Guan Tao couldn’t help but look delighted. “Good that it suits your taste!”

At this moment, another customer entered the shop. Guan Tao quickly stood up and said to Gao Yang in embarrassment, “Eat first. I still have work to do!”

Gao Yang nodded slightly.

Everything looked exceptionally natural. Neither of them felt uncomfortable, and Guan Tao did not feel inferior because Gao Yang saw her working here. This was the real her, her real life.

Gao Yang also knew this.

However, when Guan Tao was greeting the customers, she turned around to look at Gao Yang and realized that he had run to the counter and started chatting with the boss.

When she returned to the counter after ordering for the customer, she heard Gao Yang say to the boss, “Thank you.”

“What are you talking about?” Guan Tao felt uncertain for no reason and looked at Gao Yang and the boss with question marks.

Gao Yang only pursed his lips slightly and revealed a faint smile. He turned around and returned to his seat to eat.

The boss, on the other hand, looked at Guan Tao with a motherly smile. This made Guan Tao’s hair stand on end. She urged, “Boss, what did he say to you?”

“Nothing.” The boss pursed her lips and smiled. “He just asked if I was still hiring part-timers during the weekends.”

“Ah?” Guan Tao was shocked and her eyes widened. “What… what does he mean?”

The boss raised her eyebrows slightly. “Tao Zi, you also know how busy our shop is during the weekends. There are only the two of us in front. I still have to keep an eye on the counter, so haven’t I been recruiting recently?!”

As soon as she finished speaking, the boss lowered her voice and said to Guan Tao, “Your boyfriend said that he’s willing to come over to be a part-timer, but I can only give him four yuan an hour. You also know that I give you five yuan because you’ve worked here for a long time, but he said that it was no problem!”

Guan Tao: “…”

Of course, there was no problem because this was not a matter of money, okay?!

Gao Yang working in a hamburger shop? Did that sound any different from a ghost story?

Guan Tao was about to look for Gao Yang when the boss stopped her. She looked at Guan Tao and said, “Tao Zi, your boyfriend seems to be from a rich family. He’s willing to do this because he wants to accompany you.”

Guan Tao was stunned. Of course, she knew that Gao Yang was not here for a four yuan an hour salary.

However…

There was no need to do this.

Guan Tao did not think that rich people could not work part-time jobs, but it was a matter of suitability.

Gao Yang did not like to smile. Those who did not know him would think that he was angry at any time, as if someone owed him money.

He did not like noisy environments. Children with extremely high decibels often appear at hamburger restaurants. Even with her good personality, she would often frown at being agitated. How could Gao Yang stand it?

She did not want Gao Yang to make things difficult for himself because of her.

She walked to Gao Yang and sat down. Guan Tao lowered her head slightly, looking like she had something to say.

Gao Yang looked at her with the half-eaten burger and said gently, “Did I make things difficult for you?”

“No.” Guan Tao quickly shook her head. When she looked up again, her eyes couldn’t help but turn red. “But you don’t have to do this. This isn’t something you should do.”

“There’s nothing that should or shouldn’t be done,” Gao Yang said gently. “It’s just whether or not you want to do it.”

Guan Tao looked up at him and met Gao Yang’s wise and affectionate gaze. “I want to accompany you.”
