“Pei Ge, only three days are left until your engagement! Regardless of how busy you are, I want you to come over and take a look at the preparation made! Also, you and Xiao Ji haven’t taken any wedding photos yet!”

The moment the call connected, her mother’s indignant voice was heard.

Perceiving the annoyance in her mother’s voice, she did her best to appease her.

“Mom, I’m busy right now. Plus, I don’t think there’s anything to fuss about regarding the engagement preparation. It should be fine with you and auntie there to organize it.”

“Busy, busy, busy! Are you the nation’s prime minister?! What are you busy with? As your superior and the company’s CEO, Xiao Ji isn’t even as busy as you are! He even found time to come over and take a look every day!”

Her mother’s voice increased by several decibels, apparently displeased with her lack of interest.

“Although your auntie and I are organizing it, you two are the ones getting engaged. You should at least visit the venue to familiarize yourself with it. Get your wedding photos taken while you two are at it, too!

“It’s your engagement, so your photos need to be placed at the entrance for the guests to see!”

She reminded of that thanks to her mother’s scolding.

“Ah! I almost forgot about that!”

This was, after all, her first time getting engaged, so it was acceptable for her to forget about that.

“… You lass, if you’re in front of me now, I’d really give your head a good knock! How could you forget such an important matter? Do you truly want to get married with Xiao Ji or what?! How carefree you are!

“You don’t know, but your man is very uptight about the engagement party. Not only is he preparing it with us, he’s even reading your wedding dress and gown. I really don’t know what great things you accomplished in your last life to have such a good boyfriend now.”

Apparently, after this period of time, her mother’s favorable impression of the man had increased further.

A slight smile appeared on her plain face as she listened to her mother’s nagging.

Her bliss and contentment made her face look rosier.

She was about to give her mother a reply when she saw the subject of her mother’s praises walk into her office.

“Alright, mom, let’s stop here. I still have something on; I’m hanging up now!”

She hung up the call fast and looked up at the man with bright eyes.

“When did you come in? Also, why didn’t you knock before coming in?”

Her smile belied her whining.

“I knocked, but you were too busy to notice.”

Ji Ziming walked to her side and regarded her with gentle eyes.

“What is that call from auntie about?”

“Isn’t it clear… You come clean with me! What on Earth have you done in this period? My mom seems to have been bewitched by you, such that she’s listing my flaws while defending yours.”

She pouted at him, pretending to be angry.

When the man caught sight of her angry look, he lightly hit her head in amusement.

“It’s only right for her to reprimand you. For these past few days—”

“Ah! Even you are telling me off now!” She used one hand to cover her head and held his hand with the other.

“Isn’t it right to tell you off? For these past few days, you only cared about your work and didn’t bothered about our engagement.”

He smiled at her Although he had a gentle expression, his words carried a hint of grievance.

A bright smile appeared on her face as she heard him grumble.

“Ah! Someone is unhappy! Jealous?”

She brought his hand to her cheek. Her eyes were like two crescent moons when she smiled at him.

“I didn’t do it on purpose. Please forgive me, alright?”

She grinned at him as she rubbed his palm against her silky-smooth cheek. She was just like a cute kitten acting cutesy to its owner.

The man was not very angry to begin, so when she did this, all his grievances dissipated.

Peering into her eyes, he became even gentler.

“Alright,” replied the man softly. He kept gazing at her with affection.

She’s my fated lover whom I can’t do anything about. I’m really at a loss on how to deal with her.

“We should take some time off to take our wedding photos. My mother is rushing us.”

Her smile widened as she saw the gentleness on his face.

“Let’s do it today.”

He retracted his hand from hers and held her hand, instead.

“Eh? Do we have enough time to do that today? Isn’t it already nighttime?”

Baffled, she looked at the clock and saw that it was almost quitting time.

Aren’t wedding photos supposed to be taken during the day?

Seeing her baffled expression, the man’s lips curled. “Regardless of whether it is day or night, it’s all the same. The only difference is where you want to take the photos.”

Since the man was certain, she merely nodded in acquiescence.

The average people face many limitations when they get their wedding photos taken, whereas the rich only have to consider if they want to or not?

Anyways, people’s photoshop skills are great. There probably won’t be any issue whether it’s day or night.

Apparently, she was too conservative in her thinking!

Sometimes, the difference between day and night was not limited to having the photos photoshopped…

“Alright, let’s take them today. If not, my mom will likely annoy me to death.”
