Rebirth of the Godly Prodigal Chapter 1288 – A Kiss in Good Faith

Chapter 1288: A Kiss in Good Faith

Hong Dali had wanted to ask the Goddess of Wisdom this question the first time he met her.

Because looking at the Goddess of Wisdom’s character, she did not look like someone who would treat lives as playthings. In fact, she seemed very kind. This could be seen from how she did not kill him.

If it was someone who had no regard for human lives, he would not have the chance to turn the tables around.

“Dimensional War?” The Goddess of Wisdom smiled. She sounded tired as she shook her head helplessly, then she said, “Let me ask you. The place where you are from, is there a King?”

“Yes.” Hong Dali was perplexed. He went closer to the Goddess of Wisdom subconsciously. Looking at her from up close, Hong Dali finally understood what it meant by breath-taking beauty. Hong Dali plucked up courage and sat about two feet from the Goddess of Wisdom. “My country is Heavenly State. Although there’s no king, there’s a person of a similar position. I call him Grandpa Mysterious, hehe. My Grandpa Mysterious is a very good person. He’s smart and kind-hearted. He treats me well too.”

“En.” The Goddess of Wisdom nodded, then asked, “In your country, are there any evil officers?”

“Evil officers?” Hong Dali understood then. “I understand what you’re trying to say. No matter how good the people above are, it’s beyond the reach of their power. If it’s too far away, there will be officers who take things in their own hands, right?” Hong Dali didn’t forget the evil officer he met at the village. He surrounded the people in the village and even fired at Grandpa Mysterious.

Earth was as such, not to mention the vast universe.

“You’re very smart. It’s easy to communicate with you.” The Goddess of Wisdom was quite satisfied with this. If one was stuck on the top of the mountain with a stupid person, they would really be miserable.

She wasn’t afraid of killing Hong Dali. But what would happen after that? She had lost her powers and could only stay there alone…

“Hehe, Sister Goddess, I have wrongly accused you. I thought you were a bad god who didn’t take human lives seriously.” As Hong Dali spoke, while the Goddess of Wisdom was not paying attention, he went nearer to her and gave her a peck on the cheek!

“You!” The Goddess of Wisdom was shocked. Her originally clam body shivered violently and she grabbed her staff. Hong Dali realized he went a little overboard and ran away as he screamed.

Both of them were five to six meters apart. Hong Dali didn’t dare to go nearer and the Goddess of Wisdom was at a loss.

In such a short period of time, she wasn’t even sure how many days had passed, and this damned detestable rascal took such a big advantage of her. Her face was pale as paper, and she clenched her fist tightly. Diamond-like tears fell like raindrops. She said, “You shameless lewd, how dare you taint my unsullied self. Only one of us will exist!”

“No, no, no.” Hong Dali shook his hands hard. “Actually, this is our family’s way of good faith. Which means I want to improve our relationship and ease up the atmosphere. I don’t mean anything else!”

“Really?” The Goddess of Wisdom was intelligent, yet she couldn’t tell if Hong Dali was lying.

There were various races in the universe, and each race had its own custom. Some hugged when they met, and others shook hands. Some would even kiss the instep of the girl they were interested in. There were different types of customs. How was the Goddess of Wisdom, who had lost her power, be able to distinguish the truth?

“Absolutely. Start with emotions, end with virtue. Truer than real gold!” Hong Dali nodded vigorously, his heart racing. “Don’t bother about these customs. Oh right, Sister Goddess,” Hong Dali looked at the sky and quickly changed the topic. “It’s late. Where are we sleeping tonight?”

“Who is sleeping with you?!” Having lived for tens of billions of years, the Goddess of Wisdom had never felt angrier. She ignored him with tears in her eyes. Then, she remembered that her innocence had been tainted by this rascal, yet he had saved her life. Frustrated, she closed her eyes lightly, and her tears couldn’t stop flowing. “Hong Dali, I won’t let you off. You better pray for luck tonight!”

As she spoke, she pounded her staff on the ground. A silver-white light shone, and with a boom, a cave was formed in the hill behind them. It became her temporary residence.

“Damn, Sister Goddess, your staff can still be used?” Hong Dali stared with his eyes wide open, then he asked blankly, “Can you make me a room as well?”

As he said that, he saw that the Goddess of Wisdom’s face was as pale as a ghost. There was blood on the corner of her mouth and her breathing was short and sharp as she sat cross-legged in the cave looking like a statue of a fairy.

“Sister Goddess, are you hurt?!” Hong Dali rushed toward the cave in shock. Before he reached the entrance of the cave, he heard the Goddess of Wisdom’s shouts. “Don’t come in! I… I’m okay!”

“You’re okay? Really?” Hong Dali was relieved when he heard that. With the Goddess of Wisdom’s level, she shouldn’t get hurt so easily. He asked curiously, “Why did you vomit blood?”

“My staff’s energy was almost depleted by the Devil. I used it forcefully just now and my ability has deteriorated too much.” The Goddess of Wisdom closed her eyes and tried to calm her breathing. “I’ll be okay after resting.”

Hong Dali finally understood. Simply put, the Goddess of Wisdom’s strength was originally at ten thousand. Now, she only had 0.0001 left. She over-exerted herself earlier. Just like if a car was forced to run at 500 miles when it could run at 100 miles. How could she be well?

“As long as you’re okay, it’s good.” Hong Dali was relieved. He sniffled and smiled. “I’ll sleep outside tonight, then. Anyway, there’s no one on this mountain. I don’t have to worry about anyone coming to kill me.”

As he said this, he looked around again.

On this exquisite peak, odd stones towered, flowers bloomed, trees shaded, and the mountain spring gurgled. It was like a fairyland on earth. But it was a pity. So what if the fairyland was beautiful? He was alone and it was dull. What different was this from prison?

Thinking up to this point, he felt dispirited and said with a gloomy face, “Sister Goddess, wouldn’t it be good if we didn’t fight? I could go home to hug my wives and make children, and you could continue being your supreme god. We would mind our own businesses, how joyful would that be? Now we’re stuck here in this desolate place…”

He sat down as he spoke. Then, he suddenly said, “I miss my wives, my parents, and my lackeys. Sigh…”
