They needed something to protect them from the rain and the wind. Otherwise, an abrupt rainstorm or an especially chilly night would leave them both ill.

It wasn’t just about becoming each other’s burden. They were also afraid they would both die on this island.

Bai Qinghao attached the roof firmly onto the pillars with rattan. He then pressed his palms against the structure to ensure that it was stable before finally relaxing.

Fang Xinxin dug the first aid kit out and brought it over. She tore out one of her sleeves to use as a towel.

She opened the first aid kit to reveal the water he had collected today. They had drunk some of it earlier and around four hundred millimeters was still remaining.

She carefully poured some out to dampen the ‘towel’. She first wiped his wounds clean carefully before wiping his face.

She dampened the towel repeatedly and wiped all the stains off his skin.

A damp towel couldn’t remove all the dirt. However, it would at least relieve some of his discomfort.

Furthermore…

He had mysophobia.

Thankfully, he was only insistent about when they were at home, now that they were trapped outside…

It was enough that they survived.

It was already 3:00 in the afternoon.

She retrieved some of the wound dressing medicine they had saved and applied it onto his cuts.

She then brought the pile of grass roots she had collected over. They sat down and opened up the bundle of crabs she had caught.

The eleven sea crabs were still alive.

“It’s time for lunch. Quickly eat.” She urged him in heartache and skillfully picked up a sea crab and handed it to him.

Bai Qinghao copied her actions. He carefully avoided the pincers and broke off a claw before offering it to her.

She received it happily and began to suck on the flesh. Although it was a little fishy, the taste was extremely sweet. “It’s delicious!”

This was much better than the raw fish and raw seagull meat!

The crabs were nearly 1.5 kilograms in weight in total. They were also very fresh. After sharing the crabs, both of them were quite full.

As they were very thirsty, they shared the grass roots and drank some of the water from the first aid kit.

Just like that, they had a ‘delicious’ meal.

Fang Xinxin glanced at the first aid kit. They only had around fifty millimeters of water left.

It was really too little.

She had wanted to save up more water. However, the sun was bright and they were really thirsty. Considering that the temperature would be cooler in the evening, they decided that it would be better to drink less at night.

Their hunger was satiated while their thirst was barely quenched.

They rested in the shed for around an hour. As the sunlight grew weaker, Fang Xinxin stood up to look for dinner.

“My wife, you should rest. I can go.” Bai Qinghao picked up his shirt and headed for the area where she had found the crabs earlier.

Fang Xinxin did not stop him as his wounds had mostly healed.

He had embraced her for a long time last night and even built a shed this morning. It was clear that he had recovered significantly and was doing pretty well.

She did not sit idly. Instead, she brought the pile of bamboo she had found earlier and used the surgical knife to cut them into thin slices.

Bai Qinghao’s shirt was already very worn down. If they used it anymore, soon, he wouldn’t be able to wear it again.

They really needed a basket.

Although she worried that the knife would turn blunt, she could not slice the bamboo any other way. Thus, she could only rely on this knife.

She paid attention not to cut herself and over the time, her movements became smoother.

The ground was soon covered in a pile of bamboo strips of varying sizes.

Fang Xinxin had previously watched a video about making slippers with bamboo strips. As of now, both their phones were likely at the bottom of the ocean..
