sect, so if he showed it, he would be hunted by so many people at once.

As for Lin Xiao… he was an orphan adopted by Lin Yun’s parents. Naturally, he didn’t have identification letter because the village refused to accept him as one of them. If he wanted to have one, he would have to make one.

“We wouldn’t be attacked?” Lin Xiao asked worriedly.

Wang Jun sighed and shook his head. “No. As long as you don’t attack someone else at the gate, no one will create trouble for you. Just control your temper if someone mock you because you’re not allowed to retaliate.”

“Got it.”

For some reason, Wang Jun felt Lin Xiao’s tone was amyss. However, he chose not to pay much attention and waved his hand. “Go.”

“You’re not going to follow us, Elder Wang?”

“No. There are too many people who know me. If they see me enter Yi Feng City, they’ll surely try to catch me. You stay in the city until New Year then head over to Long Yin Forest.”

“Long Yin Forest?” Lin Xiao was startled. He didn’t recall this name in any of the map that showed the area near Yi Feng City.

“There’s teleportation device in the city, but it’s expensive. You have to learn how to earn money on your own and everything,” Wang Jun patiently explained. In truth, this was only the basic test that many other people would have to experience, especially those who were the heir of large family.

These heirs couldn’t be weak and useless, so they would be sent to various tests. Some only prioritized power and the test would be to directly threw the heir into the forest. Some prioritized business and would ask the heir to start a business directly in a city completely unrelated to them.

Elder Wang hoped that Lin Xiao could be able to do everything even if he was not proficient in it. At the very least, he would have to do how to do business with other people while protecting his own self and identity.

“We’re going to meet again in Long Yin Forest?” Lin Xiao asked.

Wang Jun nodded. “Yes.”

“Okay. We’re going now.”

“Go.”

By this time, Lin Yun had finished cooking and wrapped their meal into their Spatial Ring. His Spatial Ring was larger than his brother, so naturally he was also the one who usually store their food.

“Eat first.”

“Ok.”

Lin Xiao took a large chunk of meat and wolfed them all down as fast as possible. Wenren Yu and Lin Yun also ate as much as possible before they departed into Yi Feng City that was only located a few kilometers away from their current location.

“I wonder what’s the procedure for an orphan was,” Lin Xiao said.

Lin Yun looked at his brother and furrowed his brows. “You’re already an adult by now, Brother. Do you think they’ll still treat you as if you’re a lost child?”

Lin Xiao: “…”

“We’ll just tell them that we lost ours. They might believe it or maybe not,” Wenren Yu said helplessly.

“Fine.”

From a distance away, Wang Jun watched as the three of them disappeared into a distance. Honestly, he was still unsettled about sending them into the city when they were still that weak, but time was ticking.

The princes were already preparing to make their moves while the current Emperor was getting weaker.

Sooner or later, the brutal war of succession would surely start. Whoever strong would be the one standing at the top.
