Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress Chapter 235 – Paying Respects To Your Ancestors

Chapter 235: Paying Respects To Your Ancestors

Morning.

Inside Monster University. A figure was jogging casually along the pathway around the lake.

Most of the research students who were passing by wouldn’t have taken note of that figure.

Of those who noticed that figure, even fewer would have been shocked by the sight.

The jogging movement looked normal on the surface, but the rare person would realize that every step had a rich rhythm to it.

Principal Dien turned his eyes away and glanced at the black coat and book placed on the bench nearby. He then looked at the elder beside him. “Is Ye Bin not out yet?”

“That is why I have no choice but to beg you for help.” Old Master Ye gave a bitter laugh. “Our patriarch is still in seclusion. The Ye Family will probably lose half its power if our head continues in his ways.”

“There’s nothing I can do about it.” Principal Dien shook his head. His expression didn’t change. “You know how vicious that young punk of the Yu Family is. He even dares to suppress Song San. Moreover, have you forgotten about those black-clad men that night?”

“Principal Dien, I know you are somewhat close to Master Yu.” Old Master Ye cupped his fists in frustration. “Before our patriarch went into seclusion, he specially instructed me to seek you out if anything happens.”

Principal Dien didn’t answer immediately.

He just continued looking at that figure slowly jogging toward them.

Step by step. That person had run several rounds but there was no change to her breathing at all.

Her cell phone vibrated in her pocket, but Su Huiqing didn’t immediately take it out to look.

She just bent over and picked up her jacket and threw it across her shoulder. She zipped up the jacket before taking out the cell phone.

She saw the two of them.

The Ye Family elder immediately stopped talking.

Principal Dien continued to look thoughtfully at Su Huiqing. He suddenly narrowed his murky eyes. “Student Su.”

Three simple words spoken very sternly.

Su Huiqing paused and lifted her eyes. A light flashed across her dark eyes as she tilted her head with a slight smile. “…Principal?”

“I need to ask you something.” Principal Dien glanced at Old Master Ye. After another moment’s consideration, he finally spoke again in a grave tone. “I have a tricky issue. I wonder if you…”

Before he could complete his sentence, Su Huiqing finished zipping her jacket and stated indifferently. “Not interested.”

At this moment, Old Master Ye also knew what Principal Dien intended to do. He glanced at Su Huiqing again. He thought she must be the descendant of some major family, but she looked like just some commoner.

He thought about it and whispered to Principal Dien. “Principal Dien, this matter concerns the Yu Family. It’s no joke…”

“Keep quiet if you wish to resolve the Ye Family’s dilemma.” Principal Dien cut in, all the while keeping his eyes on Su Huiqing. “I have heard some news concerning the Dugu Family. If you are willing, I will accept your mother as my righteous daughter.”

Su Huiqing didn’t immediately give an answer.

She took her time to finish sending the message on her cell phone, before twirling the device in her hand.

She narrowed her eyes, clearly in deep thought.

Su Huiqing was never one to make things difficult for her own family members. She knew that she wouldn’t stay in the International Association forever, especially with her precarious situation. According to her sources, there were quite a number of people who wanted to see her dead.

If there came a day when everyone found out that she was the Queen of Mercenaries, the entire International Association would descend into chaos bloodshed.

Things would be even worse for Unknown Island.

It was very important to give Su Ruohua a way out.

Principal Dien… his character and capabilities were all familiar to Su Huiqing. After all, she had studied for several years at Monster University in the past.

At that, Su Huiqing kept her cell phone and tucked her hand into her pocket.

She glanced at Principal Dien. “Most of the herbs on that island are ordinary herbs. The Yu Family only has a few high-level potion makers. There’s no need for them to fight over this kind of herbs…”

“I know all these. You don’t need to explain…” Old Master Ye’s eyes darkened.

Su Huiqing turned toward him, a faint smile still on her lips. “Can you let me finish?”

Old Master Ye immediately kept silent.

Satisfied, Su Huiqing continued. “On the other hand, the Ye Family has several hundred potion makers. Although most of them are basic and mid-level ones, this is to your advantage. A major competition is about to happen. Apart from that foolish family head, public sentiment for the rest of the Ye Family is still favorable…”

Only this girl would have the guts to publicly call the Ye Family Head foolish.

Nevertheless, Old Master Ye could not find any reason to rebut her.

More importantly, he was truly astonished by this person before him. Old Master Ye had been part of the International Association for so many years and met countless high-level personnel. Even so, very few of them were able to give him such a feeling. He felt like she had the ability to influence the world with just the flick of a finger.

This year’s Monster University freshmen were truly formidable.

A pity that she was just an ordinary person.

“You are making a lot of sense, but potion makers are held in very high esteem whether in the International Association or in the Ye Family, and the family head…” Old Master Ye frowned.

“Are you part of the Ye Family or am I part of the Ye Family?” Su Huiqing stuffed her cell phone into her pocket. She raised her brows. “Just let the potion makers make their potions. It’s so simple, do I still need to spell everything out for you? Or do I have to personally make the potions for you?”

Old Master Ye didn’t dare to retort.

He just bowed respectfully. “I understand.”

Su Huiqing grunted nonchalantly before picking up the book on the bench. As if she suddenly thought of something, she lifted her chin at Principal Dien. “Principal. don’t forget what you promised me.”

Principal Dien nodded thoughtfully.

Satisfied, Su Huiqing turned and left. She had resolved her dilemma regarding Su Ruohua.

After a couple of steps, she paused again and turned slightly, twirling the book in her hand. “Oh yes, Old Master Ye, I advise you to choose a new family head as soon as possible. If you continue to allow that fool to remain in power… do you think that the recent incidents befalling the Ye Family potion makers are just coincidences?”

Su Huiqing kept her book and smiled at Old Master Ye.

That smile was fresh and lovely.

But the shock on Old Master Ye’s face was clear.

He had sought out Principal Dien as he had no choice.

Their herbs on southern Island were being taken by Yu Shijin. They didn’t even know how they managed to offend the Yu Family. On top of that, quite a number of incidents had befallen the Ye Family recently. One by one, their potion makers encountered nasty incidents.

If news of this got out, the other powers would definitely take advantage of the situation to strike the Ye Family. That was why they had kept everything under wraps.

Even Principal Dien didn’t know of it.

How did this girl know?!

“Principal Dien, she… who is she?” Old Master Ye finally managed to compose himself.

Principal Dien watched Su Huiqing’s disappearing profile. “Do you know that Dugu Heng wants to acknowledge a daughter?”

“Yes of course. It has caused quite a stir.” Old Master Ye nodded. “Acknowledging an impure bloodline and insisting on sending her to the training grounds at such a crucial moment. Everyone in the International Association is guessing that the Dugu Family Head must have gone mad.”

Principal Dien glanced at Old Master Ye. “Do you really think Dugu Heng is mad?”

Old Master Ye paused. “A bastard child with an impure bloodline. No training at all for the past 20 years. It would be a great waste of a spot.”

Principal Dien glanced at him again before leaving.

He gave a light chuckle as he turned.

He didn’t tell Old Master Ye that the bastard child with the impure bloodline was that girl he had just met. Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing didn’t know what had happened with Su Ruohua and Dugu Heng the past few days.

She didn’t ask about it either. Anyway, she would support Su Ruohua no matter what she decided to do. Most importantly, she had already found a powerful backing for Su Ruohua.

Principal Dien. Most people didn’t know it, but she knew his background.

She believed the Dugu Family also knew it.

As a result, she wasn’t at all surprised to see someone in the Dugu Family regalia, waiting for her outside the door to her dormitory.

It was a guard from the Dugu Family’s ancestral hall. On seeing Su Huiqing, he lifted his chin. “You must be Su Huiqing. I am part of the enforcement team from the Dugu Family’s ancestral hall. Come back with us so that we can add you into the family tree.”

The surrounding students all gasped at his words. They stared at the two of them.

The Dugu Family was one of the big three in the International Association. They were legendary and a rare sight to the general populace.

Even the commander-in-chief of the International Association had to be respectful toward them.

The other students couldn’t be blamed for being shocked to see them in Monster University.

The man from the enforcement team remained standing there, proud and erect.

He continued to watch Su Huiqing, waiting to see her surprised and joyous expression.
