Chapter 113: Not Acquainted? Good

Su Huiqing was sitting in her chair, her dark eyes narrowed.

She looked like she was in deep thought.

Her computer was turned on and the chat channel was still live.

After she sent Chu Xuning that message, Xie Zhengyuan’s invitation to an online meeting came through.

Although she didn’t agree to Su Ruohua’s request for her to learn about managing the Su Corporation, Xie Zhengyuan and Su Zhi would always privately seek her out for discussion regarding any major strategies for the company.

Today was a three-party meeting.

Su Huiqing, Xie Zhengyuan and a middle-aged man, whose dark eyes glittered with intelligence.

Anyone present would recognize him to be Benny, the director of Starlight Corporation and who frequently appeared on the cover of international finance magazines.

Su Huiqing reached out for a freshly printed set of documents and lowered her eyes to read through it.

“This is our highest offer.” Benny swirled a glass of red wine as he lifted his gaze to look meaningfully at Su Huiqing. “12% interest.”

Xie Zhengyuan was also flipping through the same documents.

He didn’t immediately reply after reading, but looked toward Su Huiqing. It was clear that Su Huiqing was in charge.

Observing this scene, Benny took a sip of red wine with narrowed eyes.

“12% interest is too low.” Su Huiqing casually set the documents aside, her face completely impassive.

Benny shook his head. “Ms, Su, you can look into the situation at the International Association yourself and find that this offer is definitely not too low.”

Su Huiqing smirked as she glanced at Benny with ink-black eyes. “Mr Benny, to my knowledge, you guys already exhausted a huge amount of resources during your preliminary project phase, so you will probably go bankrupt if you don’t receive a cash injection now.”

Benny’s hand jerked, nearly spilling the contents of his glass of red wine.

“In that case, there is no need for us to waste each other’s time.” Su Huiqing leaned over to break off the connection to this online meeting.

Her face was stone cold and it was clear she was not joking.

Xie Zhengyuan just continued looking at Su Huiqing.

He had heard about Benny while he was at the International Association previously. He was a very astute businessman, and had achieved a lot in the business world.

Unfortunately, he was now matched up against Su Huiqing.

In terms of scheming and resilience, Benny was far behind Su Huiqing on both counts.

A 12% interest sounded like a decent amount for this project, but Benny’s preliminary project phase was already a sinkhole.

Su Corporation could choose to invest their funds in any other project and achieve a much higher rate of return over the short-term.

“Wait a minute.” Benny’s heart skipped a beat when he saw that Su Huiqing was really going to disconnect. “40%. I will give you 40% interest.”

“Alright.” Su Huiqing raised her brows delicately. “You can discuss the rest of the details with Teacher Xie. Contact me if you encounter any issues.”

She still ended up cutting off the connection.

Xie Zhengyuan saw Su Huiqing lowering that cold face of hers at the last second right before she closed off her connection.

He gave a gentle sigh.

During this period, he had learned a lot about Su Huiqing’s astute observation skills. Benny’s methods to try and deceive her… were no match for her at all.

Benny had underestimated Country Hua and Su Huiqing.

In the end, he was so daunted by Su Huiqing that he ended up ceding a 40% interest rate—much higher than the 25% he had been prepared to offer.

Su Huiqing closed the connection to the meeting and finally saw Chu Xuning’s message.

She lowered her gaze and typed a reply: ‘I will treat you guys to a meal sometime over the next few days.’

Uncle Chen was knocking on her door, calling her down for dinner.

Su Huiqing didn’t answer but continued staring at her computer.

After a long while, she finally pushed back her chair and headed out the door.

As a result, she didn’t see the one-word reply which came right at the moment she turned to leave: ‘Okay.’

On the other side of the computer, Yu Shijin was bent over with one hand on the table, and the other hovering over the keyboard.

There was no reply from the other side.

He smirked and pointed at the penguin icon. “Send me the username and password of this account.”

Chu Xuning, “…”

“What?” Yu Shijin straightened his body and looked coldly at Chu Xuning, his eyes deep and profound.

“Nothing, nothing. This is your work account anyway!” Chu Xuning jumped back hastily.

Yu Shijin took up his jacket and leisurely headed outside.

He exuded a chilly vibe all over.

On the other side, Su Huiqing was seated at the dining table, realizing that the atmosphere felt somewhat tense.

“Grandpa, what’s the matter?” She picked up some food with her chopsticks, as she nonchalantly brushed back her hair with her other hand.

It sounded like a casual question.

Su Lun kept silent for a moment before speaking. “Qingqing, did you come into conflict with a schoolmate recently?”

Su Huiqing’s hand wavered slightly as a cold light flashed across her lowered eyes.

She then lifted her gaze, her eyes all calm again. “No, I have been getting along with my schoolmates. Go ask Yu Xiangyang if you don’t believe me.”

With a genuine smile, Su Lun let go of his worries. Nevertheless, his brows remained tightly furrowed.

Su Huiqing went back upstairs after dinner.

She saw Yu Shijin’s one-word reply.

Even the full-stop felt cold. It didn’t look like Chu Xuning’s style at all.

But Su Huiqing didn’t pay much attention. She typed on the keyboard with a grave expression: ‘Are you guys acquainted with Ning Wenxue?’

The other side responded quickly with three words: ‘Don’t know her.’

Su Huiqing smirked when she saw the reply.

It was good they were not acquainted with her.

It was obvious that Ning Wenxue had a powerful background.

Yu Shijin had already helped her a lot.

If Ning Wenxue and Yu Shijin were acquaintances, it would not be right for her to do anything to Ning Wenxue and her people.

So… it was very good that they were not acquainted.

There was no need for her to be merciful.

Su Huiqing lowered her eyes and calmly downloaded a file. It was a pitch-black eye icon.

She stared at the icon for a moment, before clicking on it and entering a string of numbers.

She clicked enter.

The account was blank.

The profile picture was just a simple capital “S”.
