Jin Ying shook her head and said with a smile, “It’s nothing! However, your fishing village is really remote!”

As Jin Ying spoke, she looked around at the surrounding scenery.

In terms of scenery, apart from some houses with unique architectural styles, this place could really be called simple.

Everything around them was a gift from nature. Of course, it also included the slight destruction of nature’s living environment.

For example, the air was filled with the smell of the sea.

Jin Ying frowned, seemingly not used to this smell.

Lin Yun saw Jin Ying’s reaction and was about to ask if she was feeling unwell when she saw Jin Ying say apologetically, “I’m sorry! My family used to live in a mountain village. I can’t stand the smell of things in the sea for a while.”

Lin Yun smiled and shook her head. “That’s normal. Do you like seafood?”

“Of course!” Jin Ying’s eyes immediately widened with anticipation. “My family was poor when I was young and didn’t eat much seafood. Ever since I came to Sea City, this has been my favorite!”

“However, the smell of the seaside is still…” Jin Ying smiled bitterly.

Lin Yun smiled and said, “Let’s go! I’ll bring you somewhere to eat something delicious!”

Lin Yun and Jin Ying had been together for so long, and Jin Ying had even helped her a few times. She treated Jin Ying as her best friend.

When Lin Yun brought Jin Ying into the Lin family’s restaurant, the latter stood at the door and looked at everything in front of her. She could not help but praise in surprise, “This fishing village actually has such a good place!”

After Jin Ying finished speaking, she seemed to realize that she had been impolite with her words and immediately looked at Lin Yun apologetically.

Lin Yun smiled and pulled Jin Ying inside. “Let’s go! Let my father make you something delicious!”

Jin Ying blinked and asked in disbelief, “Is your father a chef here?”

To Jin Ying, all the knowledge about Lin Yun’s biological family came from Lin Yu’s sob stories.

Lin Yu had been describing the Lin family who lived in the fishing village as poor and leading a difficult life.

To Jin Ying, Lin Yun’s father was at most a waiter in this restaurant. Guessing out loud that he was a chef was a subconscious effort on her part to elevate her friend’s status.

Lin Yun smiled and did not answer. She only pulled Jin Ying towards the kitchen.

The two of them had just reached the kitchen door when they saw Pei Man walk out.

She was carrying a plate of freshly cooked geoducks to the back stairs.

Pei Man saw Lin Yun at a glance and walked over with a smile. “Xiao Yun, did you bring your friend back to play?”

Lin Yun nodded and looked at the plate in Pei Man’s hand. “Mom, do you need help?”

Pei Man smiled and said, “No need, no need! You guys find a place to walk around first. I’ll come over later!”

Lin Yun nodded and continued to walk toward the kitchen.

Jin Ying was puzzled, but she did not ask.

Perhaps Lin Yun’s mother was also working here to maintain the family’s livelihood.

No wonder Lin Yu kept saying that the Lin family’s life on the fishing boat was tough. Lin Yun’s parents must have aged all these years and could not adapt to life on the fishing boat. Hence, they came to this restaurant to work.

Jin Ying couldn’t help but pity Lin Yun. However, she knew that she couldn’t be too obvious, or she would hurt Lin Yun’s heart.

Lin Yun did not notice Jin Ying’s reaction and pulled her to the kitchen.

Seeing that the two of them had already arrived at the kitchen door, Jin Ying immediately grabbed Lin Yun. “You can’t enter this place! Your father will be scolded by the boss!”

Hearing Jin Ying’s words, Lin Yun was stunned for a moment before she smiled and said, “I’ll bring you to a place with no guests to avoid disturbing the guests’ meal!”
