Rebirth: Pampered Wife’s Counterattack Chapter 629 – Past Matters

Chapter 629: Past Matters

“What rumours could there be?” Bai Chongshan was unbothered. “Qinghao and Xinxin have been living together in the Yu Ting Villa for ages. I haven’t seen anyone getting upset about this. Zhishu, don’t interfere in their young people’s business in the future.”

“I understand.” Huang Zhishu was reprimanded by her father-in-law and she felt unhappy internally.

Bai Jingrou smiled gently. “Cousin, you’ve lived in the Yu Ting Villa for over a year with Miss Fang yet there hasn’t been any good news. Both of you have to work hard. Grandfather is still waiting for his great-grandson.”

Although these words sounded like an innocent expression of well wishes, Fang Xinxin could hear the words between the lines.

What Bai Jingrou meant to say was that, despite cohabitating with Bai Qinghao for more than a year, Fang Xinxin actually did not manage to conceive!

Bai Qinghao’s body was as strong as a bull. Naturally, no one would think that there was anything amiss with him. They would only blame Fang Xinxin for failing to conceive.

As expected, Bai Chongshan’s greying brows furrowed. “Xinxin, you really have to put more effort into this matter.”

“Grandfather, we previously didn’t wish for a child because I didn’t want Xinxin to conceive out of wedlock,” Bai Qinghao responded sternly.

Everyone understood that the two of them had been using contraceptives previously. Thus, it was only natural that Xinxin did not conceive..

“As long as you both are healthy.” Bai Chongshan responded seriously. “Don’t use contraceptives in the future. Otherwise, how long would it take for my great-grandson to appear?”

“We’ll take things naturally.” Bai Qinghao appeared unmoved.

However, he could not help but feel a hint of worry internally.

He had said those words earlier to stop Grandfather from worrying. In truth, they had not used any contraceptives in the past one year.

Could it be that Xinxin could not conceive? Or, was it a problem with him?

He decided to make time to undergo a health check-up soon.

Fang Xinxin, however, was not at all worried about this matter. This was because in her previous life, she had once been pregnant.

Unfortunately, early on in the pregnancy, she lost her child due to a bowl of abortion medicine.

At the time, she had detested Bai Qinghao and had wished for his death. Thus, she constantly declared she wanted an abortion.

However, at the end of the day, she could not bear to do so. After all, the child was also hers.

Bai Qinghao had locked her in the old Bai family’s mansion and prevented her from leaving the place fearing that she would visit the hospital for an abortion.

One day, while strolling through the yard, she felt tired. Thus, she asked the helper to move a table and chair onto the grass patch. She also asked them to prepare a medicinal soup that was good for the child and some desserts.

She had rested for a while before reaching for the medicinal soup. However, the moment she brought the soup to her lips, she noticed that it had a strange scent.

She immediately decided not to drink it.

However, her mind suddenly turned dazed and she felt as though she had lost control of her own limbs. She then lifted the bowl from the table and drank it all.

In their previous life, Bai Qinghao had coincidentally seen her placing the bowl down. He then rushed forward to ask urgently about what she had drunk.

Her consciousness finally then returned to her. However, she immediately felt an intense wave of pain in her stomach and it left her unable to speak.

Afterwards, it was revealed that it was a bowl of abortion medicine. Her child was lost just like that.

At the time, all the Bai family’s elders, as well as Bai Qinghao, believed that she had intentionally taken the medicine to abort the child.

The Bai family’s elders were upset to the point where they demanded Bai Qinghao to divorce her.

Bai Qinghao also grew to hate her deeply.

“Fang Xinxin, how could you be cruel to the point of killing your own child? If you have the ability, you should come after me and take my life! Why did you harm an unborn child!” Bai Qinghao had demanded in rage.

Despite the time that had passed, his words remained deeply engraved in her heart.

However, no matter how she explained it, he refused to believe that she had not done it willingly.
