Chapter 795: I Love Home-cooked Food

However, although Wang Yunmei was embarrassed to refuse Ji Haoyu’s gift for no reason, she couldn’t accept it calmly.

She immediately said to Ji Haoyu, “When I have time, Auntie will treat you to a meal. Give me a chance to thank you properly.”

When Ji Haoyu heard this, his eyes lit up. He nodded and agreed. “Alright, I’ll try your cooking too. Xiao Ai always praises your cooking.”

Jian Ai’s voiceover: “Bah, aren’t you shameless? When did I say that to you?”

“Don’t listen to her nonsense. Auntie only makes some home-cooked dishes. I can’t compare to the chefs in the restaurants outside,” Wang Yunmei said with a smile.

Ji Haoyu answered, “I love home-cooked food.”

At this moment, Ji Haoyu had completely led Wang Yunmei astray. She immediately laughed out loud. “Alright, if you like to eat, come to Auntie’s house to eat anytime. Auntie will cook for you.”

“Auntie, let’s exchange phone numbers. When it’s convenient for you, call me,” Ji Haoyu said.

Wang Yunmei naturally wouldn’t refuse. She immediately exchanged contact details with Ji Haoyu.

The two of them chatted and laughed for a long time. Many customers who had seen Ji Haoyu before passed by the hall and couldn’t help but look at Wang Yunmei in shock.

Manager Wang was so close to Young Master Ji?

Until Ji Haoyu said goodbye to Wang Yunmei and left, Sister Xia, who had been watching from afar, turned back again.

“Sister Mei, what’s going on? When did you become so close to Young Master Ji?” Sister Xia asked in shock.

Wang Yunmei smiled helplessly and said truthfully, “No, Haoyu is close to my daughter.”

“Your daughter?” Sister Xia was stunned. “Isn’t your daughter just in high school?”

“Yes, I don’t know how they became friends,” Wang Yunmei said.

Sister Xia looked at the door where Ji Haoyu’s figure had disappeared with an incredulous expression. She shook her head in surprise. “I didn’t expect Young Master Ji to have such a gentle side. Everyone says that he has a strange temper. I was watching from afar just now and was afraid that he would suddenly flare up.”

“Hah.” Wang Yunmei couldn’t help but laugh when she heard that. “Even if he has a weird temper, he shouldn’t be laughing one second and getting angry the next. You’re demonizing him too much. I think this child is quite good.”

Sister Xia didn’t dare to say anything bad about Young Master Ji. Her gaze immediately landed on the exquisite gift boxes in Wang Yunmei’s hand. “Did Young Master Ji buy these for you?”

Wang Yunmei nodded. “They’re things women eat. I don’t know what they are.”

“Open them and let me see.” Sister Xia couldn’t wait to take the gift boxes and entered the front desk.

She opened the four gift boxes. They were blood bird’s nest, donkey-hide gelatin, ginseng, and cordyceps.

“Sister Mei, they’re all good for your looks. Moreover, it’s obvious that they’re top-notch goods on the market,” Sister Xia couldn’t help but exclaim.

These things might not be worth much to Ji Haoyu, but he had put in a lot of effort into this gift.

Wang Yunmei had never eaten these before. The main reason was that they were too expensive, so she couldn’t bear to eat them.

She did not expect that the first time she could eat them would be because of Ji Haoyu.

Sister Xia wrapped the gift boxes again and said, “Leave them at the front desk for now, Sister Mei. Don’t forget to take them away after work tonight.”

Wang Yunmei nodded in agreement, but she was already thinking about when to invite Ji Haoyu home for a meal. She still had to choose a time when Xiao Ai could also return.
